"Strange Worlds is like it was written by a teacher that would appear on Libs of TikTok"
Best movie review quote I've heard in a long time 🤣🤣🤣
I find the outrage of Libs of Tiktok so beautiful. Like Libs of Tiktok does nothing; all she does is copy paste the short clips that these lefties put out on Tiktok to twitter. She doesn't edit is, nothing. And the left is angry coz it shows that the only thing progressive about the left is their pathological mental illness.
"We know we're going to lose millions of dollars, but by golly, we've got an SJW message to tell!" -all movie studios in 2022
ESG. The govt bribes them with liability waivers for failing to maximize stock value if they satisfy an arbitrary list of degenerate cultural messaging.
I know. It was ridiculous!
I think Sony was the only one that didn't buy into it. Seems they've learned their lesson regarding wokeism from that all female ghostbusters.
Wife put strange world on for the kids...it was so engaging the kids decided to leave the room and play Legos. So maybe a good thing?
Woke means broke.
5. Memory
4. Man from Toronto
3. Glass onion
2. Amsterdam
1. The 355
Didn't glass onion come out in January?

I'm surprised that Thor Love and Blunder hasn't been mentioned yet.
Every Marvel movie SUCKED in 2022. Not a good sign. Only thing I liked was the Guardians Christmas Special and I'm shocked at that.
There were so many to choose from...
I can't imagine a single person deciding to see a film because the movie studio is calling them a human turd if they don't.
And it worked lol. Disney led all other studios in ticket sales
@@luismedrano6680 Which Marvel movie cracked a billion globally for 2022? Remind me? Oh that's right, NONE.
Thor 4 was expected to and it didn't.
@@luismedrano6680 Moreover, it's not surprising for Disney to have done that since they own a little over 40% of the industry itself with their Fox acquisition.
Seriously aside from G, PG, PG13 and R ratings, we also need a Woke rating system or warning on films.
GW, PGW, PGW13 and RW for Woke films.
Somebody said something about "Bros" the other day that kind of summed the whole situation up for me: "I didn't see '50 Shades of Grey' because I'm not interested in BDSM/dominate sex, and I don't want to watch a whole film based around a type of sex that doesn't appeal to me. I'm also not into gay sex, so I didn't want to see 'Bros.' I'm not saying either mivie shouldn't exist, I'm just saying that you can't expect people who aren't into the central premise to want to see them."
I have a problem naming the worst because I see the youtube reviews and avoid them. So they look like the worst, but all I've done is watched cringe reviews. There is no chance that I'm going to buy a ticket and see how much I hate it.
How's that a problem? You saved yourself a trip the cinema and wasting money on the ticket. Seems to me like you're putting the SPECIAL into Special Agent there sonny Bill.
Same here, I haven't been to a movie theatre since 2013. Last movie I think I saw was the Red Dawn remake, what a snore fest that was.
@@JonBowe red dawn lmao
For real, I watched 3 movies this year. I can rank my favorite youtube reviews of the shitty films though.
There is a distinct lack of “Don’t Worry Darling” on these 2 lists.
I was thinking that about Thor: Love and Thunder.
1. Rings of Power
2. Strange World
3. She-Hulk / Halo
4. Disenchanted
5. Amsterdam
There was so much bad that came out this year, it was hard to choose even 5...
Disenchanted was horrible. I know we were going after the more high profile films in our lists.
@@FilmThreat Honestly, theres just so many to choose from, the high profile ones are all becoming the same for the most part.
Also, stuff is crazy expensive right now. People aren’t going to spend their hard-earned money going to a theater to see a movie that they already know will be crap.
There were A LOT of bad films in 2022…
Obi Wan Kenobi is the TV series which caused me to cancel my Disney + account. I’d say the Halo TV show goes on that list as well Chris. Lol
I watched the first episode and couldn't be bothered to continue.
A few years ago I would've been ecstatic about a new Obi Wan story.
Yep. Kenobi was my breaking point.
The list of Movies in 2022 that were not garbage is much shorter than the list of the garbage Movies. A huge pile of rotten stinky Films that everyone who made them should be ashamed.
Firestarter, morbius, Halloween ends, Jurassic World dominion, amsterdam, lightyear, black Adam, I could go on and on
I thought lightyear, while not what I wanted from it, was okay for a watch.
Halloween Ends made Black Adam look like The Dark Knight when it comes to writing.
I actually didn't think Black Adam was that bad. Then again, I could've been beaten down by so many terrible Marvel shows that just about anything looked good by comparison...
@@chaburchak I actually thought Black Adam was the best superhero movie of the year. Here's how I ranked them for 2022:
- Black Adam
- The Batman
- Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
I'm divided on:
- Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness
Worst of the Year and of the MCU:
- Thor: Love and Thunder
But, 2022 is one of the few years where there isn't a single superhero movie in my top 10.
