The new expedition is out now for No Man's Sky! This is the liquidators expedition, which focuses on the new broods. We have to make our way through the galaxy and liquidate all broods. As a reward we will earn the new Liquidator Mech and other awesome stuff like bug armor!

I got it last night on Steam (7:00 PM Arizona). It will be interesting how it performs on Xbox (does fine on my 3060 with a Ryzen 5 5600).

@@S0n0fG0D not with the sentinel pieces, and i expect that unfortunately these pieces will be the same, you get whatever color they come with stock, the only customization you can do is on the base mech appearance

Tried to get back on no man sky after months of not playing for this new update and i tell u I forgot everything about the game just about I can’t fly now idk what makes what anymore lol I now suck lol but still have my rainbow alien ships so I’m happy ish lol

Here's my suggested list of Tech and Cargo to bring from a main save, if you don't want to waste time farming and refining other than on the first planet to do your repairs and be able to build a Hyperdrive since we don't have access to the Anomaly at this point.
I'll actually start with what you need to farm or do to get to space before the list, I think Jason covers this in his Part 1 video:
After repairing your Launch Thruster and Pulse Engine, you want to have enough Chromatic metal to build your Hyperdrive and fuel it after getting to space, so make sure to collect around 1000 Copper. Before going to space, refine at least 425 Chromatic metal and make your Microprocessors and Warp Cells. You need 200 Chromatic to make 5 microprocessors, 100 to make 4 Warp Cells, plus an additional 125 to build a Hyperdrive. The other materials are Oxygen, Ferrite Dust, Dihydrogen, Carbon and Condensed Carbon. Just get what you need.
Now the Suggestions:
1. Tech. Visit your local Pirate Station(s). Purchase stacks of up to 20 (this will take some reloading of your restore point in between purchases) of the 4 different types of Suspicious Exosuit Tech. This will take 4 of your Tech slots for 80 unopened mods. This gives you plenty of opportunity to open as many as you need on Expedition to buff out your Exosuit, sub par ones can be salvaged for materials, and any unopened ones can be sold for max Nanite value at a Tech Vendor at a space station. Or open them all, we have a similar option to easily get 10's of Thousands of Nanites with Cargo without needing to spend the time refining.
For the 5th slot, still always a good idea to bring a Personal Refiner, this leaves 3 open slots for whatever you want (maybe Airburst Engine so you don't need to bring Phosphorous or buy the plans, Efficient Water Jets to save bringing or farming Living Pearls, and an Oxygen Rerouter so you don't need to farm or bring Crystal Sulfide). I don't suggest bringing any Multitool or Ship Tech because anything loaded on those from your main save will transfer when you copy them once you reach the Anomaly.
2. Cargo. Also at a Pirate station, load up on Suspicious Packets, these stack to 50. Same deal here, other than the fact they are random, so you will have a ton of useless ones you won't need to open and can just sell them for Nanites. This gives you all the Nanites you need to Copy your Ship and Multitool and buy Blueprints at the Anomaly. Ion Batteries would be another thing to add here to charge Exosuit Tech.
This leaves the other 22 Cargo slots to bring whatever you want, since you really don't need anything else if this is your core setup. There are no Repair Objectives so you don't need Repair Kits or Wiring Looms, so just the basics, again so you don't have to farm and can bang this thing out in a few hours and have what you need to recharge and install any other Blueprints. Oxygen, Carbon, Sodium, Ferrite Dust, Tritium, Silver, Copper, Chromatic Metal, Radiant Shards if you are copying an Interceptor, Unstable Plasma for your Launchers, maybe a Nutrient Processor but you get a fee one early iirc.
This is literally all you need and will allow you to complete many of the objectives that are further ahead in chronological order in the Second system immediately after visiting the Anomaly. Some of this stuff you might gain as a Reward later (pre-loaded even) from some of these objectives, but it saves needing to wait.
There is an objective to use 1800 rounds of ammunition, and you ultimately get a pre-loaded Boltcaster and Pulse Spitter from other objectives which makes this faster, but even if you prefer to use things like the Neutron Cannon or Blaze Javelin, which are energy weapons and don't consume ammo, you can always install one of these faster firing high magazine weapons on your main save tool just to do this objective in a few minutes by just shooting at nothing, then remove them. The "Hit 4 enemies with a single Grenade" objective can be completed with a Paralysis Mortar or Plasma Launcher.
This advice gets away from the Expedition but still applies, but I tend to specialize my Multitool to 1 main and 1 secondary type weapon so they are maximized and all I do is swap the tool vs having to toggle between a bunch of different installed tech on a "Jack of all Trades" type setup. I also play on PC so it is easier to swap Tools via Hotkeys, but I find the best setups (using a Voltaic Amplifier for the 21% dmg increase to stunned enemies) is using a Neutron Cannon with Paralysis Mortar to stun, or Blaze Javelin with Plasma Launcher since the Blaze Javelin with a Waveform Oscillator will stun, and the Plasma Launcher does tons of dmg.
Anyway, hope this helps.
So I recommend Pulse Splitter sclass tech and extra ammo cargo .

I always start a new save for Expeditions. Just in case there's bugs (pun intended).

Hell yeah. Due to a bug in Expedition 11 I couldn't even finish the expedition because the game crashed when loading finished. Yeah, not gonna do this on my main save with 200h.
And I don't have PS+ so I cannot make a save backup. It's also a shame that Sony removed the ability to backup your saves to a USB-Stick -.-
I thought you had to do a new save to do expeditions. Can you do expeditions on your regular save?

