I was there. Waited outside all day in the hot sun. There was a sign posted on the door warning of the extremely high decibel levels. It was insanely LOUD. Very exciting to be there as they were filming the Kickstart My Heart video, and this was the band’s very first show since the release of Dr Feelgood (the #1 album at the time).
First time they performed since the release of the Dr feelgood album. This song is from that album which means it would all be the same year so it wasn't very long since they last performed live. And there was like 30 seconds worth of video from this live performance in the Kickstart video.
Yeah I saw this tour when it came to Murfreesboro Tn. at Murphy Center on the MTSU campus. It was a smaller venue. My ears rang for days! To this day it was the loudest show I ever saw. It was called The Mother Fu**in, Ass Kickin, Ear Splittin, Loudest Tour On Earth.
I never got it myself. They had one song. Said song sucked but made the record company money hence the opportunities. The label had to think they had more gas in the tank in order to justify tour support of that magnitude. Lots of little known bands got a shot at opening for some huge bands in the 80s. As far as I know Autograph was a bunch of studio musicians that were sick of not seeing their name/picture on a album. It was just a manufactured piece of commercial product, ment to appeal to MTV and its tenny bopper audience.
So I’m taking it that clips from this is what was in the kick start my heart video. I’m 51 and been a CRÜE fan since shout came out. I was 11 years old and they blew my mind and will forever be a fan. That old motley was the best
I'm going to try listening with ear buds. Here is a question for anyone who was there or at a crue show at a similar size venue. Was Nikkis bass audible. I hear a lot of shit about his skill or lack of on bass guitar. I'm a long time bassist myself so I'd like to hear him and judge for myself.
Wouldn’t be surprised if Nikki was faking it here also… probably had a real musician backstage playing for him…. If it wasn’t for Vince’s good looks back then and micks guitar playing this band would have still been nothing but a high school party band and would be selling cars at a used car lot LmAo
Stop with the nonsense about Nikki not playing and as if Tommy isn’t one of the best rock drummers out there. Nikki became a good bass player and has always been a great songwriter. No nikki no motley

I can’t believe I just found this
MOTLEY CRUE. I GREW UP WITH THIS BAND. TRUE ROCK & ROLL.
I saw Motley Crue on the Theatre of Pain tour in Vegas. Autograph opened.
On the UK tour Cheap Trick opened!
I dont know why Autograph got so many breaks, they opened for VH on the 1984 tour, they suck

80s rock at its pinnacle! Love it
There must be a pro shot of this concert out there
that's what I was thinking.
That concert was a warm-up for the dr feelgod tour and a large part of the music video for kikcksart my heart was recorded precisely there
Mick with that gorgeous mirrored Telecaster!!!
Just like in the Kickstart my Heart video, Mötley F**king Crüe my Favorite band 🤘🏽😛🤘🏽
This footage needs a remaster, like some older stuff from the 70's & 80's that sounded like junk, Make it happen.
Many thanks for sharing this very rare show ! 1st Date of the Dr. Feelgood tour !👍🤘🤟🤙💫
Wow Vince is actually singing and not out of breath. He was wild as a young man.
Wow, hard to believe...
OMG! Been searching for this for months! Why have I only found it today?! Thanks for sharing it! Were you there? Must've been an awesome experience!
A real old school bootleg! Filmed with hidden camera 🤘
Sweet, Thanks for the upload man!
Right On🖤💯
To bad there is not a pro shot of this.
Where's that guys footage rom on stage !?!?
Vince says to the crowd before playing Piece of Your Action that "this is being filmed tonight". Wonder if it's something they have in the vault?
This was when they filmed the Kickstart My Heart video!
When Vince could actually move....
Where have the years gone?
"Where have all the good times gone" !!! \m/
Yea, I know. I was 23 in 1989.
Imagine Vince wearing those Butt Chaps today. 🤣
Back when Vince could sing
@2:58 you hear "OOH AH" with no one's face near the mike. I can't.
you do know Tommy's got a headset mike??
They used tapes. And still do 30 yrs later they didn’t want to admit but Mick himself said so.
Vince is lip syncing.
It's definitely live. Listen to them mess up the intro to Red Hot. Mick comes in out of time and it throws Vince singing "1,2,3,4!" So he's early.
Sound quality is awful but I can tell that vince could at least sing at this point in time
Alright gigadeee goo,, when a whole decade was cool, fun, n rockin,,,no sensitive weak bi polar weak flesh creatures
Sound is shity but they sound GREAT!
What is jigsaw jimmy loll
Already well past their prime.
How? They were still in their 20s and only been a band for 8 years. Iv'e seen them live many times and the Feelgood tour was the best by a mile!
This was probably their best era as a live band lol. Still sober following their rehab stints, and Vince’s voice wasn’t shot yet.
Wouldn’t be surprised if Nikki was faking it here also… probably had a real musician backstage playing for him…. If it wasn’t for Vince’s good looks back then and micks guitar playing this band would have still been nothing but a high school party band and would be selling cars at a used car lot LmAo
You forget that Nikki is a phenomenal music writer and Tommy is a live package of energy as a drummer.
Hope your car sale goes well! 😂
Stop with the nonsense about Nikki not playing and as if Tommy isn’t one of the best rock drummers out there. Nikki became a good bass player and has always been a great songwriter. No nikki no motley
I hate this band but it really must've been cool to witness them in their hay day
Theres definitely better glam metal bands out there
Vince is wearing assless chaps. Watch when he turns around. What the hell? Kind of ruins the whole vibe.
All chaps are assless…
I can't watch them so bad and awfull
Baffoonery
