Vettel's teamradio on lap 24 'my rears are overheating' basically is him trying to get called into the pits so he wouldn't get undercutted by his teammate. Ferrari left him out untill lap 27, which meant he got behind Charles.
And that’s also the lap he retired (lap 27)

@@SHZAli07 I usually take mechanical issues to be the team's fault, as opposed to the driver's. Of course, it's sometimes just bad luck, but since we aren't privy to the specifics of the car's internals, we can't definitively say it was.

@@BlueFlagAlpha The pit crew didn't do anything, Vettel was mad about the swap so he decided to stop. And being as smart as he is he knew if he stopped there Charles wouldn't win. If it really was an MGU-K issue he could have made it to the pit and save the win for Ferrari. In his interview you can obviously see on his face he's happy about Charles finishing 3rd.

@@benutzername100 Lets not go too far: he ended up in the position his car should be in (P4-5 seen as Vettel was out), because grid penalties basically don't affect the race for anyone other than Ferrari and Mercedes (hence why Red Bull are so willing to put new engine components in their cars every couple of weeks).

To many stupid people don’t understand that Vettel should have given Back the position to Leclerc as they had decide in the pre race briefing, because at the start Lec stayed on the outside Line to give Vettel the wake, while if Lec had closed to the inside he would have given the wake to Hamilton, giving him a Great advantage against Vettel. This however was all in the Ferrari prerace briefing, Leclerc sticked to the plan, Vettel didn’t.
