I've been trying the artist lift paint! It really gives good results! It seems you really water those paints down with great results! Thank you for sharing! Good job!
you are a perfect example of why you should give your audience a chance to get to know you. because i love your paintings, but i also dig your personality. i think you are adorable, i love that you are just chillin' in your pajamas and a beanie cap! i can relate so much i feel like you are almost a female version of me. but anyway i hope you know that i say this in the most respectful way possible. i actually did a paint pour today and i used your technique. so thank you for doing the videos, they really do bring a smile to my face. i wish you all the prosperity in the world. something that i think would be very cool for you to try is neon or black light paint under a black light. ive already tried it , it looks awesome. so until i get my youtube page started i will just send you my ideas and hopefully you might do one? thanks again take care
Thank you so much Sean. I'm not really the type to talk about myself unless being asked a question. Making videos about painting and just speaking about that is easy because I'm on a subject I know and love. So, to give my audience a chance to get to know me... might take me a little more time ;) I saw that you are a tatoo artist. That's awesome! Also, good for you for trying your first pour and thank you for the neon and black light paint idea. You aren't the first to ask and have been wanting to try it out for a while. Gonna have to get me some! Lotsa love
Absolutely gorgeous, such a wonderful piece! Your friend will surely be pleased, and blessed by your artist skills. You should be very pleased with the results; blank spaces and various sizes of cells.
Thanx so much Mely, Just a beautiful piece. love the colours. i think your videos and getting better and better. It works to fast foward the pouring a little bit. thankyou so much for sharing your wonderful talent. I have learnt so much from you
Amazing work as always! Loved the one where you sprayed watered down dish liquid on it. I love space and galaxy art so I want to try it. Just unsure on the mix amounts. Can't wait to see more. :)
Hi - I've loved your videos for a long time. You are great. Question: I would like to know IF it would be possible to do a painting similar to this one but...IS there a way I can keep it from changing? I like this one best at 5:02. Thanks so much!!!
Nolwenn Petitbois hey Nolwenn! I don't think it was thinner as I really try to get the same consistency through out all my paints. Maybe it was and I didn't notice ;)
Hello! I've watched a few of your videos recently and recall you mentioning you prefer liquitex pouring medium. I'd really like to give your technique a try and am wondering if you've tried other brands of pouring medium, like the deserres one? (if I'm remembering correctly you said in a video you tried the golden brand but didn't like it. Have you ever done a side by side comparison of the different pouring mediums?
Hi Mely, love your work and your videos!! I have made a couple attempts at this pouring thing and they went ok, but I'm still confused about one thing. Do you mix both pouring medium and water into the paint, or just one or the other? And if you do both, does it matter which one you mix in first?
I love your work, you're so talented!!!! Thank you for being so informative! I do have a quick question, I noticed some artists use silicon to create cells in their pieces, but you use pouring medium instead? If I only want cells in certain areas how could I accomplish this?
Claudia Lyashenko thank you so much! I don't use pouring medium instead of silicone. I use it to help the pigment stay bound because of the water dilution. With the brands I use all you need is water to get cells. If you only want some in specific areas I suggest practice and getting to know your paints, how to position your colors and move the paint around.
I'm starting to think the pouring medium, if used properly, can give as many cells but aids in the drying process. There is a better chance it dries beautifully. Still practicing ;)
Hi Melyd, I love watching your videos. Your technique is awesome. I have been trying it that way and I love it. How do I send you a picture of my work? TYIA
What product do you use to achieve cells? I've tried using just a water and acrylic paint mixture as well as paint water and pouring medium but I never seem to get any cells forming
I love this! have a question. why does the white go away when it dries. I'm new to this and i cant seem to have the white pop out. the other colors take over. what am i doing wrong?
Hi Melissa. I've been watching your videos over and over again...like, you're my pouring guru! That said, I've bought and tried EXACTLY the same reagents you specify (including the Razzleberry Dazzle, or whatever it's called) and cannot get cells unless I use silicone...any thoughts? I even started using distilled water, something I haven't used since my lab days ended in 2003...sign me, Sleepless/Celless in Montreal
Beverly Akerman the only thing I can tell you if you have the same products is that it takes practice. Before doing videos I had been practicing for months (without any help from anyone!) And I came to understand that you really gotta try and obtain the right and same consistency through out your paints. The moving around of the canvas is crucial if you want the paints to intertwine and create cells. Practice more, I'm sure you will get it :)
I got it last night. Did the black, white, razzleberry, gold pour. No additives other than water. I think my white was a bit too dilute; red took over. But I am heartened. Thanks for taking the time to write back with encouragement! This image is 5 minutes after pouring...instagram.com/p/BTkonKDAwob/?taken-by=beverlyakerman
Beverly Akerman I saw that pic already! wow I'm so glad you got it :) all it takes it paint and water. The more you practice the more cells you will get. Don't be shy to add 2-3 drops of pouring medium. I do this now and I find it helps in the dried results. x
Madeline Noble it's the process altogether. You have to obtain the right consistency and make sure the paints are moved so the colors intertwine. It takes practice :)
Most people who attempt this WANT to get cells and CAN'T. I would hazard to say that if you DON'T want cells then go ahead and give it a try ;) But seriously, try more expensive paints with more pouring medium. That never produces cells for me!
Third Dimension Jewellery you could try mixing expensive paint with cheaper paint, add pouring medium and then a little water. If you try different brands and ratios you are bound to discover something :)
That was fast.... thanks, I'm beginning to think I'm using too much pouring medium. Like LOTS. Will have to try with a few drops and more water instead.
Looks really cool! I always appreciate your videos 😊 they are never too long and you show us exactly what we like to see. Thanks!
WOW !!! Turned out just right. Consistently of the cells are amazing. Not to much and not to little. Congrats.
Corey Ward thank you so much!
I love the calm colors in this pour. Just beautiful!
Thank you so much :)
So pretty! The watery look is beautiful.

