Too much to say so will just voice message you! Great job on not planning too much though!
@@josmith5992 look forward to it ❤️
Perfect autumn sweater! Why does your video look extra fancy? New camera/phone?
I heard Crying in H Mart was wonderful! It was actually recommended to me by a former booktuber whose mom also has terminal cancer (which I need to update you on!). H Mart is only in big cities, but I LOVE it!!! They have amazing bibimbap there which is my favorite Korean food.
I think Audrey sounds incredible! I'm always curious about all the little details like that. Do you have a link to get a credit or anything if I sign up?
What a wonderful childhood memory :)
Have you ever done a video on your top WWI books of all time? I love finding a new book too!!! Then you actually get to tell people about something new. I do that sometimes with UK books because they may be all over booktube but people HERE are unfamiliar with them.
I'm SO glad you loved Sandwich 🥰
You win for the worst cover!
I have no idea, no new camera, mic or anything!!
I just checked, and no sign up code for Audrey, but v kind of you to think of it.
No but that's a great idea for a video!!
I'm having to be sparing with crying in H mart. Sometimes I get into it, sometimes it makes me feel kind of flat.
Yeh I really loved Sandwich, such a good shout xx
I just bought a James Holland book too, i didn't know he did fiction too, it sounds a bit like the cazalet chronicles. He is Tom Holland's brother! (the historian and podcaster, not the actor). Did you recently ask me about Giles Kristian? I think someone did. I've only read the first one in that series but it was great from what I remember. I definitely have told you to read Bernard Cornwell's The Winter King before, but I shall again. I saw Mark Thomas do a reading of belching out the devil in 2008 😂 it was good from what I remember.
@@AaronReadABook and the family are called the Castells, which also sounds similar too!!
Yes it was me that asked about Giles Kristian and I remembered about the Winter King, it's on the list 👍🏻
That's very cool re Mark Thomas. Didn't see him on that book tour, I was probably working every evening as a junior doctor in 2008! Seeing him next week too 🙌🏻
@@YourTrueShelf I've never seen him other than that, it was at Latitude festival and Sigur Ros headlined and it was magical. I used to watch a lot of his tv stuff though and really liked him.
@@AaronReadABook i was listening to Sigur Ros this week 😊
Yeh he's a great guy.
I cant be of any help re the Giles Kristian, but I have the first one on my tbr and am very much looking forward to it. As far as Arthurian retellings go , my absolute favourite and one of the most influential books for me in my reading life is Marian Zimmer Bradley s The Mists of Avalon. Obviously I now know she was a despicable human being ( I didnt know when i read it as it was well before the time of social media), but if you can seperate the art from the artist....its fantastic. I also recommend Taliesin by Stephen Lawhead and the follow on books in the series( I think there are five)
I couldn't ever read her books, but I'm glad you were able to find a book you loved before you knew what a monster she was.
Thank you for the Taliesin recommendation, I will go and look it up now.
@@YourTrueShelf Ah, absolutely fair enough. I imagine it would be a very different thing if you knew about her before reading it. I have never read any of her other books and gave away the others that I had bought by her ( I had collected a fair few after loving Mists) as the idea of reading them made me feel a bit ill. Funnily enough, I don't have that feeling with Mists though, I think because the story feels like part of MY reading life and not her life as an author....if that makes any sense at all. It was also one of my mums favourite books and she recommended it to me not long before she passed away. Obviously she didn't know either.
@@rebecca.reader yes that makes sense. I'm so sorry about your mum 💕
@@YourTrueShelf Thank you 💗
She died about 30 years ago...but reading was one of our shared passions.
