I have friends that were close with Michelle. We prayed for her safe home coming but couldn't shake the thought of the worst. She was a good friend, excellent student, and the very least, a decent human being. To be a home wrecker was inconceivable...laughable. Her only fault was her unwillingness to cut someone out of her life. Thanks for covering her story.

Even if she didn't understand what her mom was saying, she knew the tone of her voice all too well. I wonder how many times "mom" interrogated her on what happened when she was with her dad. She was so paranoid and domineering that you just know that that kid was being used as a pawn and being put through some shit too.

    I've got a theory:
I think the reason Giselle was so convinced Michelle and Scott were sleeping together behind her back is likely because she did the same thing to Michelle.
Giselle couldn't believe her friend was honestly not betraying her because she had done the very thing she was accusing Michelle of.
In her mind Michelle couldn't be a good friend because Giselle wasn't.

    • @fc7307

So Michelle possibly had a boyfriend (not her baby daddy) that cheated on her with Giselle. It is impossible to be the dad since they only dated for 3 weeks, they weren't even in a relationship at that stage.

I think you nailed it. I have seen over the years liars accuse someone truthful time and time again, adulterers accuse faithful partners again and again, etc. The old saying, "It takes one to know one," is definitely not true.

Exactly. My father constantly accused my mom of cheating. If he went to work with one of his brothers and left the family car at home he would check the odometer before leaving then upon returning after work the first thing he did was check the odometer. He then would ask mom where she went that day. He knew exactly how far it was to each store and home, how far to the beach and home. Guess who was cheating? That's right, good ol dad.

Mike's delivery is always spritely and witty despite the grisly content, and that makes listening to these tales enjoyable. I'm waiting, however, for a love triangle story to veer off into new new, unexpected territory, but it never happens. It's always pretty much the same story. I feel that the murderous one's family sure missed a lot of warning signs somehow. I am not blaming them, but I am sure that they knew that there was definitely a disordered personality in their family, and they really should have tried to get her some help and address and confront some issues with her, because one does not start talking to loved ones like there part of Team Sllitherin and making DEATH Promises just out of the blue, especially in front of their small child. There has to be some sort of a ramp up, you know?
I feel sure with whatever disordered personality problem that she that she had, that she was just a loaded gun waiting to fire on someone, and if it was not poor Michelle or the father of her children, I suspect it likely would have BEEN her children, particularly as they grew older and possibly started having personalities and ideas of their own. She is one scary, unhappy, uncertain lady who who really spread the wealth of her unhappiness and poison personality around, and has as really torturously affected so many people's lives. We need to people like Michelle in nursing Hey nursing and it is so sad so sad that she had to pay the price...

When I was 8 I flew to see my bio dad for my summer visit. When I returned no one was there to meet me. It was 1974 so it was not possible to reach someone who was out. After many hours my mother showed up in a rage.. On the ride home she ranted about my step dad and told me in detail about the affair he had with his Co worker. There was so much of this through my young life with her many husband's and boy friends. My siblings and I were often left in the wake. I'm sure that's why I'm the least jealous person in the world. Please just leave if you no longer want to be with me, I will help you pack. I don't need a man to tell me who I am or validate me as a woman. To actually think someone deserves to die for cheating on you. The arrogance!

I think the problem is the mental state prior to the relationship that allows a person to be abused. This is a complex topic and while good advice I had heard many times "i never thought I would be the one in a abusive relationship". Something changes in people either in a traumatic experience or lack of education and there are some good theories but no definitive. I wish it was as easy as telling people not to get abused but life is more complicated than that.

When a psycho says sh*t like that, in that tone of voice, you can pretty much know that they will follow through with their threats. The problem is that often when people go to the police to report this, the police say come back when something happens. Or people, even health professionals or any other normal human being cannot wrap their head around the fact that the person making those threats would actually carry through with them. I actually feel sorry for Michelle and Scott that they had such a monster in their lives, they both seem like really decent people.

