Thanks great video! I have a 17 WRX and rotating the tires all of a sudden one of the studs felt like it was glued (I know I didn’t over tighten the bolt always go to OEM torque 88.5 foot pounds) and sure enough the nut broke off. I was worried I might have have damaged more but thankfully it was just replacing the stud. Thanks again! And greetings from Las Vegas, NV USA
great video. just a small tip. those two small hole on the rotor close to the hub are for taking off the rotor. I dont remember the size of bolt, but screw the bolt into those small holes and it will pull the rotor toward you.
So I put 1.5 nuts on my 07 wrx a while ago thinking they were 1.25. Does anyone know if this will fuck up my bolts? I'm assuming this will but if anyone is sure that it won't it would save me a lot of money
NEVER take your car to anything but a dealer when under warranty. I rotate all my tires and wash, scrubb the inside of the wheels and tires when I do. The garages use those torque sticks and they suck. I do mine all BY hand rotating the tire while hand tightening to nuts. Then torque them using a torque wrench alone. Much better to do it right yourself. If the dealer does it and breaks it they MUST fix it.
My dealer cross threaded my posts and tried to blame it on me. They fixed them but the next time I changed my tires, I had two new posts that they ruined.
Thx dude just had the same problem with my 2011 STI. I was pissed but now I'm motivated.
Did such a good job explaining and demonstrating. I don’t have to pay anyone to change my stud now lol.
I thought for a min I had to change the whole hub but now I know more, thank you for saving me time and money 😊
The addtion of the wheel stud tool and impact it be done in 2mins. The 2 bolts on calipers 100nm for torque spec

Colin MacKenzie, III, My 2010 STi doesn’t have the bolt holes on the front, but the back does, is a 8mm bolt.
Very well detailed earned a sub
You just saved me a bunch of cash. Thanks for the video!
Great walk through, and detail with each step, thanks im about to do the same.
Great job, the only thing I would have done different is to put jack stands under for safety.
Is there a torque spec for the installation of the new stud itself, thanks. I have to work on a 2017 soon
I have tge same problem with my 2012 STI. Wasn't my fault though. The dealership I bought the car from cross threaded that one bolt.
Lachie thanks for the video Bro it saved me money and I can at least pass rego now
John Rambo Glad I could help mate 😊

Great video mate. The only negative thing I have to say is, SAFETY comes first, you should have worn SHOES.
whats the stud's measurement?
5x100
I have the same problem too!!! I don't know where to get that one exact lug
Rwedham? Unfortunately I couldn't source a new lug so now I have to use an old one or buy a whole new set to match 😭
I just bought a set of security nuts by muteki (so they look almost the same) for $40 so I don't have to buy a whole new set.
That just happened to me today.. 😜 great video
Cheers mate!!!
What lugs are those ? They look awesome
Kyle Anderson muteki ☺️
Great video! Subscribed 👍🏻
7:12 I lol'd ... Nice video, will be doing this tomorrow -_-
Thanks mate, let me know how it goes :)
Like a charm.
those lugs with an open end get corrosion inside and fail alot!
Liable has a stud tool that replaces studs easy! EBAY has it.
Get someone to weld a small rebar into that broken bit and use that to spin it out of your lug
Awesome video! I like it
Thanks mate!🤙🏾
Why does no one own a stud tool?
ive had 3 broken off in the last 4 years
Bridgestone RE-????

Cory Boyd unfortunately it was out of warranty and dealerships charge an arm and a leg for tires 😭
My dealer charging me for here mistakes
