I like your room and as a 58 yr old grandma I understand the joy of becoming an empty nester again. What I wanted to say to you is that yes naming your plants is a good thing. Seems to be a sign of really bonding with them. When we got back round to the table and your tubs of potting mixes I thought "how brave that she pots on carpet." I make such a mess I have to work over vinyl flooring or outside. You are so creative lady. I also have Fibro and understand just what you are saying about "paying for it." I think I wish you were here in Kentucky to be my new bff. Well, happy planting and crafting!

You’ve probably already done your blank wall, but I love combining art and individual shelves holding plants on the same wall. They sort of enhance each other...and you DO need more space for plants in your beautiful room! 😊🌿👍
I think I'll be spending a lot of time in here. My mom was worried for me now that I'm officially an empty nester. I had to laugh, I told I've been so busy I don't have time to even think about that.
I totally understand what you're going through. Sometimes there's a lot of pain behind the smile and it can be hard keeping it going on a daily basis. Just take it one day at a time and rest when you need to. That's what I do.

I picked up a cactus I've never seen before for $3 at Lowes that has a great deal in common with crested cacti, but it is the whole plant. Pups seem to solidly grow into the main stem. If it looks like I can root a pup, I'm going to send it to you. Definitely right up your alley.

Your plant/art studio turned out very well, love it! That desk from Ikea you're going to get is great, I admired it before. It's so much fun to have a room like that and I'm sure you're constantly going to make little changes and additions to it! The prints from Etsy and the Macrame are a good idea, you could also add a small round mirror to it, I think that would look nice, maybe one that has a woven frame to match your chair. I bought a few of those blue metal basket tower shelves on wheels, and made one tall unit. It’s very stable yet I couldn’t find an option for a taller one at the time. The couple leftover bottom portion shelf/basket with wheels is good to store stuff in and roll under a desk, table or bed. I suppose you can buy as many units as you like to configure as tall or short as you need, then use spare parts for something or discard.

I have only been a crazy plant lady for two years, so now I know which plants I love and which ones I will share. I saw some artwork in your closet...if they’re your artwork, why not put them on that blank wall, maybe with the macrame? Your artwork is so beautiful. We have so much in common...I just retired at 71 and am learning how to live on a very strict budget. I first saw you with Christian when he recently interviewed you...loved that show! I have been lucky enough to visit your beautiful Phoenix when my brother, the Snowbird, spent his winters in Mesa...I also have a special love for Sedona. I think it is all very new. Working in the room will help the ideas come to you. You have a lot of potential space in the room and the closet. I get tired of moving bins and boxes. Right now I am working on a closet that I am turning into a pantry. I’ve bought a black plastic shelving unit that can be taken apart. When I moved into my apt I only had cardboard boxes. I had been living in my car for three years. Slowly I am finding furniture. I usually look for things that people throw out. I like wood furniture. I can paint it. I’m interested in chalk painting. The black plastic was inexpensive. $15 for four shelves and you can just add more shelves. What I am saying is that shelving in the closet would give you more space. You could still use the bins you like but you would not have to stack the bins. It would be easier on your back. I’m not crazy about black plastic shelves but I started and I figured they were good for a storage unit or a garage or basement area, as I am hoping to move. You certainly have an eye for furniture. Your paintings are very pretty. I hope you are cancer free. Thank you for sharing your space with us.

It’s surprising that I can remember them since I can’t tell you what I ate for lunch yesterday. I did choose names that started with the same letter as the plant name or a name that rhymed or went with the plant name.
Your room looks great & I like your idea of the art work with macrame. I too have Fibromyalgia, so I understand totally the price of over doing!😢 Plants are such a blessing.🍃💚. I enjoy all your videos.

I have named all 61 of my plants, it’s a good thing. I try to match their personality with a name, it’s so much fun, lol. Where in the world did you have all of the things when your daughter and SIL were living there? I hope you will do a live stream where we can ask you plant questions, get recommendations and advice.
That's what I asked myself Lynn! I have a storage closet on the balcony and that held a lot of things. My walk in closet was no longer a walk in closet for a long time. It's almost like those clown cars that clowns keep coming out of!
I’m so glad you got your room! Would it help if you moved your table over towards the “empty” wall instead of having it centered in the room? Then you would have more walking space. The sawhorse table is cool but I’m wondering if its too bulky on the bottom for your small room. I love your idea for the wall and you could keep the botanical prints and macrame above the level of the table. You are so creative!💚
I placed the table there mainly for filming purposes. It gets great light from the window and is an easy set up. I just need a smaller table. Thanks so much for visiting Mari!
Carmen Whitehead Well think about it. Sliding the table over to the wall will solve your walking space issue, will be more open at the floor for your feet, toes and storage, doesn’t cost a thing, and can be easily shifted if needed to center yourself in front of your pretty shelving background.

LOL! How can you remember all their names? My mom called me tonight worried that I'm all alone. I laughed and told her that I was fine and keeping busy.
It’s surprising that I can remember them since I can’t tell you what I ate for lunch yesterday. I did choose names that started with the same letter as the plant name or a name that rhymed or went with the plant name.
Your room looks great & I like your idea of the art work with macrame. I too have Fibromyalgia, so I understand totally the price of over doing!😢 Plants are such a blessing.🍃💚. I enjoy all your videos.

My very old monstera really died off, so I chopped it up but didn't have the heart to throw it away....(roots were everywhere) Now I have 2 new leaves, so maybe there is hope...

That's what I asked myself Lynn! I have a storage closet on the balcony and that held a lot of things. My walk in closet was no longer a walk in closet for a long time. It's almost like those clown cars that clowns keep coming out of!

I’m so glad you got your room! Would it help if you moved your table over towards the “empty” wall instead of having it centered in the room? Then you would have more walking space. The sawhorse table is cool but I’m wondering if its too bulky on the bottom for your small room. I love your idea for the wall and you could keep the botanical prints and macrame above the level of the table. You are so creative!💚
I placed the table there mainly for filming purposes. It gets great light from the window and is an easy set up. I just need a smaller table. Thanks so much for visiting Mari!
Carmen Whitehead Well think about it. Sliding the table over to the wall will solve your walking space issue, will be more open at the floor for your feet, toes and storage, doesn’t cost a thing, and can be easily shifted if needed to center yourself in front of your pretty shelving background.
I like your room ,you could turn the table long ways instead of having it wide 😉 it might help for now .