Love this
Oh wow Mely!!!!!
Absolutely gorgeous, such a wonderful piece! Your friend will surely be pleased, and blessed by your artist skills. You should be very pleased with the results; blank spaces and various sizes of cells.
Thank you so much Monica!

I say keep this painting. Its awesome. It looks as if your looking down into a Caribbean reef. Great job.
I actually still have it! Every time I look at it I'm in awe. I have to admit, it's one of my favs. Thank you!
Very nice Mely really like this and the colours. Turned out just great!
I just love what you do and how each piece turns outl. I am learning so much. Hopefully I will get my attempts to make cells in the near future.

Love watching your videos and this technique, I am dying to have a go!
GO for it! its really fun!
My fave. Love it. You had just right amount of cells. What do you mean by ‘refill?’
I really love that!!!!
Nice Mely!
This was Wonderful! Thank you for sharing 🤓
Gorgeous!!
Amazing work as always! Loved the one where you sprayed watered down dish liquid on it. I love space and galaxy art so I want to try it. Just unsure on the mix amounts. Can't wait to see more. :)
Thanks a lot Heather!
Very beautiful .... 😍
Que bello, gracias por compartir..!
amazing!! how do you get cells?
Hi - I've loved your videos for a long time. You are great. Question: I would like to know IF it would be possible to do a painting similar to this one but...IS there a way I can keep it from changing? I like this one best at 5:02. Thanks so much!!!
I Love this one!
Love the result ! The white was thinner than your usual, wasn't it ? I just adore the colors you picked.
Nolwenn Petitbois hey Nolwenn! I don't think it was thinner as I really try to get the same consistency through out all my paints. Maybe it was and I didn't notice ;)
Beautiful! Simple is best!!! :)
Very pretty, I like your choices of blues!!!
Do you do anything to prep the canvas first? And what is pouring medium?
I love the skinny dark lines in this
I really appreciate your generosity in sharing your technique. do you get more cells with pouring medium or water?
Usually with water but pouring medium aids in other ways
Hello! I've watched a few of your videos recently and recall you mentioning you prefer liquitex pouring medium. (if I'm remembering correctly you said in a video you tried the golden brand but didn't like it. Have you ever done a side by side comparison of the different pouring mediums?
Golden doesn't have pouring medium or if they do I've never seen it. I've tried the DeSerre brand yes and prefer Liquitex! It is better quality
Hi Mely, love your work and your videos!! I have made a couple attempts at this pouring thing and they went ok, but I'm still confused about one thing. Do you mix both pouring medium and water into the paint, or just one or the other? And if you do both, does it matter which one you mix in first?
I put a few drops of pouring medium into the paint first, mix it, then add water
This is absolutely georgeous! I love it! How much pouring liquid did you use and how much water in your paint?
Thanks! I use a few drops of pouring medium and the water depends on the color and brand. I don't mesure it so hard to say.
Love it colours and flow
Maria Coutromanos thank you!
amazing results ty for video
hi great work. so you put the pouring medium in the cup with the acrylic and mix? thanks
glennevangelista yes
You are so creative! Thank you for sharing! What is the pouring medium for? Is it to make it runnier? What do you mean by cells?
Thank you! Type pouring medium in google you can learn all about it! Cells are the round shapes
I LIKE IT LOVE THE WAY IT LOOKS ....LIKE WATER THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT WHEN WAS U TURN OUT THE EXCESS PAINT.
Glorious
Love it!!!
I LOVE this one!

