Thanks so much man I haven’t been able to catch much of anything then I tried a jig and I had a ton of success thank you
No thank you for letting me know! That's so awesome.
Polarized glasses are the most important part of any bank fisherman's arsenal
Yes sir.
💯
Dude I liked it before I watched and I don’t regret my decision.
hahaha thanks man.
Nah thank you for the always useful tips brother
I did the same thing 👍
Same!!! I like his explanations. It’s not just droning on and on. Looking forward to more content!!
How does this guy not have 10x the subs. So much good info without the bs
Thank you that's awesome!
God is good!!!!
I got more than my fair share of jigs in my tackle box. I need to start using them more and hope to use this tips. Thank dude.
I love'em but remember they are a tool that has the right time and place.
You seem like a good dude. I like the practical hands on stuff that is one of the things that is missing from some of the other channels I watch keep it up!
Thanks I wish I could catch a fish every time I'm doing a how to but the places I fish that's easier said than done. It's always a grind.
This is right up my alley!!! I LOVE bass fishing, I LOVE using Jigs and I primarily fish from the bank. Really appreciate you making this video and uploading for us to enjoy. #BassGeekNation4Life
I hope it helps!
South GA Bass and RC I second that
Your videos always do help. 😎👍
Agreed
My friend; I just sent a comment to you from another video I watched (fromyouJJ) about jig fishing and I thought it was just great! In thqt comment, I asked for you to gibre some tips on fishinhg from ther bank into a hgrassuy pond. Well you just answered my question with this video; IT WAS GREATS! I rreally like youre style and the info is fantastics~! I am a 77 uear old newbie to lake/pond fishing and didn't realize the complexities of it. I was a trout streaqm fly angler, but poor ieysight made me make a changer. There are still some challenges but ghuys like you habe made the experience much more accessable. TYhank you again and please keep these bvideos coming. Your Geek buddy Walt.
Thank you and I love it. I hope it helps and never hesitate to ask questions.
This might just be the most comprehensive bass bank fishing video I've ever seen. I mostly use float rigs for shore fishing, but that is only fun for so long. A++ stellar content. Big time thank you!!
Thank you! WOW that was an awesome compliment. Thank you very much.
I never had confidence in my jig fishing from the bank so generally i have avoided them. After this video i am going to fish them again for sure. Thanks for a great chnnel. Your advice works even here in South Africa.
Heck yah I hope it helps and Hello South Africa!
Watched this video in the morning and caught fish in the afternoon from this video! this is great information!
Heck yeah! Thanks for watching.
Man, you are always spot on. Absolutely love this and I needed to see it. I don’t own a boat so I always bank or creek walk, so this was a great refresher course for me. A lot of the stuff you are saying to do, I’ve done before but have gotten away from it for some reason. I’m gonna have to get back at it soon, but rain has really put a damper on the fishing lately. Thanks for the video as always! I’ve sent your channel to every fisherman I know! Best channel on UA-cam for fishing, hands down 👍🏻
MAN Thank you so much! I see you've been here for a while and I can't say how much you getting the word out means. Thanks man Thank you a ton.
Thank you for this video. I am starting to learn jig fishing. From the bank. That is key in this video for me. Mot enough channels remember the guys who have to bank fish. I appreciate you doing that. Love your channel. God bless
Be sure to use a little lighter jig 1/4 is a killer
Right on Brother I’m learning the jig it is becoming one of my favorites now. Great info as always. Appreciate you giving us tips and tricks and the secrets to be more successful on our trips. Best channel on the tube!!!!💯🤙🏻
Man It's my crutch. Thanks for the support.
As kid dad couldn't buy this stuff. I'm adult now, I want ketch fish not shit and wait. I appreciate this because I'm the one fishing now. And honestly I didn't know there was more then putting worm/minno on hook idea
I hope we can help.
Dude I appreciate you taking the time off the boat to speak to the large amount of bank anglers. Boat tips carry over fine but we appreciate it.
I love to fish from the boat but I know you guys need some love and help I'm gonna try to do more.
@BassGeek haha yeah that's a labour of love right there! This would be a huge hit as a series, awesome job highlighting adjustments to weight etc. One of the only people I've seen pitch heavy wood from the bank on video.
I’ve been killing it in our neighborhood pond with that exact shad swim jig that was shown. 3/8 oz with a swim bait trailer 🤘
DoctorSess Heck yeah man! Good job! Thanks
I am a blind man and you are explaining this extremely well and I am going to try it out when we go canoe fishing this weekend! Thank you sir very much amazing videos
Awesome good luck and go catch’em
@@BassGeek thank you very much sir no luck, they weren’t biting what we were throwing, the sand bass that is cut several catfish on cut up shad thoe
Thank you so much for these jig videos! I’ve caught so many more quality fish because of these videos. Please make more! 🙌🏼
Heck yeah thank you.
