Hey don't forget that in ultra sun and ultra moon that geovani is the leader of that group and somehow pulled the team leaders from their dimensions where no Pokemon trainer beat them ever and they completed their missions
For me it would be...
5. Team Flare- Laziness incarnate. A two-dimensional team who's attempt to adhere to the "traditional" villain role left them zero stage presence and an obnoxious style. The're only redeeming factor is Lysandre, who's tragic fall into misanthropy made him sympathetic and believable.
4. Team Magma/Aqua- Not much better. Two teams with bizarre motives and a lack of presence in the story. However, I enjoy the idea of two evil teams fighting in what is essentially a gang war, and ORAS did a good job adding onto their goals, turning Magma into industrial maniacs and Aqua into environmental avengers.
3. Team Rocket- A powerful start to the series. A mafia group controlling Kanto through the shadows and making life for Pokemon miserable, that's terrifying. They're simple motives actually make them feel very realistic, and taking down their empire brick by brick felt very satisfying. Giovanni is also a great character and I feel he deserves more development. Only real problem is Johto Rocket felt very underwhelming and they're simple goals don't hold up over time (At least to me).
2. Team Galactic- The first team to really feel like a true part of the story rather than just a roadblock. The group feels like a "Manson-Family" cult calling for the change of society, and they take that goal to a frightening extreme. Cyrus also feels like a true cult leader, coming from a broken home and taking his frustration to the cosmic level. Only problem is that the team admins where forgettable and they're goals a little too extreme for my tastes.
1. Team Plasma- A team that fits within the Pokemon universe better than any other. I'm amazed Nintendo had the guts to directly tackle the ethic's within the series, allowing them to finally put the issue to rest. Team Plasma's goals were deep but understandable, and it was enough to really get me thinking about how the Pokemon world worked. Both N and Ghetsis are very memorable, N for his complexity and Ghetsis for his cruelty. All in all, the perfect team for a Pokemon game.
That's my opinion, though. I really enjoyed the video, Silver.
Drew Kopp Gen 5 definitely has its problems like the atrocious anime, but the story and team plasma in general are the highest points of that generation.
Gera WallStar I agree anime for gen 5 was soo terrible that I thought that anime was like literally ruining the gen 5 game itself. Gen 5 has the most darkest part in the human in my opinion (before sun and moon). the anime shows team plasma so late that it made me soo piss. the whole gen 5 was about team plasma.

one thing about plasma that wasn't mentioned is that ghetsis manipulated and abused A CHILD badly enough to twist the kid's views completely about other humans and after telling him his whole life was a lie, Ghetsis proceeds to start insulting N too and really, i wonder about what N went through during the two years between bw and b2w2 because like he just realised the father figure in his life didn't give a shit about him and that must've fucked with him so much, possibly to the point of believing that he was a freak, and i just,,,,,,,, poor boy

1. *Team Plasma* (Very, very evil, extreme, decently challenging, best theme, best villain, most unique plot, smoothly fits in
story, great and unique in both 1 & 2, great climax, amazing development, [also for 1, a very, very unique ending to the
game]).
2. *Team Galactic* (Very Evil, great development, amazing theme, hard, unique climax, extreme story, edgy.)
3. *Aether Foundation* (Sneaky, somewhat evil, somewhat good, unique development, cool climax, take control of another
'evil' team.)
4. *Team Aqua & Magma* (Somewhat evil, good development, weak climax.)
5. *Team Flare* (Super Evil but not enough development.)
6. *Team Rocket* (Somewhat evil, good development, too milked, confusing/missing climax in both regions, okay theme, but
people gotta make a livin'.)
7. *Team Skull* (Doesn't strike me as evil.)
I think what made Team Rocket and Team Plasma work so well was that they were the most realistic. Team Rocket is an underground organisation, trying to make money through illegal means. Plenty of those exist in real life. What made them so great in my opinion was the context of their introduction. You're a young kid who's just travelling the world with their Pokémon, and you stumble upon a shady group of people who turn out to be gangsters. They pose a real danger to you, who is barely a middle-schooler.
Team Plasma may not have a direct real life counterpart, but I feel like they're kind of a mix of Scientology and Peta. They're trying to get you to question your morals to get you to work with them, while ultimately being hypocrites and having ulterior motives. All other teams are just so over the top. Expanding the land and the sea? Okay buddy, good luck. Destroying the entire universe? Sure, have fun. Killing everyone for the greater good? Oh, uh... well. I guess Team Flare could be up there with Team Rocket and Plasma if they were just better developed.