I'm surprised that Willow didn't also make it to Chris' list.
Have you seen the videos of all the Black Panther 2 toys on clearance this year after Christmas? NOBODY is buying the Ironheart and Shuri toys. Chris was right, killing off the Black Panther was a HUGE mistake. Unless Disney plans on buying up their own merchandise as well and claiming BP2 as a huge success, the toy stores are telling the real story.
well Disney ain't selling any toys lately. The toy companies are so sick of it that they put the old characters on the market as they know whatever Disney makes today is garbage; so they go by the original characters of the franchises.
@@stijnvdv2 lol Disney sold at least 51 billion in merchandise last year lol per the Hollywood Reporter.
@@stijnvdv2 besides, u are describing Hasbro toys when they recycle old toy and use their models for current ones, not Disney lol
@@luismedrano6680 Yeah, I forgot how much of a raging success those Eternals toy sales were. 🙄
Blood Origins, Rings of Power, and Obi-Wan Kenobi are what made me realize that we should not let the company that holds the copyright decide what’s canon and what’s not, that few companies nowadays are capable of telling simple stories that make sense and respect the source material due to politics, and it’s better for now that we stick to pre-2010s stuff and high quality fan projects (such as the Alzur’s Legacy Fan Film, and the Heir to the Empire and KOTOR animated Adaptations).
And yet 2 of the shows u mentioned are the most viewed shows on their respective platforms lol. Rings of power for Amazon and Obi wan for Disney+
@@luismedrano6680 Pretty sure Loki had higher ratings than Obi-Wan.
Chad Boseman was rumored to be replaced by a female lead even before his illness was known. Just like most of the M-She-U characters.
The joke is on whoever didn't stop watching cape shit around a decade ago honestly.
Correct. His dead was an opportunity to get a femal Black Panther.
The new Avengers will have to take a week off every month.
Lol and yet it's the most commercial the best phase behind only the 3rd phase at 5.6 billion
Black Panther Wakanda Forever is 3rd most successful movie of the year at $445 million behind only Top Gun 2 and Avatar 2
@@luismedrano6680 In a year full of bombs and turds, so you're not saying much. The 2022 bar couldn't have been lower.
I don’t know if I could honestly pick a worst film of 2022? Since a vast majority of them where rather terrible Chris. XD
I’ve not seen myself in a movie since Joe Dirt.
People say the same shit about music. This was the worst year... but it forces you to look for those diamonds. Rebecca Halls Resurrection is bat shot insane and I loved it. She's great in producing these small crazy projects
Resurrection was crazy good.
Todays movies are just awful propaganda.
I would say kenobi is at the bottom for me, mostly because in terms of how I excited I was and then how incredibly disappointed I was by the end. I kept telling my wife, oh this won't fail. They have obi wan and vader in it! How could it fail? Boy was I wrong! I guarantee that if they had Lucas or Filoni or heck even Bryce Dallas Howard on this, then it would have been a huge hit. Ugh. So painful to think about. I really really wanted this to be good.
Dave Filoni was fairly involved in Obi Wan though...
@@padenbang7375 was he? I didn't know that. Either way, there was not enough care put into this. Sad.
I think ROP not only failed to bring in non-Tolkien fans, it alienated both the books/movies and just movies crowd. The only people I saw who remotely liked it (besides obvious shills), didn't read any of the books or watch the movies. Even if you didn't read the books or watch the movies, I can't imagine what there was to like about this, other than the production values, which were great (for the most part), except for some horrible green screens.
Watched some of Chris' interviews on other channels and thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. Only recently discovered Chris has his own UA-cam channel (this one, FilmThreat) along with Alan, whom I am also becoming more familiar with as a result. These videos are increasing my respect for Chris almost by the day, and are inspiring me to be more thoughtful about the cinema I consume.
The worst thing I saw from 2022 (and I watched >200 movies in 2022), was Dragon Knight, Doctor Strange 2, After the Pandemic, and Black Site. Obi-wan Kenobi was the worst show I saw in 2022 (although Rings of Power gives it a good run for its money).
2022 was bad and 2023 doesn’t look very promising…
BLACK PANTHER 2 just had to be made because of money, but there was no chance they were getting past the loss of Chadwick Boseman.
I'm disappointed in Ryan Coogler for doing it. He should have handed it off.
I have to admit that Bros was very much a bottom film of 2022. But actually, there are a few tops involved in the film too. Lol
From God Awful to Just Eww of 2022 imo:
1. Turning Red
2. Blonde
3. Disney Pinocchio
4. Firestarter
5. Lightyear
Love you Alan
This man said Babylon is 3 hours too long.🤣
I'm surprised Thor Love and Thunder didn't make the list.
Because there were five worse films.
