I noticed that you have your bag hooked on the front straps on their shortest loops. This is the same way that my bag was shipped to me, and it took me a little while to see that there are multiple loops on the front straps that you can hook the metal fitting into. It was nice to know that the bag has these adjustment loops on the front straps. Nice review.
Great video, this is one I have been considering, the video helped clear some questions. What knife do you have attached, seems very compact. Thank you.
Thank you. Glad to help. That was the gerber principle. Not a bad knife but a bit of a challenge keeping wicked sharp. Nice sheath system that is very versatile although a bit noisy and clunky. Here is a link for a review I did awhile ago. ua-cam.com/video/s0twvBuTHY8/v-deo.html
Great review. I have been looking for something similar for dirt biking and rucking, but your concerns makes me think I still haven’t found the right item. Thanks!
@@mtnboy123 Damn, I want to like it as it’s the only basic bitch thing I’ve seen that doesnt scream tacticool lol. I’ll check out the 5.11- I was just thinking about using a low profile chest rig that’s just molle ribbons instead tho. It gets hot as fuck here so I just need everything in one deal..
Depends what I want it to do? I think the HPG is a bit more versatile and better build quality but I like the materials and inovation of the Viktos. Check out fhf gear. Their older chest rig is on sale for $72 for an American made, high quality chestcrig.
@@mtnboy123 thanks for the tip. Always looking for other options. It's too bad fhf is out of first generation chest rig. But I'll check out the 2nd gen . Thanks again
@@stufftofu I like the 5.11 skyline. For the $ it is a really nice pack. Plus it is a little smaller. I prefer them a bit smaller to minimize sweat. 5.11 Sky Weight Chest Pack ua-cam.com/video/A-kxnsWwTdc/v-deo.html
@@mtnboy123 I have the 511 sky weight, looking for something a tab bigger. I leaning towards the viktos because of the options to wear it like a sling/messenger bag. Before I got the sky weight. I was using the 511 lv6 as a sling then move up to a chest rig.
I pretty much rely upon my iPhone 12 or 13 for everything now. I still have an older Nikon dlsr but only ever pull it out for landscape or lower light applications. I have a shoe box of various point and shoots from over the years that I should find a home for.
Pistol draw is from the right. Knife lays flat against the back and even provides a little structure to the kit bag. It is more of an up and out draw. I just like how everything is tucked away and clean.
It doesn’t have the fastex buckles. I would just take some elastic straps and try to tie in with mini carabiners. For me, I don’t really have a problem with it bouncing but I don’t run with it.
It took me awhile to understand the context. SOE makes some nice stuff but I would more directly compare it to Hill People Gear or other more tactical manufacters in design and materials use. The Viktos chest pack is a really different creation than SOE's chest Rig. Maybe closer to the SOE FUPA except with a chest harness.

Thank you for watching. I saw that and like to ride it higher up on my chest. If I was running it as a bandolier for mags, I’d probably run it lower.

Looks like 5.11 just came out with two chest rigs. One small and one larger. Prices are good.
@@mtnboy123 for the heads up! Do you intend on reviewing those as well?
@@freedom2ignite I ended up returning the Viktos and ordered the larger 5.11. Should be here tomorrow.

Great video! What camera were you using to fit in with your edc?

Why would you put that fixed blade above your weapon like that? Seems like it would impead the draw?
Pistol draw is from the right. Knife lays flat against the back and even provides a little structure to the kit bag. It is more of an up and out draw. I just like how everything is tucked away and clean.
Will the HPG stabilizer strap work with this bag?
