This game is better than people are giving it credit for.
If it wasn’t up against Dragon’s dogma 2 and if the Nioh 2 community wasn’t so picky, people would be loving this game. I am having a blast
I agree, I own DD2 on PC and Ronin on PS5 and I didn't even boot the PC this weekend. The frame rate is shaky and the graphics are nothing special but the core combat and flow is amazing. It reminds me that I just want a good and fun game with core mechanics everything else is superfluous.
My friend that has always been the case with many team ninja games.
But hey we're having fun right?
No frfr
Big facts
To all the people knocking this game, I bought it last night and I’m having a hell of a time.
Ye The game is good. So underrated
same i beat it in 3 days when usually i beat most games overnight, starting a second data rn
I dont know if its better the sekiro(my favourite souls like) but rise of the ronin has kept me playing for more hours thats for sure. So much to do and so fun.
@@joeydirt420 same
I’d agree! Legitimately loved this game, combat and story with all the characters! Plus sakomoto is actually the most charismatic character npc he’s brilliant haha!
Brings back memories of the way of the samurai game , I am addicted to it
OMG I thought I was the only one who felt this way! I also miss the Way of the Samurai Series ... especially the Rice Ball Girl!
The katana quick draw and gikei ryu stances are what ninja games should all have. The flipping around crazy sideways a back. Plus slicing and putting the sword away as you spin around. Absolutely classic. Best game ever
Got Rise of the Ronin for my birthday and I'm really enjoying it! Thanks for the leveling advice.
Thanks for the info! Been having an absolute blast with this game
Love this! Thank you for the guide, super helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
I am enjoying this game and disagree with many of the reviewers about it. It has been fun for me.
This game is awesome but all the equipment levels and modifiers it’s kinda overwhelming. Like it’s almost too many things that have changed and levels etc. choice paralysis
Thanks for the info man, still figuring out how things work. I keep getting destroyed cuz I haven't been to blacksmith yet, makes sense now
Glad I watched this video! I'll avoid opening treasure chests until end game now
Excellent video just got a new subscriber. I was waiting for an explanation like this for the game. Thank you
thanks on the info of selling and dissemble since I was not sure what to do. I also wasn't paying attention to the equipment level ether.
Thank you so much. You broke that down very well.
Liking the odachi styles the most so far. Str/int or str/dex. This video really made me think about min maxing by not opening any chests till late game XD.
Thnx alot, that clears things up about the appropriate gear lvl to wear, im around lvl20, luv the katana and the game, playing on hardest difficulty (normal is just too easy). 🔥
I did not know about the treasure chest one, that's interesting to note of
Ty for this one. Can we get a guide about weapontypes and their strong and weak sides?
Very informative
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much 😁🙌💯
Would you ever consider doing a video on every set bonus and where to get them from black market vendors? I don’t know if the work load is worth it for you or not but I would love that video for build planning.
Oxtail is a fantastic weapon.
I really need to do an oxtail focused build, mainly did katana and odatchi before but so many people loving the oxtail!
Duuuuuude I love the flying kicks
Becoming my favorite besides the polearm and odachi
@@dgz1979I started playing staff first but I love the pole arm now, odachi is amazing too, i actually play all of the weapons, I always have my polearm equipped tho 😅
@@MonsteRNieR yeah man, I just mastered most of the stye arts and there's some combos setups that are amazing. This game is better than I thought.
Playing this game a bit late because I spent too much time in glorious Dragon's Dogma 2, was worried about Team Ninja after I despised Wo Long but this game fixes almost everything I disliked and your vids have been a nice addition.
been having a blast love the game
Just go enjoy the game - switch when you pick up a good weapon you're suited to, upgrade now and then - same for defense items. You'll be strong enough to win your fights either way.
My favorite weapon is hand to hand combat😊 , I noticed they have monks in the game so hopefully I'll unlock new fighting styles in this new region I just unlocked 😊
Unarmed combat doesn't have other styles as much as I can tell, but there are gear stats you can stack to significantly improve it
@kylenorris4068 ty💗, & I hope they'll add it in future dlc this game is amazing a gets bashed for no reason
@@YumiDaBarbiewhat’s your Psn? We can play together
I started out using the sabre and paired swords but then I found an oxtail blade and ive been hooked on paired swords and oxtail blade.. the oxtail doesn't seem to have much stagger or stunlock but god damn is it fun to use.. and the paired swords are so much fun as well, I just switch back and forth every couple encounters... but I've completely neglected the other weapon types lol
I just finished Twilight mode using a polearm which looks so cool (a bit slow though). I am practicing paired swords now for Midnight mode. Love the action/combat gameplay, so Team Ninja!