Finished the expedition and the rewards are awesome. The armour is sweet and all 4 helmets you get out of the expedition are pretty cool too. Juat gotta wait for the community rewards now (mech suit) oh and the new broodmother pet is pretty cute too

I got the update on my Xbox One X. It was about 12 GB. So yeah, can't wait to explore and eventually build a new custom Solar Starship.
Rally looking forward to the new update on xbox and playing again, I've been away from the game for about 2 years and only just started plating again last week, I did have a ps5 save biwth about 700 hours on it then went away, after all the updates and switching to xbox I'm loving it again and can't wait to see latest update, already so much has changed since I last played and I'm trying to remember everything again, honestly it's like I've never played it before trying to remember everything

I'm happy that for a change they waited on the expedition start until update was released for switch (or it just happened to work out that way) either way, i wont have a week of spoilers on the expedition and get to enjoy it along with everyone at the same time since update dropped for switch today!!!

I’d love to try that expedition on my original save although the transfer button from ps4 to ps5 no longer exists. Guess I will just do it on a different save.
via the anomaly expedition station you can put things, but you can also transfer expedition things out via the anomaly station after completion more then the basic rewards like special items and mods and inexpedition found ships and multi tool when you finish it also some inventory lore items can be gotten out from expeditions this way. carefull it is restricted number of slots.
also you get to keep all expedition made bases unless you delete them, even after completing the expedition.
I was happy to get to the planet quick enough to be able to name some animals 😎

(Xbox player) My nms has been on this update for a while but it just wasn’t activated. I don’t have auto update turned on. I updated it like a week ago for 5.0 which it did but it was just never in the game. It was very weird. Glad it’s sorted now and I can actually play the version of the game I have installed.

I'm the type of person that can only do these expeditions once. I just can't go back and start all over again and do it multiple times, I'm not that ambitious.. HAHA. For that reason, I start my expeditions from the terminal using my main save so I can keep all of the quicksilver and nanites and stuff at the end.
So the quicksilver, nanites and stuff cannot be shared across saves? Nanites and resources make sense, but what about other things you get? FWIW I have no idea what works on the other side so perhaps it'll make more sense when I join.
@@mleii1169 If you start an expedition using a new game, the nanites and quicksilver and money will not transfer back to your main save. If you start an expedition from the terminal on the space anomaly using your main save like Jason shows in the video, then you can transfer all of the nanites, quicksilver, and money you earn during the expedition back to your main save and keep it all. You will also be able to transfer items from your inventory back over.

Could you go a bit more into how expeditions work for folks who've never done one before? Though maybe I did one before but if so it was years ago and I've forgotten.
You recommended using a new save, why? That wasn't clear to me. Can you share the items you've gotten on the expedition between saves? Guessing so. If I don't use an older save will I even have the tools or resources to be able to defeat anything, like I have to start the tutorial over again? If I use an older character and it goes on the expedition can I still go back to my base and do other things or am I in that world until some event?
I am guessing I have other questions but would love to know more about how these work. I appreciate the details about how to start it and transfer items if on an old save but there isn't much info on the webpage on how this even works. Maybe you'll explain or show more in your later video. Thank you.

i just started a Perma run for my first time i just found that my original save is no longer there i had that since the game came out sad but this week i decided to start again
I just can't keep thinking that, all this xbox update fiasco can be explained with one simple idea: PS and PC users are the beta testers for the game, while just before the expedition rolls out, XBX (an of course the rest) of players can have the final and polished version.... seems like this will be the pattern in the future, so for worlds 2 I won't care about the Series X untill the exp rolls out. In the meantime I'll be saving for a new PC

possible bug (no pun intended), after beating the first broodmother, i had to close. saved, then closed down. after i logged back in the first thing i see is the mission complete popup for beating her.. but it would not give me the prize or mark it off on the expedition tab, and i couldn't fight her again. so restarting cause i have no prefight save and i've tried a bunch of crap to fix it.
another "bug", my new character just scanned the same creature that gave my first character the award for Apex Predator... no award. I think those numbers are just random =/
if you start a new save and finish the expedition, do you get the rewards (if any) in your other save? it feels like it would be a waste of time to start a whole new save when you are also trying to get advanced in the original one.
Ive had nms since day one, but never tried the expeditions until now, I can't find the first boss. It sent me to an area I killed a few small bugs, but nothing else happens.

I started the Expedition on Series X xbox...got halfway through the Expedition...when i went to go back in today to finish the Expedition...it already ended and i couldnt finish it...said 88 had 5 weeks to complete...but i guess that was a lie.

How do we get the rewards for prior expeditions?
I'm coming back to the game after being away for a long time. This will be my first expedition so why would I want to do it on a new save? Seems pointless that I won't get any of the cool stuff on the main file I have?

It's locked to the save file you are using as far as things like units, nanites, tech, but any rewards you access from the Quicksilver vendor are still available on any save as usual. So for this expedition I think it's just the Chitin armor.

Dashboard from NMS (DON'T quit), load any other game up. Quit the other game, click back on NMS and it should work then.
No idea what the actual problem is, but that worked. Somebody on Reddit posted it.

I haven't played it too long, but I am not seeing the ability to summon the Space Anomaly to get all of my stuff. Hmm. Anyone else see this? I'm hoping there's a way to get there sometime.
It's available after your first jump, but you have to visit that second space station first, jump in and out of your ship, then fly back into space for the Anomaly to show up in your normal summon menu.
