Crinacle and rtings did extensive research on this and concluded it doesn't exist. It all depends on our ears, listening to an iem for extensive period of time makes our ears to get used to that particular tuning and thus the sound gets more natural, which is absolutely not burn in or the driver opening up.
Hey there, while it's true that personal perception and adaptation play a role in our listening experience, the concept of burn-in or driver opening up is still a topic of discussion among audio enthusiasts. Crinacle and Rtings have provided valuable insights based on their research, highlighting the influence of ear adaptation. However, some users claim to notice subtle changes in sound characteristics over time. Ultimately, it's up to individual interpretation and preference. So, whether you believe in burn-in or not, the most important aspect is to enjoy the music and find the best sound that suits your taste.

So pre owned headphones are the way to go as the burning in is already done?
After trying 15 hours of different burning-in sounds, i have not heard sound differences in about 30 IEMs with dinamic drivers, also no change in Bedyerdynamic 990 pros, also no difference to report in hifiman anandas. There is no change in sound in my experience.
Very Controversial topic
Eat some roti
@@houman2009 and some dal too :)
@Raghav, Does "burning in for few hours/overnight" produce a change in any measurable objective criteria of dynamic drivers or any other audio component in your experience ?
Should i buy a dac if i am using iem connected with gaming moniter ?and will mic work via monitor aux?
Sir, i have been using Sennheiser IE 200. Is IEMs also need burn in process
I bought my 1st pair of headphones recently and saw this Smart Burn-in function when I started to play around with the App, but then forgot about it. Now, a month later, I decided to do it: I started the Smart Burn-in but it says that it will take 12hrs to complete phase 1! So it seems I'll have to do several sessions of 12hrs each! That's just crazy!!!
Hii, I'm looking for good iem(my first) in and around 2k ,could you suggest me some good ones from your website.
Signature Acoustics FE-01 (RIVER) vs hola which one is good can you plz tell me
I have burned in my DCA Noire closed backs for a month now, and they still sound dull and lifeless.
Luckily, my reseller has a 12 month return policy, and these are going back. Thanks for the great video, Ragav...
burn in only makes a small difference. yes u did good returning them although EQ is not out of the question
I have a Schiit Loki that helped, but could not "lift the veil" of lack of clarity. Bass is very good though.
Totally agree with you same thing goes with expensive pair of home theater speakers. You have to break them in...
i have recieved focal celestee these week im kinda a little disapointed still in some aspects only base is brutal great they have 15 hours right now one night i let them whit white sound for 8 hours at 60 porcent laptop volumen i personally listen them for 4 or 5 hours 2 hours at 85 porcent with youtube and mp3 at 320kpps im planing leave them 2 times more for a 8 to 10 hour naight playing is that corect.

I have personally tried burning in on some headphones, and for me, it does not make much of a difference in sound. imo
Excellent videos
anybody know the burn in time of 7hz salnotes zero?
Hey, Raghav Can you please tell me what type of sound should i play while burn in [ Pink Noise / any kind of music ] ☞ waiting for your reply....... ☺️
Pink noise but depends upon the frequency response of the listening device
I dont need to burn my tangzu Wargner, because it's already on fire when i brought it
What music should I play while burning in ? Kindly guide me in this regard. Thank you in advance.
don't, its a myth
I bought your company's KZ edx Pro earphones today. Will it also have to go through the burn-in process? And its Cyan colour is amazing
Thank you for the feedback about the colour of the KZ EDX Pro. A burn in is always recommended for any new IEMs/ Headphones as it loosens the drivers and enable the gear to perform at it's maximum potential.
I have buyed cca lyra iem last year . Can I burn-in now ? Is it will work at these after 1 year?
Burning-in means , it should be continuously playing for several hours?
Burn-in for IEMs is done when they're new. After a year of use, they should be settled into their sound signature. However, if you feel like they've changed or degraded over time, you can try a short burn-in period by listening to them continuously for a few hours. But typically, it's not necessary after extended use.
@@headphone_zone I tried and It works . Much improvement in sound quality
Damn.... I noticed this and got scared of my brand new edx pro sounds worse... eventually it pumps up amazingly
Thanks for the video, brought the needed 'clarity' on a 'burning' issue.
Can you please give some idea about the type of music we should use for burning in? There are some tracks available on You Tube, would these be the right ones? Or should we just play the type of music we usually listen to as per our preferences?
should i plug my iem in dac or directly in my smartphone's audio jack for burning in
Yes, you can plug-in your new IEMs directly into the headphone jack of your smartphone.
*Any wired earphones that you people recommend for listening to indian classical music (raag based) and western classical (instrumental) like Mozart and Bach.*
Under 1k and 2k
Also suggested an DAC/Amplifier under 2k
Moondrop Quarks
Moondrop Chu. It's even better then quarks
7hz salnotes or thruthear hola. Moondrop chu2 is also good.
Does this concept apply for IEM's too?
Yes absolutely!
which IEM's will be better, one with 1DD or with 1DD and more than 2 BA
The driver count is not as important. What truly matters is the tuning of the drivers - be it a single DD or Hybrid setup.
I agree to raghav. I used an iem that's 7hz selnotes zero sounded much better after a month.
can you tell what to play whole night for burning in then I'll pick it up in morning
You can play any music which you prefer at 70% volume or you can play white noise/ pink noise videos on youtube.
Can you please do a comparison between hexa, aria and titan s
Same here
I vote for hexa
I recently purchased the kz zsn pro x so the burnin process required ? If required how many hours do I need to do and will it give a good impact?
5 days
Hahaha, I remember when I bought my first IEM (KZ ZSN Pro), I had no idea of these technicalities and was disappointed when first listening to them. They sounded very low.
Good to see these videos, it will be helpful for the beginners!
How long did it take before they reached their full potential?