First bit of info flipped on a light for me. It explains a lot.
I am a huge fan of team ninja after my foray through the soulsborne series and since my nioh 2 days I gotta say the odachi is the most fun weapon to use in this game. The reach, the surprisingly fast Jigen-ryu style, all come together to create a dps/status process machine.
I might have to check this out. Dragons dogma 2 was kind of underwhelming. But GOT for Pc comes out next month
Does the upgrade system feel like its waiting for DLCs to be good like with NIoh 2 and Wo Long?
Anyone have any advice on which alliances to prioritize on your first playthrough
Damn so many things to be done
Does your initial build base build selection in character creation dictate equipment priority drop? I keep getting a bunch of katanas at my level but not getting many paired swords at my level.
I think thats because katanas are the most varied weapon. I don't get many paired swords or oxtail blades
Katana and Greatsword are my favorite weapons
Now all i need is a guide for Midnight mode that just doesn't consist of just getting good.
Can we have the creator code for your main protagonist! You look so good and I would love to use that as a base
FYI the pistols suck they are specifically good for critical hitting the enemy with L2 when they run out of Ki it does more damage than any other way, 7K+ at 250 damage and no buffs
Is it better for getting stronger to run around a clear the map as you go or to just go thru the story ?
Clearing the map will give you more exp, skill points and weapons/loot. You'll be stronger.
Which Black Market sell the Master Strategist? I haven’t had a lot of luck finding that set lol
It's in the third region. I can't remember where exactly, but he spawned after I cleared the camp. Sorry :(
Are you gonna do a guide for midnight mode when you get to it?
That last passive slot on orange gear can be swapped out multiple times too.
How do you increase the digit to the right? Like when you want a nasty skill further down the tree and it is locked because you have the points but not the level?
Great Video. Nothing really new to me since they used a similar System in Nioh or Wolong. Just wished the Player Ststs had more impact with more Variety on them. But im really suprised in the Variety of the Stances so even im still in the First Region i have lot of fun testing out the Stances, increase my Bond with the Mates to get Stance Upgrades. Also every Stsnce has a differend Parry Timing which makes it really hard sometimes to get the hang out of it.
Wait I have to know what the hell caused the camera to zoom in on your eyes for a moment that was so cool-
It’s a combat mechanic in the game called Ki Blaze
@@blaidehwahow to get it
@@blaidehwathanks a ton
@@Emperor-oh7nb You automatically get it when you get far enough into the story
Is it better to use gear with no special effects so you can add your own stats or just roll legend grade items and hope for the best ?
Gear with special effects is fine, just check the average quality gear in case they have good effects before you disassemble them.
That multiple assassination move is busted... just dod mission woth a group of guys on a path. I swung around and 1 shottes 6 guys. Mission complete.
How do you know what your max equipment level is? Do you just mean like the highest level of whatever you have equipped?
People were complaining about the horse.... Really??? This game is classic....
Hello, thank you for the helpful video! During the b-roll footage I noticed a reverse grip was being used with what seemed like the katana, and I was wondering if you could give me a bit more info on that. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I am a sucker for reverse grip combat and am away on holiday until next week so am unable to play the game. Thanks!
Time - 1:47
It's a combat stance for the katana you'll get later on. You need to bond with specific people to get their movesets.
@@IsraTheBlack that sounds really cool! Would you be able to tell me which stance/character I need to bond with so I can go for it as soon as possible? Thank you so much for your time.
@@noahthegamer4563I’ve been trying to figure this out Lol seems like everyone wants to keep it a secret
When you unlock the stance menu by getting your first stance, you can look at all of them and see how to unlock them.
@zackeryh250 Those are not all of them though. You can still unlock more that are not on the list yet.
I’m using paired swords and udachi
Same and I love it
5:30 whats that red coat thing called? And do you know where to find it?
R1 and by moving the right analog into the correct stance but stances only drop from certain enemies and bosses
so does your equipment level matter more than what the attack number says? because some low level gear have high attack numbers?
I wish upgrades weren't so damn expensive. there's gear with really good set bonuses and passives you can't get anywhere else but upgrading them to get to my character's current level would cost nearly all my materials.
