I guess it's time for a new phone then right?
🤣🤣🤣🤣 yeah
Blame Google for making it so hard to repair. I've replaced the display of many phones (using the frame replacement method), most are straightforward, but this one is shockingly bad at how irreparable it is. There are WAY too many individual components to remove, making any repair a nightmare. Phones with more minimal/more unified components have a higher repairability score.
How to change pixel 4 screen: take phone apart and rebuild on new screen o_o
I mean, the alternative way is to rip apart the display from the top and then replacing only the LCD, which 99% involves damaging it and is a pain to clean up the broken glass. Pick your poison I guess.
right after this I am searching for "google pixel 4 trade in value with cracked screen"
It's not hard find another video I took the front of my screen off first ti fid out pixel 4 screens are like iPhone 4 and older, you have to take the back of the phone off with a heat gun the take the bottom cover off and disconnect the screen.. litterslly 3 steps! This guy is an idiot trying to get more money off of repairs.. its stupid easy I took my screen off and started reinstalling in less than 20 mins.. in another 20 mins ill be done.. I don't not have any training completely self taught this is like my 7th screen replacement ever
LOL Honestly nowadays there are cheaper and even better phones than the ones you're trying to fix. Fixing is fine for high end models or to get important information out of the phone, otherwise it's just a waste of time.
It took me about 30 minutes and I'm $80 straight replacement
The new / used phone was $250
Definitely a win
@@tracytillett Yes! This video is terrible
@@tracytillett everything works fine after changing the screen? even facial recognition? thanks for your answer.
"here at Google, we hate you. We hate you so much."
IT IS NOT SCREEN REPLACEMENT . It is only taking apart till frame +screen and installing back !
Dropped once and cracked only a bit so I didn't care at first. A week later I see a blue discoloration on one of the corners that is slowly eating the whole screen. Idk how, did this phone really only last one drop? I'm sad.
@@crzycolchris the pixel 2 is hella east to repair I did mines yesterday screen cost $43 tools cost 35
My pixel 4 started with that issue that turned into flashing disco lights which brings me here today
This is ridiculous you have take the whole phone apart just to get to the screen. I phone has just 3 pieces after you take the screen half way off
Now change the back on an Iphone :) .......
Where is the screen replacement. That's the f-ing back.
After following this video I came to the conclusion you do not have to take all of this apart to replace the screen...at all. Just remove the screen ribbon and remove the screen.
Should rename video to how to unnecessarily tear down your phone and cause extra work. Definitely DO NOT use a heat gun to remove the one component @2:30, if you're just replacing the screen.
This can affect causing damage to the phone screen.
Thanks for the guide it helped me do it in about an 1hour 40 minutes.
You captioned the wrong connector as the screen connector. Bad video
I hate Google for making this so difficult to repair
This video was not a "screen replacement" but a disassembly reassembly. Uhhh

So... The screen is the entire case? Gotcha...
But its not idm what this guy is doing.. it can't be this hard..
@@tracytillett idk. I thought so too, but after checking other teardown guides, it looks like it. It's honestly way worse to work on than an iPhone. Even replacing the glass on my Nexus 6P was way easier than this and I had to worry about not breaking that unnecessary brittle glass bar covering the rear screws.

It's because Google is an asshat for introducing a gazillion individual components for users to remove. I've replaced many phone displays along with the entire frame, from LG to Lenovo as well as the Nexus 6P. Despite needing to remove the internal components it was still an easy task because those phones had minimal internal components. The problem comes down to Google not unifying its internal components. I get that there's a lot going inside the P4, but Google could've easily had these components unified in some way, perhaps joined by a ribbon.
@@DogeFrom2014 fair point. My biggest issue is more that because the screen is the case, it ends up being more expensive to do a basic digitizer/assembly replacement than it would've been otherwise. As a result, I end up never replacing the screen when mine cracked. I 100% am with you on Google choosing to build their devices in an absolutely atrociously stupid way.

Will this be accurate for a Pixel 4XL as well?
Yes
@@channinglittleman6542 Thank you. Do you need to purchase any type of adhesive if you purchase the screen from Wit Rigs? (I'm waiting on my screen in the mail..) I'm a little worried since I got the screen without the frame...hopefully that is not too diff. from the video shown here.
Holy hell... I usually do my own repairs. But I'll pay the $150 for someone else to deal with that nonsense. What the hell Google?
Do you not need to replace the glue that you heated around the back seam?
Yes you do. The ifixit kit comes with an adhesive sticker
@@jawaring4367 theres enough glue left over if u heat it and press i might be ok..
Could you make i water test of oppo a5s please???,i just wanna see the immersion test and the splash test if its going to pass the test, please witrigs😢😢
the screws going back in are not correct, they are right coming out but at the end is wrong
great instructions, but every time you show the phone in each new step it's in a different orientation. That is super annoying and serves no purpose
also I replaced this screen just fine and I didn't have to take out like 90% of the stuff that you did.
I desperately need some help, I had my screen replaced. The screen is fine but during the process the guy apparently did something and now it will not connect to the internet/cellular network/nothing. All I see when I try to connect is an X in the bars. When I tried to place a call in a working Sim I got a message saying turn off airplane mode. Do you have any clue what could of happened? I am desperately trying to get some help but nobody seems to be able to give me an answer. I would even send the phone to have it fixed and pay u! I'm so bummed my phone is destroyed. Oh and I tried to see if it was a Sim slot issue so I signed up for Google fi hoping it would work and nothing. I'm going crazy!
Colin Douglas Pause this video at 4:19. You see that white wire thingy? That is the one responsible for wifi and network reception. Your guy either forgot to move this wire or did not fit it in properly when he replaced the screen. 90% sure this must be the issue. Hope that helps!
I bought the Frame from this company and tried to follow the instructions. On the Video the make the steps really easy. In the real life you will not be able to replace the frame as simple as shown on this video. The reason: All components are Stick. On the Video they remove the components easly but you will need hard work to remove the parts.
Use a blow-dryer/heat gun. That's why it was hard to remove
you can buy hot air gun at Home Depot or on Amazon.

Why do I get the feeling that my 80 year old ant Rosie is playing a keyboard she got for Christmas behind me, what was a big mistake btw, while watching this ...

Thank you
This phone is for the screens break all the time

Thank you for creating this amazing video. I own a Mobile iPhone Repair shop and now I’m getting into repairing androids. Seems very fun to do it.

Ufff un poco largo el cambio jejeje, bien papuh
good evning
You never actually show how to replace the screen. Please remove the tags. This video is a waste of time for those trying to replace the screen.
looks the the screen and frame come together. in this one he never takes off the screen.. and even at this point looks totally hopeless. he was able to test the "new screen " first so it was a frame + screen. mine got dead spots green lights.... i tried even the static lighter zap trick. i took it apart hoping putting it back toghetr would make it wrok but no way am im gonna buy a new frame and screen and try reversing these steps.. i did change the battery successfully with the hot air and suction cup .. his trick to pulll the glue is good.. but its not worth it. no chance in hell.
big fan sir
😁😁
Big oof every glorious iPhone is fixable a lot easier
excellent since they break when you look at them wrong, i literally dropped a table on my pixel, plus it survived flying of teh hood of my car at 50mph, but yes the amount of disassembly is freaking concerning lol. So i guess i kinda agree on the oof haha
nice sir
Top video!