Bruuuhhh, it might be real but doing it for the sake of it feels stupid to me
Can anyone tell how much time final e3000 will take to burn in. Its been 3 days but it is still having low sound.
use dac/amp
@@mukulmanghani8255 What is that bro...can you plz explain
@@Akshay-ts4bv DAC is a digital to analog converter which used to convert your digital audio files to a analog output. It'll make your audio better like what they actually recorded in the studio when you're using it with a Hi-Res audios like FLAC, ALAC.
what device you using? for my iphowe, yes it sound so low. but my vivo nex, it sound better because it have dac built in.
@@Bizarre5165 I'm using Xperia 1 IV with KZ ZS10-pro.

Works with iems?
In IEM you will get only 10% improvement after burn in for about 40 hrs , because IEMs drivers are too small compared to Headphones

can confirm after using the same airpods almost daily since 2019 they sound like shit and the battery runs out in 45 minutes max😁👍🏼
At 400 hrs of contant use this will reduce lifespan of the headphone or speaker😂then one is left with a better sounding but a lot less lifespan from headphone
We havent crossed the 400 hour mark. So it'll be hard to be able to comment on what happens then.
Yes headphones and earbuds do smoothen out after a few days.
this is why people hate audiophiles
Ah, the love-hate relationship with us audiophiles! But hey, passion is passion, whether it's for audio gear or collecting stamps shaped like fruit. As long as it brings joy, right? 😄
Does headphone burn in work
Yes absolutely!
@@headphone_zone how long to do it I only did it for 6 hours
They will eventually burn in when listening to it for long periods of time for like a month or nah?
You're absolutely correct! While some of us audiophiles like to speed up the process with dedicated burn-in sessions, simply listening to your headphones over time can also contribute to a natural burn-in effect. So, whether it's intentional or not, your headphones are on their way to unlocking their full potential! 🎧🔥
Burning it now.. hope it wont catch fire. hehe...
They will definitely sound fire!
Ok i must say this. "headphone zone" channel. About sound and sound quality... and sound in this video is so bad. Can't watch this. Sorry.
Totally agree
This is an explosive topic! Many people are ardent votaries of it, while others vehemently deny it. Deniers say that it is just a placebo, nothing else. They claim to have seen scientific papers on this but cannot say from where. I prefer the term “aging”, as Final Audio calls it. Final Audio has provided a nice explanation of this “aging” process on their website. I request every audiophile to read it and then make up their mind on this.
Eh lazy bs.
The burden of proof lies with the owner of the claim. When snake oil sellers claim burn in is real do they give any measurable proof or evidence that can be repeated?
No
Whereas a lot of journalism publications have time and again wasted their resources in proving that "burn in" doesn't exist. There is no graph that shows change in frequency response or phase response of different headphones.
Reviewers like Rtings dot come have done similar tests on 4 driver types and shown that the "burn in" miracle doesn't happen.
Some psychologists have reasoned that it might be people getting used to the audio device.
I'm not as polite, I call it bs. Have HPZ or other major "burn-in" believers ever come out with any measurable results? Nope nada never.
Couldn't find them, a link would help