Now im wondering if i shouldn't loot anything until mid to late game!?. If it scales from your lvl maybe its best to wait to loot chest ect.?.
Not gonna lie, Swaping weapons and stances was hard mid fight after a bit so i just used the wooden katana solo with just tatsumi-ryu stance. But in midnight stopped with the wood sword. But tatsumi-ryu had range, rush, and my favorite dodge so i haven't needed to use new stances or weapons
I’m at edo area, haven’t upgraded any weapon or transferred any slot yet, as I’m keep finding “better” rare set :/ When is the best time to stick to one ?
Finish everything in the area first then collect the chests at the end since chests scale with your level
I haven’t played a game this non stop since…. I can’t even remember 😅
That's the only thing holding these games back is how the gear and weapons system works, for me it's frustrating managing all that.
This is better than GOT idc the outfits the different weapons the different stances for the same weapons and all weapons the animations. Just wish there were more finishers but over all dole combat and outfits you can put together. Character customization on point. If it had better graphics I think ppl wouldn’t be so harsh on this game and would give it the respect it truly deserves
What’s that fighting style you’re using at 1:45
I bought dragons dogma 2 and now this and actually enjoy this game more.
How do you switch combat stances it didn’t really walk me threw that and no one is make videos on this
You have to have unlocked the different stances for the respective weapons, usually through bounties or raising your bond level with npcs (eg first rinen npc you meet will teach you other stance for Katatanas after you rest at the long house in the city- I gave him a bottle of alcohol as a gift to also raise bond level). After that you can equip it from menu screen firceach weapon/style. To switch stances in combat I think it was hold down R1(or L1?) then use the right analogy stick to select from weapon stances for that weapon.
@Trai1b1aze
okay bet thank you very much
And also a skill called violent gale I think it's called when your doing a combo with the style your using during the combo switch the switch and the character will do a spin attack Indicating that you switch styles and continue in your combo but u have to unlock it once I unlock it I Been doing lots of crazy shit that I Finish him with the ryu hayabusa izuna drop Technique
@@Trai1b1azeAlso, when you gift items, the one one with a heart next to them will show which gift is the best for that specific character.
How do I craft flaming whetsone
After act 1 i completed the First area to 100% so every legendary weapons from that area is low Level now.. was ist a big mistake? Or does the Game has new Game plus and i can get These weapons on an Higher Level again?
it was a mistake to get them early
So does it matter if you're using equipment hight than your player level
So buy weapons instead of upgrading?
Where does it show you your overall equipment level
Im cheesing Twilight difficulty with Dual Blades (my fave weapon in Nioh2) with 4pc Mighty Warrior and 4pc Marvelous Sword Saint. Currently Level 40 at Chapter 2 with 1st and 2nd map at 100%.
How and where did he get that ninja face mask on the thumbnail of his vid?
Ty
Wow, I’m silly. I’ve been collecting chest quite early to get 100% in each region. I should’ve waited, haha
Well its true the Chests scale with your level, i would still say the Statpoints you get from completing a Region is still more valuable than Gear you maybe didnt even need. Especially in the early Stages of the Game.
Same. It sounds like it's the same as hogwarts legacy. But there's probably so much gear it won't matter
@@356z yep too much loot
Yeah but I wouldn't avoid chests just to save them for later on bc once you finish the game you're going to want to go NG+ OR farm midnight gear anyway
3:10 "Increases the number of medicinal pills replenished when auto-refill is activated".
How do you get to have auto-refill activated? Is it a skill in one of the skill trees or what? And if it is, under what skill tree is it? I have yet to find and/or see it. Or is it in one of the settings?
They mean auto fill as in when you touch a banner example I have all the upgrades in this category and when I touch a banner I restore and carry 10 healing pills
Thank you@@nealwhite6133 . I searched everywhere for "auto-fill" before and couldn't find any explanation for it. Cheers
Do a video on how to bond transfer on a Gourd now lol
There is a gameplay option to auto disassemble and/or sell equipment based on rarity. Does anyone use this? I think it would reduce the amount of inventory fiddling so I can get back to the action but I’d hate to lose something decent.
Does anyone know if u get less rewards throughout the missions if u do them coop?
Fuck the reviews this game is so much fun. Perfect to tide me over to shadow of the erdtree.