Thanks for actually going over the retrieves and not just talking about the certain types of each bait. You’ve helped me a lot. I’ve been fishing for years all live and cut bait. This year I dived into the bass lure game and actually caught some fish. Your vids helped a lot.
Awesome I hope you catch a toad and thank you.
I have to say using a jig has become my favorite lure to use. Never used one until last year and a lot of this info I have learned by just using them on the different lakes in my area. Got one lake with sandy and rocky areas with no grass and one that has grass with sandy and rocky areas.
Heck yeah the more you use it the more you learn how diverse they are.
I’m new to fishing and ive been binge watching your videos for info, learn something new everytime!
Thanks I try to make ever video a learning experience. even if it's tournament video's or fishing whaterver they all have info.
Thanks for the information. I have never had much luck with jigs in ponds, but this should help. Gonna try these tips tomorrow. Thanks again.
I hope it does. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for remembering bank fisherman Hank! I am going to try this jig as I am always looking for something more weedless. I'm a straight braid guy myself as the places I jig fish have color to the water. Now, if I can just drag myself away from that jerk bait at my gin clear big lake! Thanks again.
I'm gonna try to do more of this for you guys!
Great info, I do most of my fishing from the bank. Always good to pick up a tip or two.
Good Thanks! I hope it helps us.
Thank you for the best 101 video on casting jigs from the shore with a casting rod/reel that I have found so far. Additionally the details on the jigs and in particular the trashmaster was outstanding. Unfortunately I can not find many options for 1/4 or 3/8 ounce jigs, but I will keep an eye out. Please make more shore line videos!
Thanks I don't remember if trashmaster makes a 1/4 you may have to go with another jig. I do plan on doing more how to's from the bank and more fishing from the bank.
That was a great video .
You taught me a lot
I will apply it when or if i go fishing at a pond that's near where i used to work .
Thank you !
Thank you sir. I hope it helps and you catch a toad.
Best jig tutorials on UA-cam. Subbed!!
Thank you sir.
Yo! Great video! Tons of info and explanation. Great way of explaining why AND how. I smashed that subscribe button for sure.
Alright! thank you for the sub and welcome to BassGeekNation! #BGN
Man I love videos like these. Keep up the great work man.
Thanks man I hope to do some more bank angling.
Great video 👍, I'm going to try some of your recommendations this weekend! Ecspecially starting the shallow bank area and work out to deeper areas.
Thanks and I hope it helps.
All great information for bank anglers, it's how I started fishing and all of what you said will help any bank angler fish a jig! Great job Hank! #BGN #BASSGEEK
Thank ya brother.
Great info, Hank! Thanks for posting the video.
Thanks I hope it helps some people out.
#100percentwatchsquad!!! I never get tired of watching this! The part about using your jig to feel out the bottom contours is such great info!
It's a killer little jig. #100ROCKS
Solid informative vid. Glad to see bank fishermen get some love too!
I'm trying to. Not a lot of opportunities for bank fishing around me.
Thanks for the tips. This is exactly what I needed to know as a bank angler! 👍👍👍
Thanks for watching.
That was a really good video loaded with very helpful information. Thanks!
Thank you hope it helps some.
Great video! I have yet to catch a fish on my jigs yet but this definitely gave me confidence!!
Good luck and you'll catch a toad!
I needed this video years ago ! Awesome video !
hahahaha sorry. Better late than never?
Nice brother! I'm about 90% bank fisherman, besides the kayak fishing here and there and it's hard to find a good place to watch for advice.. keep up the good work and stay safe out there! Thanks for sharing bank fishing tips for jig's!!
I primarily fish from the boat but I'm trying to get some things lined up for more bank fishing videos.
Always a great teaching video. Keep up the good job.
Thank you for watching.
Thanks for making this particular video--not all of us have boats, electronics, etc. Excellent instruction! Thank you.......👍🎣
Thank you for watching! I hope it helps
I have learned so much from watching some of your videos. And I have been bass fishing for years, good for all levels. The real question is how do you not have way more subs.
Hahahaha Well we are growing like crazy right now thanks you you guys sharing your favorite video's. Keep it up and thanks.
Love the basic tips! Spending alotta money on fishin need to learn more! Thank u
Thank you for watching.
I cant ring the bell because I already have a youtube trout fishing channel that gives me notifiacations. I still like your videos too
Ok cool thanks
Lot of good basic information. Just right. And your quality of video and audio is stellar 👌

Great vid, I learn more and more each day, THANKS for your wisdom and knowledge.
Thank you and I hope you enjoy.
