Matt, @ 7:44 you show how she straigthened out her stride so that she does not dive into the plate. Why do you feel that is important to execute? Rogers Hornsby, Alex Rodriguez, Giancarlo Stanton (he doesn't step toward the 2nd baseman as much now that he is playing for the Yankees as when he played for the Marlins), and others have enjoyed excellent offensive careers employing the "dive".

Gotta tell ya, to me it doesn’t look like Stanton uses much lower body at all. He has that exaggerated closed stance and appears to just muscle the ball with his upper body. Can’t imagine the power he would have if he incorporated his lower half more. IMO, only players of his size and strength can get away with such mechanics. That said, I’m just a lay person that watches a lot of UA-cam hitting videos in an effort to help improve my daughter’s hitting. She did just hit a monster of a HR this past Sunday at age 13 against an 18U pitcher at a college showcase. I’d like to think I help her as a hitter. I do have to credit guys like Matt though for helping educate myself.

@@midnightflyer7510 - ua-cam.com/video/x_sRPYLJrhQ/v-deo.html - This is a slow motion video of Stanton's swing, and I would say he gets his rear end into the swing, but he does not coil as much as he could; however, that may be a good thing if he can not pivot his head suffiently to maintain binocular vision, such as Mookie Betts does in this video, ua-cam.com/video/7WllxjVKdqY/v-deo.html.
So, why did Stanton straighten his stride? Dunno, but maybe his neck is not presently as flexible as it was during his Marlin days, thus creating a transformation which allowed him to place both eyes on a pitch from right-handed pitchers.
Matt is definitely a great instructor, and you would do well to continue following him.

Well done. Huge difference on the left. At full extension her hands are level with her nose as opposed to well below the chin on the right.

If I had these videos 35 years ago, I’d be in the Hall of Fame.

Hey Matt, what are some drills to not swing down at the ball and get the bat in the zone early?

Do the hips twist back at all when hitting?
Kind of like pitching where you tighten the knee for support.

Can you make a video on pitching glove action? I've watched a few videos on it and none of them make sense.

Will using a two strike approach as a normal swing give me more contact and less power?

The right stance is the way my generation was taught to stand and swing. Ted Williams book and Clair Bee's how to play Winning baseball both teach upright high bat and the way she WAS turning. Charlie Lau's book goes more to the left stance With Pete Rose and George Brett being the best examples. It would be great if all Coaching Baseball classes taught in college, taught coaches how to teach hitting for Modern Baseball/softball, Clinics are good but only wealthier parents can afford the ones offered by College coaches.

Key phrase "how to play Winning basebal". Softball is a different world altogether. I can't figure out why baseball guys just don't get it.
Keep doing what you do Matt.

@@anthonyz5671 I disagree, the ball is bigger that is difference,it comes in on a similar plane and speed. You have to react slightly faster. The swing is similar.
