Can you UA-camrs stop with the overly dramatic titles “MY BRUTALLY HONEST OPINION”. As if you’re talking about something extremely serious. I see the same title a lot.
It’s like, “brutally honest“ as opposed to what? “My lukewarm honest opinion“. “My half honest opinion”. “Eh, here’s my opinion. I threw a couple lies in, here and there. Told a few fibs. Keep you guys on your toes”.
If they dont utilized bold comments then no one would ever watch their content tho. I also dislike they doing it but I understand this is their way to get views.
@@Tollgrinder282 that’s not true at all. There are tons of gaming channels that don’t utilize overly dramatic titles. SkillUp being one of them. All he said it “I recommend” or “I don’t recommend”.
Listen, it’s not a big deal, it’s just one of those cringey things that make me roll my eyes. Like how else would you review a game if not honestly? “Hey guys, here’s my half honest review of this game. I do tell some fibs, it’s just a prank bro” 🤣.

@@Tollgrinder282Nah bro, I'm here cause I'm searching for Rise of the Ronin reviews. Videos like this pop off without the bombastic titles. 90% of the huge youtubers like zackrawr now called Asmongold started with normie vids and underwhelming titles who exploded into popularity because their content is good.
15 hours in and im falling in love with the story, there are some hiccups here and ther where i get confused cause no one accuses me of anything but the bonds, the risks, the story is making me so invested.
"It's simply a fun game to play." Thats all a gamer should be looking for. All of the other fluff that people seem to want from a game these days is what's killing this industry. My copy is in the mail and I'm looking forward to it.

Games are cheap in the grand scheme of things. Everyone has a budget but the idea that $60-70 is an outrageous amount is not a serious argument in 2024.@@tlungu962

You create them both and then right at the intro you pick which one you want to main.
You pick at the beginning and I think your other twin eventually becomes your enemy based on some of the footage in this video, so it’s not a sure thing if you even get to play as them again after the prologue
Basically you create the protagonist and antagonist….. actually a dope concept and yes you choose who you want to play as going forward
Dd2 was great, but I have invested about 60 hrs more in rise of the Ronin. After about 3 hours I got really into rise. Platinumed both rise and dd2.
In terms of longevity, rise of Ronin is better
Assassin's creed combined with Nioh. Im in.
Nah Wo long. Feels like this is what Wo Long should have been. Not quite Nioh level
Nioh has it beat by miles. Team Ninja went backwards , because open world, but they tried…. First one for them so 🤷🏻♂️ they need Nioh Combat and graphics, with all the add ons of this game like glider/grappling hook basically. Just make an open world Nioh 3 basically🤷🏻♂️
@walkbyfaithnotbysight6290 I kinda agree. I'd say my only issue with nioh is there were a handful of moves that only worked on humans. Other then that. Niohs combat is top notch. I wouldn't mind them keeping the human only aspect but definitely need niohs combat. It would be a bonus if they made a story I cared about
I prefer many aspects of this game over nioh. Now I love nioh and got platinum on both, but the stance system in rise is significantly better and fantastic

The review is biased. It’s his opinion. Opinions are biased. You just happen to agree with it.

i bought this game preordered a while ago i think my purchase will be worth it. first 30 seconds bro said its fun with wo long combat which i enjoyed alot so im playing

what's the difficulty like? for example is normal actual normal or challenging? is easy sit back and relax or is it normal lol
This is Team Ninja so i am expecting easy to be like most other games normal mode, normal to be like most other games hard mode, and hard mode to be Ninja Gaiden in an open world game. There is a unlockable extra hard mode when you beat the game and that is where Team Ninja sends you an actual sword and you have to fight for your life literally😂
There is a section dedicated to difficulty in this review. It can be quite challenging, depends on what difficulty setting you decide on.
I think the difficulty comes from the incredibly inconsistent parrying and dodging, most of the time I have no idea when I should push the button, the visual cues are not 100% at indicating the inputs
After playing 8 hrs of this game yours is hands down THE BEST REVIEW on UA-cam complete 100% agree with everything and you didn't miss a thing

Gotta say, i LOOOOVE the autoskip cutscene function in this game, i wish ALL games had that 😅 got the platinum in 30 hours thanks to this 🙏 HELLA time saver

What a great verdict!! (and i agree ofcourse, luv the game, and i think alot are let down by unrealistic (seeing all pre release trailers) expectations when starting this game)
So I love the game but the problem I have with it is the texture and shadow popping that happen almost all the time and gets really frustrating
How are you flipping around like that at 15:46?
One of the katana combat styles makes you flip when you dodge. I forgot the name of the style.

