I'll be honest, Sainz's overtake in Monaco was BALLSY! He's been very impressive this season.

Verstappen’s overtake on Leclerc should definitely not be #1. It wasn’t a difficult part of the track to overtake on, it wasn’t super clean and it required contact...I would have ranked it #5. The circumstances made it amazing but the move itself wasn’t anything spectacular.
Tbh it not a number 1 overtake but i think they left out allot of other overtakes so. becuase ifind the over take of verstappen en vettel the best overtake of that austrian grand prix
It shouldn't be on the list at all, really. Circumstance made it awesome. The move in itself was pretty meh.
It was a clean overtake, it was Leclerc that caused the contact.
Mitchell-Wallis Force exactly, the circumstances of Verstappen catching the whole field and finally passing leclerc a few laps before the end made it super hype, but the overtake itself was average. Leclerc’s overtake on Gasly at silverstone was sooo much cleaner and better executed

So what? You still have to avoid crashing with so many cars around you in heavy rain, when you want to overtake very fast. And you also have to avoid crashing like Leclerc did later in that race.

For me Sainz in Monaco is the most difficult. Blink and you crash!
How is it difficult if there's another car in front blockign the Toro Rosso?
These are way different cars with tons of grip, traction and what not. It's not that hard. It is nowhere near as hard as the variety of other overtakes we saw in this top 10.
@@Firemarioflower Because it was an opportunistic move done right in arguably the hardest track to overtake unlike most of the other over takes where they are coming like a freight train using DRS.

@@randomyoutubehandle1 of course, but it's not an incredible overtake. It was a good strategy combined with superb driving from Hamilton, but in the end when he eventually came close to Verstappen the overtake wasn't really that hard to pull off. I think that's why it's not in the video

Only because Crofty is so far up Albons ass, because he’s semi British, Kvyat out drove him all year so far and Crofty gives Kvyat no recognition what so ever.
People are too harsh on Croft sometimes. He is human after all. Plus I think he does help lift the spirit in a race. I especially loved his commentary this year when Leclerc went through parabolica to win in Monza.

The one on Norris was way better.Imo if he hadnt crashed during the same move on Hulk then probably the overtake would have been in the top ten.It was more Grosjean surprised rather than a move.Hulk was told about the move in Grosjean,didnt open the door and Leclerc crashed

If top in top overtakes means "the most challenging ones", then Sainz should be at the top. Those kind of moves in Monaco are mostly seen in Racing games but he made it work in Real Racing. Absolute top class stuff!

Number 1 overtake is there just to create hype and conflict between F1 fans... I think there are at least a dozen better moves

While the move itself was more significant than any other in the video (for the win), or should never have made it. Loads better

-Leclerc on Grosjean at Monaco missing
-n.8 was a pure DRS overtake
-n.1 is nowhere near being the best overtake, Verstappen did a way better move the lap before where Leclerc gave him way less space on the inside, here Leclerc deliberately gave Verstappen the inside line since he thought he could re-overtake him like he did the previous lap
Edit: Norris' overtake on Gasly in Bahrain should be there too, that one is probably the most underrated overtake, it didn't even make it to the top on boards in Bahrain

Think the same but the goal of redbull is to make Max becoming world champion. Kvyiat shows great things and Max needs a good team mate. Not à rival... so the future of Daniil is maybe not with Redbull...

@@swiftfx6928 Kvyat beaten Ricciardo, Max was evenly matched with Ricciardo. Of course now Max progressed a lot as a driver, but anyways I feel like Kvyat would've battled him quit hard.
@@musicgonnahelpme Yes he would. Kvyat is a beast. He was humiliating Raikkönen in 2014 who drove a Ferrari but Kvyat in the Toro Rosso passed him several times that season. When he's got everything under control he can even challenge Hamliton or come close to Vettel (not the early 2016 kind of close PLZ)

That would be in Top 10 BATTLES, but it's not gonna land in Top 10 Overtakes since Kvyat faced a hard challenge.
He has the same way of driving like before: Pushing to the limits.
However he does less and less mistakes, which is super nice

Totaly agree, best so far. Wheel to wheel 1/3 of the lap. It was amazing. Why they didn't include this move. I dont get it. Maybe they thought it would be to much of Kvyat for this video. But probably they can just replace Kvyat vs Sainz CAN for Kvyat vs Albon HUN.

I feel F1 is putting Max front and centre but there is no way that overtake on Leclerc was as good as Kvyat's or Sainz's moves. I am not hating on Max but come on.

ATAG_Flare yep, thats what I thought. Kvyat albon in hungary and kimi on kmag were imho top2 so far. After watching this vid I got a feeling they are trying to show rookies as if they were superior, whereas most of these movea are juat generic drs and not that impressive divebombs..

Firemarioflower It’s a battle. An overtake is a clean move that can be done within 1-2 corners with near to no *effective* defense from the car behind. A battle is usually where one car goes side-by-side with the other car, with the defensive car still putting up a good fight against the offensive one. These can either be short-term battles (Battles that last for 3-5 corners) or long-term battles (Battles that last for laps). Kvyat and Albon had a *battle* because Albon was effectively equal with Kvyat in terms of his defense from the speeding torpedo. Kvyat’s offense was always there for Albon, and he did eventually get it.

How about you, everytime Vettel tries to overtake someone he crashes into them.
@@galactic_nerd-sk4747 So true, there's a reason Hamilton has more championships than Vettel, and it's not the car. Last season Vettel should have won, but he lost over 100 points to his own bad driving, the amount of times Vettel found himself with a penalty or facing backwards was more than the amount of crashes Max caused that season. Vettel had the faster car (not anymore)
Mercedes had the better driver (Max and Leclerc are showing promise though, especially Max, the only driver so far to stop Mercedes winning grand prix this season in a car that struggles on power, no offense Honda, the other teams just have been in this a lot longer, you're getting there though, keep it up!)
Totally disagree on number 1. Also overtake with Verstappen pushing Leclerc out is not a great overtake on my book.
César Mendes was for the lead a couple laps from the end of the race if I remember correctly, maybe it’s why it’s there, idk
You mean Leclerc completely giving up the corner, then suddenly remembering he was racing and driving into Verstappen? Inside of the corner is sacred when defending (and he would have defended the inside had there been a wall or gravel trap on the exit) and Leclerc forgot about it. And dont say he did the same the lap before because he didnt, he was two car widths more to the inside the lap before, which was why he kept his position that time.

Yeah! The best overtake was actually the best way take a rival out of the track. But, that's how the majority of the fans wants F1: no rules. Let them crash each others.
Freeze014 no it was leclerc going for the better speed on the second straight, verstappen not letting him do that, lec seeing the trak was over tries to keep the speed and get some space, but verstappen didnt give a fuck

F1 take more importance in the driver reputation than the actual overtakes, 1# leclerc on gasly silverstone, 2# leclerc on grosjean monaco, 3# albon vs kvyat hungary... top three in my opinion