ALWAYS B-Geek ALWAYS, I get my shipment of Bass Munitions floating worm today, can't wait to WIN with them at Lake Oconee in August !
Love this as a bank angler. I use worms or stick baits mostly, will need to try jigs as well. Thank you
Thanks I hope to do more.
God is good!!!!
Great info, I've never thrown a jig from the bank, but since I subbed to your channel a while ago, I picked up a few Arkie jigs. Thanks! #100% BassGeek
Be sure to check out the new weedless finesse jig I just did a video on from Omega tackle
Good stuff. Was just out fishing and was wondering a lot about this stuff. I don’t fish a jig much but am trying to learn it more.
Cool I hope it helps ya catch a toad.
I'm new to bass fishin and you got a sub out of me! Your very informative and thorough. plus that good ol' southern accent just makes it easy to listen to haha
hahahaha Thanks.
As always a great video and I find myself coming straight to you when I want to learn something new. I'm more confident in my setup now too. I use almost everything identical just a different brand of rod.
I would definitely down size if your fishing from the bank however.
@@BassGeek I'm looking at the Trashmaster jigs. I use the SK Bitsy Bug jigs now.
I learned a lot from this. thank you! subscribed!
Thank you for watching.
Awesome video...very educational!
Thank you sir.
I have a boat for the weekends. During the week nights fish the bank. I love that you have tips for the bank fishermen too.
I try my best. I hope that I get to do more bank stuff if I get to do this full time.
great explenation and very informative for those that dont know! TRC Cover float to i know by experiencing that lol Great video Hank keep up the great work!!
Yes they do.
Very informative video. I've never had any luck with jigs because I only fish from a bank
Jig from the bank can be great
@@BassGeek I have a few but where I fish is mostly too grassy for the bottom bite. I can't wait to catch one. But seriously, that video taught me more than any of my friends that I've asked so I appreciate it, Sir!
Got a new sub here...love the channel and your teaching style. Your videos are very informative for this rookie fisherman.
Awesome thank you!
Im taking my new jig knowledge out tomorrow cant wait
Hope ya catch'em
Awesome explanation thanks so much man!
Thank you so much for watching!
Don’t ever have any luck with swim jigs or flipping jigs. Mostly because I don’t think I’m fishing them right. I use to get so frustrated fishing the bank. I use to think you can’t catch fish unless you have a boat so I just stopped. I picked it back up and going to try again.
Go lighter
Enjoyed the video. Good tips !! Stay safe Hank!
Thank you sir. I will do it.
Thanks, this video was made for me and my sons.
Go gettem guys!
Great video Hank! Very good breakdown for the beginner. Keep up the great tips and advice buddy! #BGN You always rock! 👍
Thanks sir I really appropriate you keeping up with the channel man.
Excellent vid! You talked about using a SHORTER 7' Rod! Lol - I'll stick with my 5'6"ers for the super tight places I've fished for decades. I'm a Texas Rig plastics guy but need to sling some more jigs! Ur vid was exactly what I was lookin for. Thanks & subbed!
hahaha hey from the back I totally get it.
solid video... easy and step by step..
Thanks
Thanks man that was real useful love your channel
Thank you I'm happy to help.
Thanks for the vids there’s a lot of good info on this channel
Thanks Dusty and welcome to the BassGeekNation
Where I live it’s starting to get warmer and the spawn should be happening soon so this is a very important video thank you very much
Awesome I hope that it help you catch the big girls.
Amazing information. Thank you. I often am on banks with heavy cover and wood. This is so helpful.
You'll love this.
@@BassGeek yes indeed. I'm new to the sport and I've learned so much from guys like you. It's incredible. I already threw trashmaster and some rage craws in my Amazon cart
@@BassGeek man I tried a jig yesterday for the first time. I had 5 or 6 bites in 30 min...and I missed EVERY SINGLE HOOK SET!
I have only really had experience with a tex rig worm, so I Def need to adjust something.
Please help!
Fin tech used to make a Texas rig style jig I still got quite a few of em, awesome concept
I agree. Thanks for watching.
Good info as usual, thanks man!
Thanks sir.
Nice tips. I will have to try and thx.
Thank you very muich.
Finally some bank fishing info!
Hahaha I try to add some in here and there
I'm looking to try jigs. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching
I agree with all you suggested sir.id add wearing camouflage, and casting from behind or over bushes works great for me. Braided lines, and a high rod tip will get me a few extra sneaky bites. And the frog is a wonderful weedless option when the jig gets hung.and always wear polarized glasses. You can see so much more bait activity, and Match lure color and size to forage. And retrieve speed.
Great tips thank you.
I'm watching this for the sixth time because it never hurts to have the recap. Plus I just realized I never gave your video a like which will be the first thing I do after commenting!
Thank you I hope it helps.