Team rocket committed animal cruelty to the point of killing a marowak to capture its child cuebone (Pokemon tower arc), committed literal hostile corporate take over with spies (Silph Co. and Goldenrod Radio Tower), and their motives are simply power by money and brute force that they are able to blend in everyday society ( Game Corner operation, Mahgoney town shop, forced evolution by radio signal , base of operation in Sevi island, and dig up fossils)

yes but im sure he based it on how entertaining they were, and not necessarily their accolades. doing a bnuch of stuff doesnt necessarily make a team the best, it all depends on how its executed.
based on rocket and plasma, i think pokemon does the power hungry villains better than the idealsitic cult leaders. team rocket is a mob and their goal is simply to occupy as much as possible and get into whatever crime they can to make profit. even the goals in the rainbow rocket saga is perfect, using the technology Giovanni has to create an ultra beast army. their goals are much more achievable, tangible, and simple, because in the beginning [gen 1] we can infer that they took over silph co to get control over the means of poke ball production, and if they have master balls mass produced for them, they potentially control all pokemon. no need for unnecessarily convoluted devices or methods to get what they need, they had a goal, it was simple, their menace is much less over the top, more tangible, more relatable, etc. compared to groups like magma/aqua, flare, galactic. Giovanni didnt have a hamhanded incomplete philosophy like cyrus or lysandre, he was a criminal that wanted profit, that had enough influence to control an entire region to do so. they owned the casino in one of the biggest cities in the game, so you could even imply they even had an effect or had a hand in the economy of the region, if they were allowed to take over silph co theyd be unstoppable. if pokemon had governments in their games, there would probably governors and senators that were members of team rocket, as in the games its shown how team rocket is in all types of industries legally and illegally, considering any type of recognizable authorities in the games would be the elite four and gym leaders and Giovanni had a whollle gym as a front for just one of his many bases around the region. hell, in the manga, half the gym leaders secretly work for team rocket.
they ruled the black market, from experimenting on pokemon to make the strongest, to stealing, to gambling, to marketing, to selling exotic animals to use or as food, etc. from the dirty lowly grunt work to controlling corporations, team rocket had their hand in everything. if pokemon wasnt so kid friendly we'd see rocket fleshed out in a lot more menacing scenarios, there would be prostitutes working for giovanni and harvesting pokemon organs n shit. team rocket would be doing black market abortions and givin bitches cheap butt injections, just gettin into anything and everything.
but this is just coming from someone who personally doesnt like the over the top and convoluted idealistic teams that pokemon does. i think their philosphies are often hamhanded or short sighted or shallow, and theyre way better at mob boss or crazy obsessed villains like Ghetsis, Giovanni, and Lusamine.

Honestly... Team Rocket kind of sucks. They're just so BLAND. They're just the bad guys there to be the bad guys, and they offer NOTHING to the plot except for being the 8th gym leader (and of course, occasionally blocking your way). All the other teams had actual ambitions. If I had to make a list (from worst to best), it would go Rocket, Flare (Lysandre was cool but not fleshed out enough, and the grunts were just plain stupid), Aqua and Magma (pretty similar opinions to yours except I think their ideas were kind of cool), Galactic (similar to Team Flare except I REALLY like Cyrus), Plasma (I found the moral dilemma they introduce in Black and White really interesting, and their civil war in B2W2 is also really cool). From what I've heard though, Team Skull and the Aether Foundation seem like they're going to be the best evil teams to date. Keep in mind that I haven't seen anything at all regarding Sun and Moon's story yet.
Top 6 Teams
1) Plasma- Their boss is a psychotic and truly evil bastard and they're like an even worse version of PETA. N also shoots them WAY up.
2) Galactic- Battles are challenging enough and can get tough without the right Pokemon. Their boss is kind of uninteresting though, which is the point, but still.
3) *Spoiler* Aether Foundation- Their president is straight up more psycho than Ghetsis... it's for very different, incredibly sad reasons, but still, she is. Still though, even though they try their damndest to hide their intentions, they instantly rubbed me the wrong way with how fake chipper most were.
4) *Spoiler* Skull- They're fricking hilarious and self aware that their team is basically just a bunch of Punk Kids trying to act tough, but laughably easy to fight and are ineffectual at best. Love the Admin, Plumeria, and how she basically acts like a serrogate mother.
5) Rocket- Only reason they're any good is because of the trio in the anime, and only with James and Meowth at that. (I HATE Jessie...) They're very betty basic and flat if you take out Gio and Silver.
6) Magma and Aqua- They do more than Rocket, but they relish in their own stupidity too much. They don't even realise raising the water levels or increasing land mass would kill everyone, including them.
6) Flare- They might be less accomplishing than Skull, and those guys are a bunch of Punk class Trainers. Plus they dress VERY loud and Lysandre was a weak boss.
HikerPokeSonic Girl U should put Aether and team skull together. after all Lusamine is like also taking control over Guzma. I love her the most as boss then Guzma.
HikerPokeSonic Girl Flare was so crap... Weakest boss then Giovanni weak to common type of Pokemon. Blastoise and Venusaur blows him like he was a dust..

