So Beautiful, but heartbreaking as well. David’s song are so meaningful. Whether they are about faith or just life his music has such depth and meaning. I love his duet with his son Grant “Eye to Eye” on his Game Changer CD. Having sons of my own I really relate. My Mom is in advanced stages of Dementia now and I care for her, so Hello Beautiful also takes on more meaning for me. Thank you David for all your grace, love and compassion expressed through your music.
I worked as an Alzheimer's nurse for years. This is truly how it is. You wait for that precious moment. David knocked this one out of the park. All of the emotions from beginning to end. David is a consummate story teller. Always with great passion and vocals.
After nearly 35 years of marriage, I lost my husband to many, mini strokes, epilepsy and seizures leaving him with dementia! After 13 years I also lost my Mom to breast cancer and A!zheimers! I had also lost my grandmother to Alzheimer's, as well! I thought that this song was going to be just a sweet love song, imagine my disbelief when I heard it and yes, I kept tissues in my home!! Each time I watch it, it takes me back to those times with each of my loved ones and relive those times together!!This sweet, Godly love story breaks my heart over it each time I hear it!! I hope that it blesses David, as much as it had h
Favorite quote ever from Lyle, "If you didn't enjoy it, maybe go away and have a word with yourself because there is something wrong with you." This one is right up there with, "Who the hell is this guy?"
This is such a beautiful song about a godly marriage. A few criticized David for going away from Christian music. But just because the song doesn't mentioned Jesus, doesn't mean it isn't a Christian song. People need to hear songs like this to see what a true godly marriage is like. He wrote all of the songs for this CD. He just thinks outside the box. In his "Stories and Songs DVD, he had Maggie Beth sing a song he wrote over 20 years ago that is so touching - "He's Still My Child." You can see his heart here, too. He is so creative!
"going away from Christian music"???? SERIOUSLY?! i can't even believe (well, i can) anyone would say that. i k now this isn't you, Ruth, but UGH - why are soooo many christians so incredibly judgemental????? uuuuuuugh you are so right about the godly marriage piece. also, you can't get people to come to Jesus by only singing amazing grace and stuff. you have to reach people where they are, and THIS is where people are. grrrrr
My Mom passed away last year. She had Dementia and her decline was so rapid. It was heartbreaking to watch my Dad with her. They were married at 18 and had been married 63 years when she left us. This song will touch the heart of a lot of people who have personally felt the cruelty of this disease.
seeing as I myself swore when the lady said "hello beautiful", I cannot fault the man for uttering a contradicting "holy hell" to a David Phelps (mostly religious singer) song
@@donnaovercash1659 I see you are an actor. In the audition they asked me to run through different emotions...joy, sorrow, remembrance,...pity. I asked "pity?" Didn't know I was to be playing a guy with early onset Alzheimers or dementia. What a great song!
Just when you think you've heard all the amazing songs he can sing, and wonder how he can come up with something else. Something new, different, unique...and he does THIS!!💜💜 Thank you, Lyle!!!
Just as we would expect from our David, great storytelling, phabulous vocals and a heart tugging, powerful, connecting message of unconditional love. This is indeed beautiful and wasn’t it generous of him to give his phans more glimpses of his home in TN where he does life with his family?
David does it again. He creates a masterpiece, juggles our heart a bit, incites an "ugly cry", then gives us a gentle, thought provoking closure. What a gift, and blessing to us all. Thank you, David! Thank you Lyle for introducing us to this awesome song!!
Such a beautiful song. Every time I hear it it reminds me of my mom. For 12 years trapped in darkness knowing no one. Alzhiemer's is a cruel and devastating disease. 'HELLO BEAUTIFUL' teaches us to spend as much time as we can with the one we love because we never know when this ugly life destroyer will take them from us. Thank you DAVID for this heart breaking but beautiful song about unwaivering love, even when your loved one doesn't know who your are.....Thanks Lyle for your honest and emotional reaction. No one but DAVID can sing so beautifully and tell a story so heartfeltly. There is healing in this song and many he writes about life's Joy's and sorrows.🙏🎼❤🎶🙏
And people in the “Phan club” were critical. They fail to see what a gift this singer and song is people all over the world. This is love at the core. I ordered my album at early release, I can’t wait to receive it. Thanks for your honest review.
I thank you so much for sharing this video. David indeed out did himself. This was the best video yet. He has put the exact spin on it. These mental diseases are horrible but this song says it exactly right. That brief moment hopefully one gets and you want it to stay that way and not return to it's nasty self. Thank you David for bringing this to us.
A wonderful song of love, like our wedding vows for better or worse. You never know what life will bring us, so hold your loved ones close. I cried, keep tissues handy! David always does a fabulous job!
It is an incredible video that will touch so many hearts. Many have had to walk that awful road, you have witnessed this awful disease first hand, and David tells it beautifully from a real life perspective that love never dies.
What a powerful song and performed so beautifully. I listen to it over and over again and get that lump in my throat every time. David is so talented and what a blessing that he shares his voice and stories with us.
Hey Brother Patrol, good to see you well. David Phelps the greatest male voice on the planet. Another thing I love about David is you could listen to him if your one-year-old for 50 years old his music is good and pure for every Walk of Life! See you again next time brother StayWell
This is truly a heartbreaking song, the truth of the lyrics, and amazing music rolled up in a very moving video! It’s too bad that so few have listened and liked it. I know there are many who are victims of Dementia and Alzheimer’s. David brought goosebumps once again! Thank you for bringing this to your channel!! 😢❤️
Many years with your love only to be stricken with this ugly disease and to forever forget that true love in your life. What a beautiful song to soothe the soul.
I'm in total agreement with your feelings about David.. I cried when I first heard him. He is the only one. It’s hard to breathe. Oh its a nomal reaction of David. If you don't get those feelings, your not listenig to David! It just gives me and tears🎉chills
Incredible, David just left me speechless, a friend recommended him to me, what a remarkably talented beautiful person he is, his voice is magnificent and has sent shivers down my spine, I’m hooked, I lost my forever love 2013 after 65yrs.together, I miss him dearly every day, thank you 🙏 for sharing, blessings from the U.K. 👌🤗
Is there anything David can't do? God has truly blessed the man with the ability to write and tell a story. Thank you Lyle for caring for people with memory loss. ❤
This song was released on our 44th wedding anniversary on August 20th and then we heard him live the next night and he sang this song…what a gifted voice along with the message of this song that reminded us of our vows to love and cherish each other in sickness and health until death due us part! My wife is beautiful! Thanks for sharing this video! Your reaction is perfect!
Makes me tear up every time I listen to it. What life is about? LOVE. We all need to desperately get back to that truth. It is what Jesus wants us to do. Love God and love one another. Love never fails. God Bless.
My wife and I were at the Barn Bash this weekend and were among the first group to hear it live. Although some songs were of a genre we don't usually listen to, they were all great and we agreed that they would minister to our daughter, so we bought a copy for her and can't wait for her response.
I've also shared before ...my husband was only 62 when diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's. I watched him go through the unknowing. He passed at an early 66 years old after being married for 43 years. This song really hit home.
@Patrol Gaming, I have watched this since the time of your reaction. I haven't said anything because I have been struggling with this topic. Years ago I worked at a facility for the elderly. There were some unfortunate younger patients that were incapacitated. After awhile they put me permanently on the Alzheimer's wing. They liked the way I treated the patients and they seemed to respond to me. I now have a family member that is in the beginning stages. It is moving pretty fast. What breaks my heart most of all is that I know what lies ahead. I respect your very apparent caring attitude. Thank you for the work you do. I love the song and yes David does it again!
This song hit me like a blast of TNT. I have to watch it multiple times a day. I have dementia and I know what it leads to. All I can say is that I love David Phelps music. It seems he won't put it out if he doesn't think it's just right. Thank you so much for reviewing it. I also hope he gets the recognition required with this song. It is very meaningful.. And I understand he wrote every song on the album...
I just found your site about a week ago and I’m loving seeing your journey with David. I’ve been to the first ten Barn Bash events, and he is my all time favorite singer. If you ever have the opportunity to go, don’t miss it. He is so relaxed there and feels free to tries new things. He is just phenomenal as a singer, but also as a writer and stylist. I writing to thank you so much for giving him so much exposure. He has never the gotten the the attention by the radio stations, etc, I think because they can’t fit him into any box. He’s equally as good singing blue grass or classical. No one better!!!
This is my first time listening to you. I’ve been a major fan of David Phelps for years and years. He gives his all to our Lord and Savior and all of his fans. I was in tears after that song and preordered the album. Fantastic! I love your reaction. God Bless!
This is such an awesome and touching song… this horrible disease has touched my family and friends and it is so sad… thanks Lyle for doing these reaction videos of David’s songs.., he is such a Powerful artist… ♥️♥️♥️