Nice job and thanks for sharing with us.
Thanks sir. Hope it helps some people.
Wow. Funny how you made this. I have been fishing jigs for the past week or so. Realized I really want to learn how to use them since they are super versatile. Anyways, I've had good success and today I pulled in a nice 14 incher off just my second cast with one.
Seriously, thanks for this video. It really adds to your first one.
Oh, and I've lost 4 jigs in the past few days. These tips help.
Sounds like you got it down.
what great tips. i need these
Thank you!
Excellent video!! Thank you 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thanks I hope it helps!

great video it explained a lot ,thank you
Thank you sir.
Great info as always
Thanks man.
New sub. Recently started creating myself, and this video will help me tenfold with bringing more action to my content. Great video. Thanks.
Dang bro, your editing skills are top notch. Seriously, I'm going to be watching a lot of your videos and be studying. What is your editing software? I use Adobe Premiere Elements...or should say learning how to use it. Been using Kinemaster because it is compatible with my action camera, which makes things easy, since it's a phone based editing app. That said, I'm ready to stop being intimidated by Premiere. The overall clarity is a thousand times better.
Anyway, this is great!
Awesome and keep it up! It's a grind but you just push and find ways to make it meaningful to you.
I just use my Iphone and 3 gopro 5's. editing software is just the cheep Powerdirector 15 or 17 or whatever lol
Enjoyed video - Very informative. 3 questions - when fishing a lake (from boat or shore) that has both shad and bluegill, but very little or no grass - best color to start with? I love the design of trashmaster jig for it's weedlessness.A brushguard obviously helps, but is far from weedless. Having said that - 2nd question - is the trashmaster jig a good bass search bait or would you recommend another bait to search for bass. Last question - I have good electronics (Helix 12 G3N and Livescope), but little experience. I struggle as to where to start fishing when I get to lake - so much water. Do you have a video that may help? Thanks
I have a few videos on graphing. Use most of the fishing videos to break down lake and seasonal patterns. The jig is a good search bait if you use a swim jig or if your really I’n a situation where your flipping. There are a lot of search baits. Crankbaits, swimbaits, etc
I have lately been going to a shallow creek with a bunch of lay downs . I do this just to get away from the deep clear lakes I normally fish . I love to flip a jig and T rig sometimes and change it up. I just this year have really started to just chuck a jig in the thick of it and worry about it later lol. I think that's the biggest step is taking the leap and throwing it where the fish are instead of the perimeter of the lay down . Hope all is well bud .
All is well sir and I hope you are loving the new boat. I love the laydowns.
Hey, I'm here off a recommendation from good Ole Debo. Love these shore videos, I am a bank angler here in South Eastern Kentucky. I fish primarily the Lake Cumberland and Cumberland River complex. I deal with mostly clearish water, but after heavy rains it does get really muddy. I'm new to the area so I have no idea what the primary forage is. So I feel like most of the time I'm just taking my lures for a swim and not accomplishing anything. When I do catch something I try to repeat the pattern in similar types of cover to no avail. Basically every time I catch a fish it feels like dumb luck. So Mr. Bass Geek please help me! Signed the Bass Dumbass.
That lake is tough sir. I know it well. It’s just so steep and deep it’s hard to get a good read on. Man right now it’s gonna be small swimbaits, worms like a shaky head and Ned, and jigs. Slow down hit the high spots and don’t be afraid deep deep water. 50ft is a norm up there
Very helpful tips brother thanks...I've always loved throwing electric grape worms on a clear day and pumpkin on cloudy days and done very well!! Been having some trouble getting going days are getting a little warmer but the water is still a little cold...do u like elec.grape colors and how bout live shiners!!?? All from bank fishing!!?? And definitely threw u a sub...cant wait to check the rest of ur videos and new content!!! Thanks!!!
I used to fish shinners a lot when I was younger but not much anymore I don't think i've tossed a elec. grape.
The trashmaster is suck an amazing jig! Between the head design and the screw lock to Texas rig it. It’s a staple jig for me. That and the poison tail swimjigs from do it molds.
It really is. I love it
@@BassGeek ever tried the poison tail swimjigs from do it molds?
Jigs are the weakest part of my fishing game . Great tips and pointers . Now I just need the ice to melt so I can get out there !
I hope you get some soft water soon.
@@BassGeek won’t be for a few weeks here in Massachusetts!
Grab your drink, grab ya popcorn, grab your wife. Tell her dinner can wait,Bass Geek is on! Kids quiet down, the 🐐 is dropping knowledge. Time to enjoy!!!!!
Such good videos man! Never thought about downsizing to bring it up over cover from the bank. Extremely smart, excellent tip. Keep up the great work man!🏆🏆
hahahaha now that is funny. Thank you sir.
