I guessed wrong... I honestly cannot tell the difference when I'm looking at you, maybe it'd be different in person... your skin looks amazing though on both sides! This was an informative video, thank you ❤
Thank you so much for your kindness, Sara. It is definitely a very very slight difference and maybe it’s even by touch more, or feel I mean, it’s just such a nicer, smoother surface to apply makeup to and it did wear better for longer.

It is a subtle but definite difference. I find it difficult to find primers that don’t make my pores more noticeable (even the silicone ones that are supposed to minimise pores 🤷🏻♀️) - this looks like one for me to try ❤️
Caroline, this is one to try. I agree with you. Silicone primers make my pores look two times as large. So I think you might like this one.
I bought it today and I absolutely love it!!! I tried the veil in store but it is so oily type. Kind of like maybeline baby skin. I hate it because it clogged my pores. The vanish is not oily AT ALL!! I tried 4 different types of foundation, even one that was horrible with my previous primer. It actually made it look good. I also recommend the hourglass transculent powder to set your foundation. It’s probably not needed but definitely helps. Let’s see how it goes in the coming days 😁

Now for a question (if you have time)…did you put this primer over sunscreen? I haven’t tried many primers but the ones I have used do not seem to work over sunscreen. Typically I use color science flex shield or Skin Better Science. You are definitely selling me on this primer!
Hello Kim! Thank you so much for your kind words. I put this primer over sunscreen but it doesn’t count because it was hours after. I think you’re curious if it’ll pill when applied directly over sunscreen right away. I’ll test it tomorrow. Can film it for Instagram. Are you on Insta? I’ll tag you.

Yay, I was right. The Hourglass Mineral veil has been a holy grail for me for a long time. I'd love to try this one. I'd specifically like to compare this new one to the Tatcha Liquid silk canvas primer because they sound like they both serve a similar purpose and I enjoy it as well.
I actually like this one better than the Tatcha liquid!!

Yep noticed it immediately like I said your left looks more blurred more smooth etc . Primers are definitely a matter of opinion even with MUAs some say yes some say no but I do notice a difference and I didn’t use them for years and years now I do
Totally agreed. I often lazily skip primer but I'm so much happier when I stop for a moment and apply it first. Plus, let's not kid ourselves, haha, it depends which primer! 😍

I always use primer, as it smooths out my skin and everything goes on so much nicer. Your skin looks so silky smooth w/the primer side but my gosh $56 for a primer! I usually use the Benefit porfessional. Hopefully this will make it to Ulta, would love to try it!

Just found this!! Hope you see the question - I know you don't wear primer a lot, but when you have used this, did you find it helped foundation from breaking up around your nose and chin throughout the day - that's what I'm mostly looking for. Pore blurring and keeping the foundation put so it doesn't melt away after a few hours. I don't expect 24 hours, but to get through the workday and not have my foundation break up would be awesome. THANKS!
Michelle! Hello hello. This is one of my favorite primers. This and the Danessa Myrick. If I wear a primer it is either this one or danessa and yes it definitely helps ❤️❤️
I think the primer side leaves your skin with a very finished and smooth look. It looks pretty. I love hourglass primer but not sure if I caught how this differs from the original primer besides the smoothing. Maybe the smoothing is the big difference. I always wear a primer on face and eyes. Sometimes I don’t know if it makes a difference but it is a habitual part of my makeup routine ☺️
Hello Tracie! I think it definitely makes a difference. I think any primer really prepares the surface for make up. I agree with you. I’m not sure this is all that much different than other primers out there and especially the other from HG except, as you note, this does appear to smooth more. Either way, Makeup definitely lasts longer and doesn’t sink into lines as much with a primer. I agree with you.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty Agree! I went back and read the description for the original hourglass primer and it also provides smoothing effects. I guess this new one offers more smoothing. Please let us know how it works with your other foundations.

I really believe it is. But, to be on the safe side, if you have very dry skin you have to stick with the Hollywood flawless filter. To be honest. Or the Victoria Beckham golden primer. I know. I know. Buzz kill
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty All I wear is the HFF. I don’t have super dry skin; I would say normal to dry, but towards the drier side. I LOVE the HFF. It just works on every level, but sometimes it would be nice to cut the glow for a change!! 🤩🤩🤓♥️

@@NotFitforPrintBeauty I think so. I don’t do powders, BUT I put a couple of drops of an oil underneath products that are smoothing (aka powdery). So I think that, with a little bit of oil, it would be fine. BUT wouldn’t that defeat the purpose, though?? I mean oil doesn’t really smooth anything; in fact, it would take that away!! Hmmmm. Now I want to try it!!! 😃♥️

Love hearing the sound of powder particles in the primer. When it comes to Sephora I think I will pick it up. I was definitely wrong about the side it was on tho lol. Hello Regina! Yes, working to get a sample of that. I didn't end up using mine much so it's not with me anymore. I do like this one better but need to compare and contrast the two. Shows why I really should not declutter things so I can have them around for comparison.

Hi Rebecca, loved the video, thanks!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩It's looking twice, both sides of your face look great, it's not a big difference, but than the side with the primer also on wins in my opinon. Primers? Dry sensitive skin here, in winter i don't use them or maybe 1 time, in summer when it's more degr. Celcius than 4 (today) and when my skin is a bit less dry i sometimes use them! Late to the game watching this. Mixed reviews on Sephora. I still use the Victoria Beckham stuff (clear/bronze) as a primer when I use one. How do you think this compares ….probably completely different I suspect as hers is really a lite moisturizer? Anyway, always looking for that perfect product.
Hello Shari! I really love this one. Entirely different from the VB which, as you note, is moisturizing and dewy. The new HG is more like a powder finish. Very different looks and, I feel like, for different foundations. The Victoria Beckham might even be overkill under a dewy foundation where the HG might just be perfect! I really like the HG 😊

Ok I’m adding more to my comment now. Do you think this is similar to the Gucci silk primer serum ? ( I think that’s the name ) I’ve purchased the Gucci primer 2 times now. I really like it. I may have to try this Hourglass primer when my Gucci is finished.
Do you know what? I think I’d like this a little bit better than the Gucci. That was a good primer. This one may be a tad bit dryer. Not drying. Don’t get me wrong. But the finish is a little bit softer, maybe. Now I’m getting confusing. More like if you blend it in a powder super super well. While you’re walking on the treadmill, could you walk for me too?

Hey barbara! I just saw that primer advertised the other day and I thought “hmmmmm….” I wonder about it too. I’ll need to pick that up. Hello Victoria. I have normal or normal to dry skin. Those with dry your skin have told me they enjoy it. Funnily enough, I have heard more complaints from those with an oilier complexion. I agree that that makes no sense.

It feels like almost like a powder dry down without the powder coming off. Like if you buffed in a powder super super well, if that makes sense

I don’t do well w blurring primers. They all dry me out or accentuate pores. But it looks good on you. I have to use hydrating primers underneath
Do you use the Hollywood flawless filter like I usually do, Audra? Because, to me, that would be unbeatable for what you describe!

@@makeupjunkie723 Do you know what I found about the Victoria Beckham product? The more you put on, the better it looks. That means I go through it way too fast and it’s way too expensive. But when I double up on it it looks even better.

@@makeupjunkie723 Honestly, I do not know how HG remains in business. They are very very expensive and yet very very widespread. Usually expensive brands are niche and small but HG remains big and expensive and they get away with it!
