Still my favorite smallmouth jig of all time was the Berkley IKE jig. That small compact football head with the hand tied living rubber collar above the traditional silicone skirt was absolute fire. I still have a couple laying around but they are mangled. I pour and hand tie my own now as close to those as I can get it.

You forgot the striper bass. A skirted swim jig with a keitech fat impact in a 5.8 is effective.
I finally bought 2 ratlin jigs from strike king. I haven't be able to use them yet. They are for punching and flipping. Can I use them as a swimming jigs from the riverbank. I have three swim jigs, White, perch and a blue gill
what kind of jig is good for a bottom covered in logs from when they use to float logs down the river?
Jigs are not just specific to Bass, they work for anything! I have caught many trout and other species on them. They move lots kf water in dark conditions!