good job - so do you feel the pouring medium makes for LESS cells?
I'm starting to think the pouring medium, if used properly, can give as many cells but aids in the drying process. There is a better chance it dries beautifully. Still practicing ;)
Hey,can someone tell me how the bubbles coming out at the end?
do you ever use spray silicone on top of a painting to get cells?
Nope never
Love your videos - where do you get your canvas's from?
I buy them at an arts and crafts store
Hi Melyd, I love watching your videos. Your technique is awesome. I have been trying it that way and I love it. How do I send you a picture of my work? TYIA
You can email me or send it on facebook :)
Beautiful
So if you liked it just after you poured or at certain point before it dried, is there a way to stop the progression? Like a quick dry spray?
Uoo Hoo nope there is no way of stopping it haha more experimenting maybe
What do you add for cells? :)
How do you dispose of the excess paint?
It falls on the floor or in my bin and I let it dry there
hey I love your fluid paintings! :D it's so beautiful. can you please tell the ratio of paint and water you mix?
love from Bangladesh ❤
Thank you! Every color and brand is different. I don't calculate a ratio I go by consistency.
What product do you use to achieve cells? I've tried using just a water and acrylic paint mixture as well as paint water and pouring medium but I never seem to get any cells forming
Ps- every single piece you do looks amazing
I don't use any other products. The key is consistency and moving around the paint.
Thank you so much :)
Kelly Senior me too
Love ittttt, 😍👍🏼
how much paint did you use for this painting? did you use the whole bottle of each of the American blues?
Hard to say how much paint and yes all the bottle of the Americana brand
Hi. This looks really cool
Live Love Laugh hey and thanks!
When your canvases dry do you get little pin holes in the paint?
No I don't
Love the way this one turned out, by the way!
Awesome. Does it retain gloss after it dries up? Do you varnish later? Mine dries as a matte finish somehow. Please advise.
It dries matte and this is perfectly normal unless you use metallics then they sparkle. I varnish it after yes.
MelyD.artist do you use the glossy varnish or satin finish?
Nice pour,nice video!
Nice one :) did your cells last?
thanks and yes :)
How long until it stops changing? Did it continue after 45 minutes?
Depends between 15min and sometimes hours
I love this! have a question. why does the white go away when it dries. I'm new to this and i cant seem to have the white pop out. the other colors take over. what am i doing wrong?
It's because the brand of white that I use is cheaper so it seeps under. The better quality paint takes over.
elvimariemanabat white has a high density which is why it sinks.
Yes if you are using the same brand throughout all your paints ;)
I live in sweden, what colours can i buy? :S i was looking at golden something...but its 400 swedish kroner.. 40 dollar for 1 colour :(
Golden is very expensive! You can practice with any kind of acrylic paint. Even house paint!
what kind if paint? is it shiny after it dries?
No it dries matte

this one's very nice
William Urich thank you :)
Freaking beautiful!!!!!!!!
Thanks!
amazing
I thought you said you'd be using 3 kinds of booze and a canvas and I thought - WOW this will be fun :D
hahaha that would be on a whole other level of 'playing around' on a canvas
how do you achieve cells so much with just water and acrylic??
I show my process in every video
MelyD.artist i have tried with just water and acrylics before and i didnt get any cells :( so i was just wondering
Madeline Noble it's the process altogether. You have to obtain the right consistency and make sure the paints are moved so the colors intertwine. It takes practice :)
Is the white meant to be thinner in consistency than the other colours?
Madeline Noble no I try to obtain the same consistency throughout all my colors.
Your paint consistency is far more liquid than what we see on other videos. But the result is beautiful, like the others. 🤓
i luv u gurl..
very nice
How can I make it dry without cells?
Ricardo Abril have you done a pour yet?
Not yet, but I want to soon :)
Most people who attempt this WANT to get cells and CAN'T. I would hazard to say that if you DON'T want cells then go ahead and give it a try ;) But seriously, try more expensive paints with more pouring medium. That never produces cells for me!

Before I roll it?
MelyD.artist lol yeah I was just being a Lil dirty Lil
Fica bonito! Mas que sujeira!
É necessário ter uma oficina só prá fazer isso!
Parabéns pela ideia!