goldengear1000 lol Jessie James and the talking Meowth are nothing more than comic relief in Generations 1-3, and Chimchar’s #1 fans in Gen 4. The real Team Rocket though, you need to watch Origins. While most of them try to bring out legendaries, Team Rocket just targets specific Pokémon: they expressed no remorse about killing Marowak in front of her baby Cubone, they were just angry because they lost money. They violently threw heartbroken people who went to pay their respects to their Pokémon out of the Pokémon Tower. And in File 3, Giovanni “admits” that Red had made him realize that he once loved Pokémon above all else (he does seem to have treated his Charmander well in that flashback). And Giovanni does say that he is going to disband Team Rocket because he’s realized that he wants to be the Charmander trainer he was as a boy (friend) and not the Rhyhorn trainer he is now (tool for business). However, we can all see that Giovanni lied to Red: he was going to revive Team Rocket when the time was right.

Team Plasma was my favourite. I liked how ghetsis just used Team Plasma to steal everyone's pokemon that they could and hid the truth by calling it liberation whilst he just planning to take over the world with little opposition. And the one person that became a real threat he just decided fuck it I'll kill them.

+TheSilverSlasher no problem, one last question about the pokemon border, how do you add your pokemon in as you go?
Create multiple png's that have the Pokémon (in whatever boxes/spaces they'll be in on the layout). Save an editable psd as you go, and each time you catch a new Pokémon, create a new png with it on there. Then place the png on top of the footage in Premiere.

Personally, I HATE how gamefreak is constantly trying to push the story on the player. It's devolving into constantly interrupting me playing the game. A story should never make the gameplay worse. Gameplay is always the most important factor.
Team Skull is going to be awesome. They seem to be just hooligans having fun and fighting against the system a bit.

To be honest, Team Magma is less evil than Team Aqua. In the anime, Maxie tells Tabitha that they were fools to try to control Groudon’s power, whereas Archie has no qualms about the death of his own grunts/Shelly when Maxie told him that there were many Pokémon and his own people on that island. That’s also the case in Emerald, when Steven finally persuades Maxie and Tabitha that they are wrong, and they are willing to help you against Archie at the end.
Plot twist:
Giovanni is the grandson of Adolf Hitler.
Silver's Brother is the North Korean Dictator.

Ollio Michaels Giovanni is a push over, what are you talking about? Team rocket flat sucks and sure their leader is very strong but he's not evil to the core. Cyrus and lysandre and ghetsis are all very evil but as much as I love Cyrus, ghetsis is by far the best. He is relentless and even resorts to underhanded methods unlike any other evil leader

What happend to Lysander and cyrus
Here's my personal top but with Team Skull, Aether Foundation and Cipher
8-Team Magma/Aqua : Stupids eco-terrorists with a dumb leader, ugly outfits : Basically Team Pirate-cosplay and Team Sweaters.
7-Team Rocket : "Oh look at us, we are evil ! Because...uh...Money ? Yay ! money !"
6-Team Flare : Reddish nazis but *_with style_*_, oui monsieur nous sommes français nous sommes beaux_
5-Team Cipher : I really love their themes and their outfits, but the goal is a little basic. BUT the shadow Pokémon idea is pure evil.
4-Aether Foundation : In fact this is a totally normal foundation. But the president is crazy so ALL the foundation obeys to her. She has frozen THOUSANDS of Pokémon just because an alien Jellifysh. BEST WOMAN OF THE YEAR.
3-Team Skull : I love them because they haven't any goal : Just random guys and girls making trouble, for fun. They are hilarious.
2-Team Plasma : All is said in the video.
1-Team Galactic : I LOVE THEM. The musics, the headquarters, Cyrus and his emo trip "Emotions are bad. I'm a god. F**k the world" are awesome. This is not an organization, this is a sect. Cyrus is the biggest liar of all time : Even his commanders doesn't know his motivations.

In your first battle with Plasma they explain why they are using them, so that argument is a little dead (I realize this video is old)
