I’ve been debating on a chest rig over a back pack but I think this in conjunction with a pack is the way I’ll go. I do like the accessibility factor for actual emergency gear.
The red medical rig would be perfect for work. I think it has like a shelf system where you can work with all the tools with it open? Either way, they have a lot of great stuff over there.
I've never really been into chest rigs and those are out of my price range for what it is. When I do hike, I carry a DDT sling pack which holds everything I need. I always carry my firearm on my hip also, easier access if I need it also, for me anyways. I'm also in the process of moving and it's been delayed three times now so everything is still packed up, so I haven't sent the 4 in yet. Plus I ordered new scales for it so I'll probably wait until I get those as well before mailing it to you. Thank you again for the giveaway!

Every bit of my gear was stolen and through some friends and really good people, I've ended up with five packs and I've been able to replace the majority of it. So switching from pack to pack to see what works best was a hassle, but no complaints because I could still be stuck with none. I ended up going with the ddt sling for edc and hiking (I basically carry the same gear) and a camelbak a guy gave me for camping and day trips. Appreciate that man, but changing the colors on it lol. I think od green and black.. Or tan.. I don't know.. Haha

For me it's black and orange, black/red and camo. Depends on my mood lol. But I absolutely love this Harley 4 setup I have. But I think I've mentioned that a time or two or three 😂

That's where I'm at exactly. I just prefer concealed carry to keep the element of surprise if I need it. It's bad enough we have to go up against mass shooters with ars with our single stack and compact 9mms, so I generally like to take any tactical advantage I can get. If you're going gray man, I'd suggest not getting a chest rig with the mole webbing. Check the HPG site out there. They have a ton of (pricey but quality) stuff.
I also love that you can leave 2 zippers in the top right corner, kinda opened, with 2 thumb width space in-between, so you can open CCW compartment much faster.
If you want to carry wothout people knowing in a bag grab a multicolored jansport or nike bag and throw a ar pistol with a folding brace in it good to go

I understand wearing a chest rig, but I don't understand three blades and two lights in the rig. When I am walking at night, I don't use a light because my eyes will adjust. I do use a light while working on something. Your dragon scales looks great.
3 is 2. 2 is 1. 1 is none. My chest rig is set up for bugging out and I keep all my packs loaded while hiking to adjust to the weight. PLus I'm strong enough to carry it all just fine so it makes me happy knowing I have everything. I'm often with other people so I bring enough gear to hook them up if needed too. And thanks!
I keep a small poncho in mine... and usually use it with a backpack... or carabiner might work. Just roll up the sweater and attach it by the straps underneath?
Excatly! This generally rides in my maxpedition pygmy 2 pack but for hikes, I paired it with a water bottle sling and 32oz was just barely enough. I also have a backpack with a 2l bladder I just picked up but the plastic taste was killin me. This could be helpful for a ton fo different things I think. You should keep both zippers of the firearm compartment to the top corner of your dominant hand and it needs a pull tab sewed into that corner so you just pull it down and the zippers go their ways so you can get to the firearm/pistol as fast as possible.
Agree w add water solution and then throw in a e-blanket then some high protein bars and you will have a 48-72 ht emergency kit. Ok mebbe a few other things …
Would you recommend a paddle holster inside? Something that has the big flap to kinda absorb the small pokey spots? I’d be worried about pressure points.
Now there's a good question... I would say even a double stack compact (12-15rds) is a chunker in there and you do feel it so the paddle holster would have to be suuuuper thin otherwise you'd have an issue. This could also be when you have a bunch of stuff int he front pouch too. If you keep that load minimal, it might give you some more room for the firearm. I recommend something like the shield plus or 365xl. Something like that OR carry your gun in appendix concealed like in an appendix rig with an extra mag sidecar, and just use this pack for extra mags and your various survival nick snacks, it might be the way. Basically, it's a never ending quest for the perfect concealed carry. In over 20 plus years of daily carry, I've never figured out a perfect system. I'm starting to lean towards open carry shoulder rigs lately though. As for the gun community, I'm always split. Half my 2A brothers are cool, the other half are hurting our image with anti gun types and act like total assholes online to each other. The knife community (although there is a ton of cross over) is MUCH MUCH cooler as a whole., so i try to stay out of gun talk with most folks. Just as bad as bringing up politics or religion now. Sorry for the rant, but you got me thinking...
More importantly i would loop a jokster simply to cover the trigger in case theres anything else like a pen in the same bag as the gun... very important oversight. Please run a holster even a soft loose one is better than nothing. AWESOME CHEST RIG! Im trying to decide vetween this and the viktos one.
Love mine. Have had it for several years and is a goto piece of kit. I put a piece of ABS plastic inside so you don't feel the gear poking you in the chest. Wish I would've had this as a sniper.
I got one similar to this one and it's very convenient. I'm a truck driver and I got mine during the pandemic because I kept forgetting my mask when stopping at a truck stop and it was a real pain to get to the door then having to turn around and walk all the way back to my truck to get my mask. But I also found so many other uses for it. I keep my flashlight, wallet, spare keys, small tools, reading glasses, a pocket knife, extra pens, chapstick, a notepad, and other miscellaneous items. It's great because I know I'll never lose anything and it saves me alot of time not having to rummage around the truck looking for things.
I keep one for fire starting in bad conditions and to apply to burns, another one for me rips. lol (Also it's dry as hell where I live, so I drink about a gallon of water a day too.)

I hike a lot on casual trails, so sometimes I don't want to open carry and draw attention, but in the times where I feel I'd need something quickly, i switch to appendix carry while wearing this puppy. 👍

Don't know that one, but I had mine for a couple years now and it shows no wear. I'm not a fan of sling bags though. Bothers me over so many miles.
I added a kydex and leather holster to the inside of my bag, great set up and very comfortable.
I have one and its awesome use it when I take my dogs walking very comfortable and useful to carry so many things.

People seem to be chapstick people or not, not too many people it seems use it just sometimes. Perhaps its addictive.

I like the pack but I would not have my weapon in there. My firearm would be in a side holster when seconds count.
I hike a lot on casual trails, so sometimes I don't want to open carry and draw attention, but in the times where I feel I'd need something quickly, i switch to appendix carry while wearing this puppy. 👍
@@5MinuteKnives I understand that. But you never know what kind of wildlife you'll encounter. I live in Texas so you never know you might come across a rattlesnake, Copperhead, black bear wild boar.

At the midpoint I realized what I was doing with the limited time nature has provided me. At that point I realized I was watching a massive knife and gun fellow and I would not want to walk nearby (unless I met a demented version oh why need to use HIS weapons on me).
Somehow I just know that the man on the screen would be delighted I met some kind of threat that he could step in and take efficient care of. disagree. Depends on your income I guess, But I've been thrilled with how mine has held up to abuse ever since. Still looks brand new but is broken in really nice. I'd be willing to try different products for this but this piece of gear has served me very well so far...