@@EricHamm in my ‘50’s I finally understood why. It took 4 years and a breakdown before I understood something that I wish I’d known at 20..so perhaps my experience can help someone else not fall into the same trap over and over. It was 4 years after Mum died that I finally understood that she had a narcissistic personality disorder..and she had been a very, very abusive mother..in every way. Physically, mentally, emotionally, socially..also, I was her possession ( she called it love?)..and she did not want to share me with anyone, and that included my own sisters. The problem was that without understanding it, she has essentially turned me into a sitting duck for people just like her, and I found myself being treated in exactly the same way...I’d have Mum doing absolutely everything she could to destroy my relationships on one hand, while having a relationship and been treated exactly the same way that Mum had treated me when I lived at home..from birth to 17. If I had understood how Mum’s narcissism had essentially shaped me into being prey, I could have avoided two abusive husbands. You live and learn.

Going up through my teens I saw how it was based in my own insecurity and lack of self esteem - which is why it's so hurtful when you feel it! Thankfully, I put a lot of effort into recognising it and working on it! Otherwise you'll be convinced your partner's unfaithful and you'll do everything to find the "proof" as if it's going to make you happy! As the problem is really your own self esteem, you'll keep looking for the proof until you drive him away one way or another! Jealousy and happiness pretty much don't go together 🤷🏻‍♀️ That's my lesson to all you young ones from one who's way over the hill!😸 Hope someone is able to learn from my mistakes!

Proud of you for recognizing and doing the work necessary to get past this issue! Self-awareness doesn't come easy, we can grasp for excuses and play the name-blame game all day and night, but if we ever want to make progress, we are going to have to sit with ourselves to the point of acceptance... And even then, there's still SO much work to do. It's not easy, it's not fun, and it's not the sort of thing one can tackle in a day... It's an ongoing battle with a darkness that seeks to destroy us, all the while acting like our only friend, pushing all others away with crazy accusations and complete disbelief that anyone could truly love us... But this darkness resides so deeply in our own minds, no one can fight it but us. Well meaning friends, family, loved ones can try to help, point out the nonsense and the unbelievable truth, but that deep seated darkness is quick to jump on the defensive, always at the ready to convince us that anyone trying to help us is actually just using that as a ploy to further harm us. It's all a sham, it's all a conspiracy, it's us against them and the only way to win is to side with our selves, our own delusions, bc only we know us and we know that no one in their right mind could ever truly love us.
But that's not true. We can be better, we can do so much more, if only we can find the will and the strength to turn our back on the one who has been there from the start, because THAT is the one who has been hurting us all along. The dark within us needs to be pushed out into the light and shown for what it really is: our own worst enemy.

They can only hide their true selves for while, but then their true selves start to show. I wouldn't be surprised if while Giselle and Scott were together, she started noticing that Scott was figuring her out and might dump her, snd that's when she got pregnant. And then she used sex to try and get him back, and when that didn't work, she got pregnant again. - It's also likely she blamed Michelle for her failed relationship as a way not to blame herself.

The other case the cops have a pretty good idea who did it, they've just never been able to solve it. Both cases have been cold for around 20 years now. I wasn't super close with either person/victim but it's something I think about from time to time and would love for both cases to be solved. My partner of five years came out to me as a survivor of mental (some mild physical) abuse from a previous relationship. No one deserves to be unsafe in relationships. This toxic behavior is systemic to being possessive of a person as private property. His sister helped him out and I’m thoroughly thankful. This young woman deserved better. RIP Michelle.

For the life of me I cannot understand how Scott went back to Giselle. You get a restraining order on the sociopath, not even a judge would entrust her with the care of her own child, but you go and have another baby with her? How?

Actually, That Chapter is the ONLY channel I turned my nots on for.
Mike is a megastar and holy shellcase, I've been on YT since 2006; since the beginning.
I mean i've seen some sht in my time 😏
But Mike is just by default fantastic; no one can come close to his unique&original personality in the true crime biz on YT.
(However, I love Giles&his "This Is Monsters"😊🤭, but no comparison, that would be apples to oranges.)
Keep up the good work, Mike 💞