Oh Lyle....I did try to warn you but even watching it again ... I'm a blubbering mess. I come from a family of 8 and have lost 4 siblings to this horrific, cruel disease. David made me realise that in their heart of hearts they still saw me smiling at them with love. Ok I'm now composed. (kind of).... I know David wrote this and I'm wondering if it could be about his parents?.....God bless the wonderful work you aged care workers do...my eldest sister is in care & they are so good with her. Ok I need to go wash my face and make a cuppa.

Lyle, I’ve shared before that my Mom has Dementia/Alzheimer’s and today was a very hard day! This video and song from David was amazing!! This disease spares no one! Love on your loved ones!!! TFS! 👍🏻🐶🐶💕🙏🏻
My mother also died of Alzheimer's ... her not recognizing me was heartbreaking. However, she came out of a coma just before she passed and said, Thank You, Jesus... her last words. Those words gave me the most comfort. I will never forget this song and the deep comfort it gave to me. Thank you, David, and God richly bless you.

That's a beautiful tear jerker. Love David. Our Superstar.
David’s voice & the emotions he puts into this is what makes this message in song sooooo tender & heart wrenching 🎶💔
Heard this at a concert with David ( my very first one) and there wasn’t a dry eye around us! Love it! He was wonderful!❤️❤️
Unparalled beauty & perfection from David Phelps. Oorah, TED
Absolutely great, what a gift, what a singer, truly a man with talent on loan from God!
