They probably didn't allow any filming for fear that someone would show it to a news outlet and reveal what they looked like. KISS did not record in makeup.
I have a feeling that management didn't have time to set up video recording because the band was very busy with planning the next 6 months. Then you had the issue where the band didn't spend much time in the studio because the next tour was booked. Hindsight is 20/20 and I'm sure Kiss should have or could have but it was not in the cards
@@louisborselio8608......for fear to show that the real guitar player was Dick Wagner or Bob Kulick and the real drummer was Anton Fig....original line up began dismantling already in '76......
I remember these vividly. What a great times when we heard a new KISS music. A to my ear... a good KISS music. I really, really like Sonic Boom. Sadly can't say these praises about Monster.
Gene's bass tone is so damn good. Classic, looks like his Ripper through an SVT. Thought it might be the Grabber but that one has 2 pickups so it's definitely a Ripper. Can't see the varitone switch due to the lighting. Everyone sounds great.
Those last 2 KISS were not to be big time sellers like those classic 70s KISS albums. No original lineup on both of the albums but Sonic Boom was the closest sound to the original lineup on all the songs from the 70s KISS albums
Hardly anyone buys CDs anymore so obviously sales are never going to be as good as when physical media was the only way to access music. I know streams are being counted in certifications now but it takes a ton of them to equal one sold record
Sonic Boom and Monster are ok but not even in my top 20 kiss albums and both failed to make Gold ! This line up was together 22 yrs and had only 2 new studio albums and failed to make single gold record ! I know it hard to get Gold records today But still find it odd they call sell tickets at live shows but can't sell a Gold record since Psycho Circus !?
We need footage like this from the 70’s! ❤

Preferably from the ‘78 solo albums with all the other great names.

i know it's not the same thing, but there's footage of KISS playing at Ace's wedding 1976. That's pretty cool to see.

Great to see KISS in their creative process. You can see their dedication in producing the best that they can, which is what everyone wants, the best!

I agree. Sonic Boom is a far better album than Monster.
KISS!!! My favourite band, and with one their last albums EVER. The hottest band in the band in the world
And one of their best
Awesome!...KISS FOREVER!!!!🤟🏼🎸🍻
Underrated album that has some great tracks on it.
True
i liked it better then monster tbh
Sonic Boom got that classic sound from 70's records kiss.❤ much better than Monster album
👍🏻🇫🇷
i feel like it's a mix of 70s and 80s kiss TBH Monster sounds more 70s to me. but the songs are better on SB.
I Wish you all the best and good luck for your Concert Gene ❤

Great, it's very interesting how they record the songs
i wish nothing more than that they would have kept making new albums ever 2-3 years
Greg Collins and Paul Stanley are both credited as producers. I assume Greg Collins done the producing while Paul Stanley had final say??
You don’t have to be behind the board to act as producer.
A top 7 Kiss album of mine it's a mix of 80s kiss and 70s Kiss
Everything released up to Double Platinum is the cream of the crop, especially the first three albums.
Friends forever ❤❤
Gotta Say I Loved Monster Too.

@@smokesletsgo2374 absolutely. You can sample songs from the album, and go back to the ones you like, and play them over and over.
They Care for eachother
I like the Gibson Guitars All Over The Place . Les Paul and Ripper .
Like to see footage from the 80s
When the recording needs to be great, no flashy guitars....break out the old Les Pauls!
I was only able to watch the first half of this video. I can't wait for the new record, when is it due out?

They both got gold
@@anthonytucker8913 Sonic Boom and Monster never went gold in US , check again
Sonic Boom was the highest charting KISS album ever.
@@philmccracken7520 so, it went gold in Norway, it charted high
Recorded music isn't selling like it used to. Streaming has taken over.
Sonic Boom was Far better than Monster…
No kiss album will be better than Lick it up.
Apart from Destroyer, Love Gun, Alive, Kiss, Creatures of the Night, Hotter Than Hell, yes I agree 😂
Lick It Up is a great album, but I don't consider it their best. I'd give that honor to Rock N Roll Over.
@charliec5653 never really heard much of that one, I'm sure I've heard some songs that was on it. Have to take some time to listen to the whole thing
