Lyle, I’m a vocal performance major, as David….I listen to every nuance, diction, dynamics, phrasing, deliverance, etc….you are my favorite commentator on DP’s songs. You are spot on every time and nail how the rest of us are affected by his music too. Always keep in mind, there has been only one perfect person in this world and he was killed…..but he rose, so that during the good and bad times, we have a comforter….your precious tender heart gives me a reason to pray for you. ….all the way from Charlotte, NC, USA….keep the faith and the perfect comments rolling!!
Lyle, I think the reason we coalesce around David is his willingness to share in song that he doesn't have it all together, but he knows to whom to go about that problem. He admits his own brokenness and allows us to admit ours and loves us in it. He doesn't, and neither do you, simply tolerate his phans in order to be able to do his music. He genuinely loves and appreciates us as you do and as we appreciate you. We Belong and he enables us to see that and be refreshed by it! Love your honesty and your brokenness, it helps me appreciate my own and not run from it. Blessings
David and his glorious voice only seem to get better with time - he is still magnificent, as is the message he delivers! On another note, there are a lot of not-so-nice people in this world, but all we can do is pray for them. Jesus warned us that believers would be persecuted, and its only going to get worse. If you are a believer, no worries, Mate! You will make it through this world and then move on to your forever home where there will be no more tears. Praying that you find strength, comfort, and joy in our Savior...no matter what the day may bring.
David Phelps is my favorite singer ever. He speaks to our hearts and souls with his music. I really love your reactions to his videos. Just keep on going, and ignore the ones who are always negative. Some people are never happy, and they don’t want other people to be happy. We have to ignore them. Instead, let’s keep listening to David sing about our Savior.

Lyle, I am an old lady. I have learned that you can't please all the people all the time. I know in life, the world, that there are some people who just go through life unhappy, and they seem to enjoy being unhappy as they are not willing to change. I find that they like to share their unhappiness around, trying to make others as unhappy as they. Please know that you are a happy, kind hearted person sharing joy and love to others, and the unhappy folks see you as a threat to their status quo - unhappy. I see in the chat that there are those younger than I that have your back. I know a few of them, wouldn't want them coming after me!! LOL!!
You and I appear to be in the same generation. Never understood why people who don't like someone or something don't just turn away quietly. They seem to need to "get ugly" before they leave. Sad.

Your channel was one first I came across, possibly the Allman Brothers or Lynryd Skynrd times or SRV not exactly sure but I enjoyed you then and quietly watched for so long until a few months back and I'm glad I finally made contact. He is the best singer I have heard in a long time. I live alone and his music is so comforting to me. I lost my husband 5 1/2 years ago and my children are spread all around so don't see them often. First of all, those who say things that cut deep are those who are being touched by the music you're reacting to. Sometimes, people get mean and rude when they are "backed in the corner" by how they were touched by God with conviction. Be proud of what you're doing and when they start hounding on you, know that that is actually a good thing. And remember how Jesus was treated by people who the enemy used. I love all of the songs David does but seeing this 'new' way of bringing in Heaven, salvation, and all things of God is great to hear and see. I was skeptical at first but this is just as godly as other gospel songs, just in a different genre. Great song and reaction!! You have a beautiful heart, thanks for showing it to us.

I understand. I've spent my whole life moving from one place to another. Where I'm living now is my 23rd home. I am so grateful to God that I was raised by my parents to who had such strong faith. I may have everything Changi g around me, but, I always had family, and church, and music to keep me grounded. Songs like this keep us focused on what is truly important in life. To always be filled by God's Holy Spirit so that we can get through our days in His strength and with Him using us to help those around us.

I love this song and your heartfelt reaction. It's so hard to put into words what one feels after listening to David and the beautiful messages his music conveys. If you want a lighter song, try "Over the Moon" from about 8 (?) years ago. It's the Gaither Vocal Band (with David) and I think they're in Hawaii. It's a nice song, and Mark is in it but, well, you know the goofiness of Mark. I think you'll enjoy it.
Loved it, as usual. You give your listeners a lot of comfort. People are going through some rough times and they have you to come to and enjoy life for a few minutes. Keep doing what you're doing.
