How to teardown of a Coyote 5.0 GEN2 engine. This is the same engine found in the 2015-2017 Ford Mustang GT and F150. I recently purchased this longblock from a local salvage yard in my area for $500. The block was damaged from a front end collision. The coolant passage and AC compressor bolt threads were damaged.

This engine was pulled from a 2017 Ford Mustang GT with 18K miles.
Some plastic pieces were found inside the block, not sure what they came from. What do you think?
They gave you new valve covers obviously, those pieces look like the valve cover! $500 was an excellent deal! I also have a black/saddle 97 cobra with a coyote going in. Thanks for sharing your build 🤘🏼
Thank You for the look inside
Did you ever figure out what the plastic bits came from? I also have a gen 2 that come out of a rolled mustang, and it too had broken pieces of plastic under the timing cover.
It was intake manifold pieces from the original manifold or valve covers. The plastic timing guides were good.
Are the cyl head bolts reusable? Sorry if I missed it
No, you cannot reuse the head bolts. Go with ARP
@@Oxman_Garage thanks
The cam cap bolts are also TTY, right?
I just read the section in the Ford manual. It does not mention to "Throw away" the cam cap bolts. But specifically says to throw away the head, mains and side bolts. I've reused cam cap bolts in 4V, 2V engines in the past with no issues.
I would not reuse any factory hardware in a Coyote.
How did that much crap get into that cylinder?
Running rich can foul up the piston with carbon build up.
send that block to India they can fix it , or JB weld it .