U got a like and u sub from me my friend this actually helps alot i am new to the game so this video here will help me out big time ty so much Buddy
Dos this game have Mandarin subtitles or in Mandarin language when buying in Sydney
I got really unlucky I have my armor set and weapon build set it’s that I have to go through farm hell to upgrade them.
tip at 6:45 is godlike
Oxtail sword
How did u get that mask in the thumbnail?
I would also like to know...
Maybe from the hidden region of "Futosjoppa"?
Best way to own currency is definitely save scumming the gamble mini game and clearing areas imo
Pretty cool steam-punk ronin game. Basically create a sweet character and make your own story.
Get past the combat learning curve and through the first few hours and it’s worth the price of admission
What is the max weaopn/armor level? 500?
I’ve had this game for a week and literally all my spare time goes toward it. Glad I ignored those mixed reviews.
I love this game but i hate looter system games. I somewhat know what I'm doing but this is very confusing because I don't play souls like games. I haven't played nioh or wo long so i don't know what I'm suppose to do with all this gear outside of disassembling them or selling them.
How do you get Mathew Perry's outfit in thumbnail?
Just keep playing the game you get it later on in a mission it’s a spoiler so just keep playing
@@thegamewin100 alright, thanks
He has a couple missions tied to him. Complete them and he rewards the commodor's outfit.
I do not upgrade any weapon or clothes. I feel like it’s pointless since they sometimes upgrade on their own and or you get clothes stronger than what you are wearing. Upgrading clothes is really only if you want to literally only wear that one set of clothes the entire time so you keep upgrading that one set. Other than that upgrading clothes and weapons don’t make sense to me
once u find a build that u feel is efficient to u than upgrading the gear will be needed to get the full potential out of it but builds are more substantial in new game plus but some people like to have builds early on
I'm currently not running any specific build right now I just slap on random gear with higher lvl and I read the stats to see if its beneficial to my playstyle
guys I have a problem, I can't use the rifle anymore, nothing happens when I press the aim button, I can only use the bow... does anyone know how to solve it? Thank you
Switch sub weapons during combat no in the menu
There’s a lock on some equipment and weapons I loot and I can unlock it but I’m not sure what this means or what that does when I unlock it ???
When you have the Auto dismantle or Auto sell Option turned on in the Game settings then Equipment wirh a lock isnt sold or dismantled. I for myself have the Wooden Weapons locked since there some Missions where you dont have to kill someone but since there Blue Rarity they would auto dismantled when i rest at a Banner. But locked they never get dismantled.
I noticed that too and I thinkkkkk it’s when you get it as like a reward for completing something and not just from looting. Like a quest or like from sending your cats out to collect things. I think.
@@khvngbvng when items are locked by default then there usually unique Items with a unique Skin on it. You can still unlock it an sell/dissamble it since you can change your appearence anytime in the Longhouse.
@@DantoriusD thanks I was so confused. I thought it had something to do with the weapon scaling. Like I wasn’t able to use it effectively cause of my build
Good video. But I’m still lost lol
It is sort of strange that they brought over most of the systems bloat and complexity of Nioh, yet the combat itself seems jankier and less polished. They have lots of junk gear, the inventory management has more filters than ever before, yet comparing gear is still tedious. Doing upgrades is incredibly expensive, so getting current level gear from treasure chests and vendors and just doing without the exact build you want is easier and makes the gear breakdown and upgrade system another system that could have been left out.
Part of the issue with the combat is that most of the time with melee combat, except for stealth kills, you are having to engage multiple enemies, all of which might attack, so you end up swapping your lock-on a lot. Then you have all the combat styles, which need to be unlocked and learning which to use is again less intuitive than the combat from past titles.
I just switched to Dawn mode and turned on the other two helper options, it wasn't worth the effort to even play on "normal" and deal with all the nonsense. You'll still die on Dawn mode for a variety of reasons, but you can largely ignore the dumb game elements they kept from Nioh...
1000% agree.
I bond transfer all my equipment to boost ninja stars and arrows and affliction ..
Clear all the region's and youll get a shitload of Oban to sell, money wasnt a problem for me due to this.
i dont like how my player looks like..can i change it again?
Yes, in the longhouse.
Explain equipment level… if a katana has a equipment level of 15, does that mean my character needs to be at least level 15 to utilize the weapon to its fullest?? I don’t see anything that has my current equipment level in the menu screens, just my character level..
