- In this video I talk about the latest fragrance from the Chanel Les Exclusifs line - Comete EDP.
About me - I'm Claire and I live in the UK. My taste in perfumes is usually quite sweet but not too sweet, I love white florals but not tuberose so much. I like gourmands as long as they smell like perfumes still, I require my perfumes to change a little bit as I wear them ie not linear. I don't enjoy oud, leather, cumin, saffron or strong patchouli however there can be occasions where I do like perfumes with these notes if they are not too dominant. I enjoy most florals as long as they are backed up with something sweet or perhaps resins / insense. I tend to not enjoy anything very soapy. I also don't really enjoy very green fragrances. I am averse to overdoses of ambroxan and iso E super (timbersilk or similar) just because I find it annoying! I have no problem with synthetics in perfumery but I do enjoy perfumes that have some notes that at least smell like they could be from nature. My favourite type of perfumery is indie and I love Francesca Bianchi, Teone Reinthal, 4160 Tuesdays and Papillon Artisan Perfumes.

I’m a sucker for a well done musky dry down and Polge really excels at it, so this won me over. Also I more and more appreciate a lot of fragrances (especially Chanel) for what they are NOT. Not too sweet no overused aroma chemicals etc.

I’m glad I’m not the only one re certain aroma chemicals, I’m starting to sound like a broken record but it’s so important to me to mention it as they ruin a fragrance for me.

I didn’t know about the notes in Comete and thought was a gentle white floral before I sprayed it. I was positively surprised and thought “powdery sweet confection iris”
I’m coveting this and La Pausa.

I find it's quite similar to Guerlain Rose Cherie and also Bienaime' La Vie En Fleurs. I'm on the fence on whether to buy it or not as I can't smell Comete on me after awhile. I agree that you almost have to overspray it. I agree completely with your opinion on Comete.

Sweet almond extract definitely sounds like a mass-appealing opening. I think Le Lion was a bit mass appealing too, sweeter and more resinous than leathery. I don't know why - I'm really skeptical about it, maybe all the hype. It does sound nice though, I like a powdery violet/iris almond scent. Thanks Claire for the first impression, and am looking forward to your full review.

Hi all! I’m also waiting for my cameta, my daughter will bring it to me from London, £215 75 ml. I took it without testing, just based on the notes. I think I’ll like it. although today Chanel is very, very expensive.

I sampled this in store when I purchased my 31 Rue Cambon bottle, thought it was nice but rather generic and certainly not worth the extraordinary price Chanel now put on their Les Exclusif range

Those body oils are soo expensive... I got my Comete from JL for £169 as members weeks plus 15 percent off.
Yes they truly are a luxury item and not something I can justify, now if I won the lottery then I may indulge!

Well, it's unkillable on fabrics, it's 4th day and it's still on my jacket sleeve, and still projects and contaminates the skin! I am in disappointed league due to 2 reasons: first, it's not Chanel-like scent, it's sooo mass appealing and modern, second, it's like something forgettable and non-descript to the point that I feel uncomfortable. Oh, and three, - it made my nose ache inside when I was breathing it in during the first hour or two, like physical overstimulation thing. I am almost angry at Chanel for making us wait 2 years and producing such a mediocre perfume and sticking it into Exclusifs line.