Hellraiser, Halloween Ends, Amityville Karen, The Requin, The King's Daughter, Mr. Harrigan's Phone, Babylon, Nope, Jurassic World Dominion, and Wakanda Forever are my worst movies
Just saw Way of Water, very good story and action of course. Last 3 hr movie for a while, 😆
Rough and accurate
My worst of the year
Men
The contractor
The 355
Infinite storm
Morbius
Sundown
Hatching
Gone in the Night
Worst I saw: Thor 4, Dr. Strange 2, Black Widow. Too bad to watch: Morbius, Bros., Wakanda. Horrible year for stupid writing & bad acting. Not a movie, but nothing ever is as lousy as She Hulk
I would have to include Banshees of Inisherin on that list. I liked En Bruge, I like Colin Farrel and Brendan Gleeson, I like quirky Irish characters...only midway through the movie you realize these people aren't just quirky, they're mentally ill. Only character I ended up liking was the little donkey and look how that went... Wish I had my time back.
Glass onion for me is the worst and most overrated movie of the year
Didn't mention Thor: Love and Thunder. :(
Don’t Worry Darling is on my list
This has been a horrible year for movies in general. Only handful movies.
Can't believe that Black Adam didn't make the cut. That was much worse than Wakanda Forever, imo.
It was disgusting the way Disney took a real life tragedy and tried to guilt trip people into watching the second film.
I think it's beacause it wasn't pretentious and not filled with more or less subtle messages, it was just an honest mediocre pop corn movie.
Where’s Willow!?!? 🚮
Calling Bros a bottom is an accomplishment 🤷♂️
Alan has the best lists. 👍 lol
she is very very quiet...too busy with her candles
No blood origin?
Siskel and Ebert 2.0
Get better outtro music. 😉
Thought u Sid women talking was a good film ?
The one movie I hated sitting through the most was Thor Love and Thunder. Christian Bale and on occasion those goats were the only bright sides. The only consolation was that I didn't pay for a ticket to see it in PLF IMAX....thanks A-List.
The Shining: Gore
Btw you get that effect by having "hard light". Probably a small, single light source and your computer screen as the only things lighting the room?
Ok, I see your videos are less about reviews and more about forcing your political views. I know it's working for you because extremists are very hungry for content about how all the films with LGBTQ+ themes are bad even though "you have nothing against it in general" allegedly. Your videos are not for people who are have passion for cinema but for fanatics that need fuel for their anger. So there, this is my opinion, do what you want about it, you can block me or ignore me or accept the critisism, it's your choice. I'm going to try to avoid your channel because I want to listen to people who talk about films and not to gay detectors that are beeping insanely when they approach certain kind of people that actually exist in real world and it doesn't matter if you like it or not. That's why they exist in films too if you really want to know.
Click bait!. There were too many movies to put in here, so I didn't do my work and just threw TV shows here. Not clicking on this dude's anymore
He probably felt more passionate about the shows.
But hey, good riddance.
I've unsubbed from channels myself.
Later. They won't miss ya.
Hating movies for political reasons. Great movie criticism. Really 👍 👌.
Most people watch movies to escape reality. Stuffing scripts with political ideology is like watching a movie produced by a 24 hr news network. Not all of the movies/shows are bad because "woke" which I agree is a lazy criticism, but this was definitely a down year for films and TV in general, especially compared to the last decade
@@padenbang7375 YOU I agree with. This video passing as criticism is BS. If you can't articulate why story, or dialog, or acting, or directing, or cinematography or any other aspect makes it a bad movie, but instead declare movies as bad because they have gay leads, female leads, black leads or deal with some political issue you don't care about, then do a political blog. That's not movie criticism.
@@danalmont8340 When one is left feeling beaten over the head by it, it can indeed become valid criticism.
Alan said he wasn't against a movie with an agenda as long as it was reasonably well written.
Chris has reviewed movies for years that have had gay themes, some of which he gave positive reviews for. What insulted him about Bros was being told how to be a parent to his kids with regards to the Florida bill. An element of which the movie brings up.
@@danalmont8340 Besides, these short videos are cut from longer videos.
Go back and watch their full reviews of these movies or watch the short videos about the movies directly instead of passing judgement on their end of the last year video.
@@davidcatlett4052 Dude, this is the video they posted. This is the video I'm commenting on.
These guys are auditioning as correspondents for Fox News. I'm surprised they didn't just scream WOKE for 20 minutes, per the marching orders of their people.
So you're saying those movies were all good then?
"Oh no. These people are not shilling for these terrible movies! They must be right wing extremists!"
What a clown you are.
@@1SpicyMeataball Cope harder.
The writing for these super hero and fantasy movies/series is suitable perhaps for a little comic that comes with a Burger King kid’s meal, but not for feature films, and major streaming platforms.
