If you think about it "The World" is Johnathans Stand. The reason that Jotaro has it too is because he grew to have the same fighting spirit as Johnathan had to defeat Dio. That's why Jotaro has so much respect for the old man, their fighting spirits are almost identical.
At the end of steel ball run Diego from another universe has the world, meaning that yes Jonathans stand was the hermit purple that DIO was able to use.

If you think about it "The World" is Johnathans Stand. The reason that Jotaro has it too is because he grew to have the same fighting spirit as Johnathan had to defeat Dio. That's why Jotaro has so much respect for the old man, their fighting spirits are almost identical.

Because Jolyne didn't like him during the first ar of SO, so she changed it to try to disrespect him. And Jotaro's last name is Kujo, because Holly(his mother) married a japanese man with that lastname.

Actually, it's because Jolyne got admitted to prison and it's common for prisoners to anglicize their surnames if they're foreign. She probably did it to distance herself from Jotaro too (likely in part because he's a world-known scientist and doesn't want people asking her about him).
