- Hey guys welcome to some of the saddest moments ever witnessed in the Pokemon Anime! This list contains my opinion of the saddest moments from the whole entire Pokemon anime. These moments really put me in the feels as a kid, a teenager, and even as an adult today. Of course these are my own opinions and you may not agree so go ahead and put yours in the comments below!

I opend this video hoping to see that cuz for me thats the saddest part from all Pokemon series...(also Lucario its my favourite pokemon) i cry everytime i watch that movie...
When the red goo was absorbing everyone and Ash tells Pikachu he loves him before he gets absorbed.
In “Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!”, when Pikachu was crying “Pika Pi”, he was saying Ash’s name, which adds to the fact that it’s like watching a toddler find out that there dad died.
That's pretty much every time Ash had died
Ash = Satoshi (japanese)
Pika pi = Satoshi = Ash
Pikachu also screamed "pika pi" in the first movie when ash is turned to stone
That wasn’t sad at all it was new it has nothing on the heroes movie or James growlithe
Mystic you can't forget the symbolism of the tree in that episode. As stoutland gets closer and closer to death, the leaves on the trees fall off. When it is revealed that stoutland is nowhere to be found, the final leaf falls. That's what got me in that episode.
It was such an amazing episode with the symbolism. That what made it to me 100 times worst.

Tdrf 9 I cried whenever I watch this. It's one of the many examples that prove that jessie and James no matter how mean they can be. they truly love their pokemon and their friendship with them

yes i agree but I no crap had to shut down my computer and just try to stop crying during that mallow episode I almost had that happen to but instead of my mom it was my grandmother.
I cried in 2 episodes..
-The episode when Lillie talks to her mother when she was with the ultra beast ( I forgot how to spell it’s name )
-The episode where Mallow meets her dead mother in Tapu Fini’s mist

One of the saddest moments in the anime is Darkrai’s death in Pokémon: The Rise of Darkrai.

Darkrai was one of my favorites so it really made me tear up

I feel the same for the 20th movie, Pokemon I Choose You. When Ash sacrificed himself to save Pikachu from all the corrupted Pokemon, I was sad.
There's a few that I thought of that have already been commented, but one moment that truly made me cry was Espurr. In X and Y, our heroes come across a house that appears to be haunted. They discover the cause to be an Espurr using Psychic to play with the heroes because it's lonely. The old woman that cared for the Espurr mysteriously disappeared one day after leaving her pendant with it, and Espurr has been patiently waiting in her mansion ever since. It's later revealed that the old woman had passed away soon after leaving Espurr. That...that made me cry.
I got sad but did not cry -w- cause I only have a heart to Lucario and Greninja sorry

Because the Team Rocket dude somehow stole Elliott Electron's taser, which is so strong that it can hit ground types. I heard on a video that if electricity becomes strong enough, it turns insulators into conductors and still hits you no matter what. And Elliott's taser is pretty powerful................
I cry every time I see the scene when Ash dies and Pikachu shocks him and shocks him, but then realizes his best friend is gone. I cry EVERY SINGLE TIME. Like just now.

What about May and Max's departure? May decided to go to the Johto region by herself, and Max was not taking it well. All he wanted was to grow up faster so he could become a trainer and keep traveling. Ash promised a battle with Max once he became a trainer, and it still hasn't happened. Plus, May is my favorite pokegirl, and seeing her leave made me sad.
Yeah I have a soft spot for May and Max's departure for the reasons you just said. What I also really like about this one is that it takes place in the first five minutes of the episode, so after they're gone, you're sort of left with this slightly melancholy feeling as Ash makes it back to Pallet Town since the departure is still fresh in your mind. And then there's the whole thing with Gary defeating Ash and telling him that he can't relax just because he beat the Battle Frontier. The whole episode kinda makes you realise that Ash proved himself to be a very strong trainer while he had his friends with him, but it's almost like that's not important anymore because it's back to square one.

There are so many sad things in the Hoenn and Battle Frontier seasons of the anime, it's surprising that more people don't talk about them. Between Do I Hear a Ralts, Sweet Baby James, and the Manaphy movie, thise are all pieces that have a heart breaking scene, often accompanied with a hesrt wrenching song. The ralts episode is imbedded in my memory forever. James leaving his chimecho just tore my heart apart. And then we got Manaphy telling May that it loves her right before leaving. WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO US!?

I think he's just trying to emphasize how the pokemon fighting one another is resulting into nothing but pain.
i completely agree with number one, because the first time i saw stoutland i thought it would die, then it didnt and wasnt seen for a few episodes, so i was relieved.....then there was another episode, and what do you know. It dies and.......someone started cutting onions......

When clembot lost his memory I cried and I never cry in movies or shows
I cried through out the last episode of pokemon xyz because it was my favorite pokemon anime. And just seeing Ash going back to Kanto and Serena going to Hoenn made me cry. Even seeing Dedenne sad at the airport because it didnt want to say goodbye to everyone. Even Ash's Hawlucha cried, and Hawlucha never cries! I will forever miss pokemon xyz! (cries)

"Gotta Catch Ya Later" made me cry. Sure, Brock came back and Misty showed up for some special episodes but it really was the end of an era. The anime was never the same to me after that. That doesn't mean the anime is worse than it used to be. It's just different -not the show I watched as a little kid.

You might as well include the episode of Sun and Moon when Ash, Lillie and Mallow got trapped in Tapu Fini's mist. I'm referring specifically to Mallow making amends with her dead mother. This episode brought me to tears because I never got to say goodbye to my grandma ( mom's side). She was the one who taught me how to cook and have fun doing it. I never really got the chance to thank her for what she did. I cried every time I saw that episode baring a heavy heart in her memory.

Honestly I don't know what I find more heart wrenching, watching someone slowly die, or dying in a single instant... i guess it's based on circumstances, Ash freezing to death is a lot more horrifying to me because I know that there have been people that suffered an actual fate like that, as opposed to Ash being exploded by Mew and Mewtwo, because that doesn't happen, the sense of realism that came from Ash freezing nearly to death had more of an impact because it felt so real.

Hitting me hard with that first one on your list. I remember sitting in the car on the way to my grandmother's place with Pikachu's Goodbye playing. I looked out the window and sobbed. I still do. It is one of the few episodes I absolutely REFUSE to watch and you putting it as the first on the list (not number one) broke me.