What difficulty did you play on?
I tested all three to see the difficult scaling. Most of playthrough was on Dusk, followed by Twilight. But been in Midnight since hitting the endgame.
great review, just started after 8 hours or so lvl 11 love it. It's not perfect but the combat, story , bond system are quite brilliant. The loot system is overwhelming though we dont need so much junk
i’ll probably wait until a sale for this, it seems like a solid game i would enjoy playing and finishing but it isn’t exactly what i was looking for from this title.
in my opinion team ninja hasn’t hit the same since Nioh 2
Gonna play GoT first on PC, then play RotR later if they port it to PC.
I loved Nioh 2 and Wo Long (AFTER they patched it and added some new DLC's and game mechanics), so I'm sure I'll enjoy both this AND GoT.
As a Rurouni Kenshin fan, this game is perfect! I'm loving every hour in it. Call and mounting your horse is the smoothest game, much better and less glitchy than Ghost of tsushima

In regards to your difficulties with bosses, you don’t fight TN bosses by smashing buttons. You have to learn their patterns and master the fighting styles. It’s still difficult but much more satisfying after you win.
This is learning stuff people organically developed by playing either team ninja games or Sekiro. Happened the same with lies of P, once the combat clicks. Game is fun

Maybe I could get behind the idea of short development cycles and mid games if they weren't still priced at $70 apiece
It's not a mid game. Nioh 2 was brilliant. Wo long was really good. Roning is dope too but I am not far enough to say how good
@@RealMonkeyDKirby Nioh 2 WAS brilliant. Wo Long was ok and Ronin is painfully mediocre. Once you play the first region that's it. You've experienced everything the game has to offer. There is 0 innovation after that. Just the same formula over and over. Wo Long literally only came out last year and already Ronin is out? The quality shows. It was rushed.

@@RealMonkeyDKirby Nioh 2 improved on nioh 1. Better loot, better enemy variety, better parry system, yokai abilities, better level aesthetic variety and design... it's not nostalgia at all i literally only played through it a year ago.
Fight one Rise of Ronin boss, you've pretty much fought them all.
@oxsila nioh 1 was just a shitty game. The improvements from 1 to 2 have nothing to do with anything. Nioh 2 had a ton of repeat enemies and bosses. Noone cared. There's no yokai in Robin. Its not meant to have monsters
It is alright, nothing too special or new, just something to play through until Stellar Blade comes out next month
Always at least look at Team Ninjas releases as with the fall of Platinum they are my favorite dev team now. I think ill wait on this one though. Not a fan of open world games at all tbh unless its a sandbox type game experience. Best open world ive seen in a narrative type game is probably Elden Ring and I much preferred Demons and Dark Souls over that. This looks much more Ubisoft checklist stuff which I despise but maybe im wrong.
Do more often than not like how Team Ninja does combat though so maybe I will pick it up on sale sometime. Ive got so many games I need to play atm so unless something amazing comes out im good for a few years.

I absolutely loved this game. All the different styles of combat is amazing. The open world does remind me of assassin's creed....... but it does not feel like a assassin's creed game..... if that makes sense. If your thinking about buying this one then DO IT.

It's those difficulty spikes that just piss me off. I don't mind difficult! I have bought and finished games that are sold as "difficult," It when you are going along smoothly, struggling here and there and then it suddenly spikes HARD, and you can get one-shot by some boss that appears. Even three minutes into a boss fight, a single miss means game over. Start from zero. That's just not fun. That's a miserable grind to play the same enemy over and over until you get it just perfect.

Game was probably intended for PS4 and was stuck in development hell. This why graphics sometimes look last gen, and the uncoherent story and open world. Game does not have quality as other PS exclusives, and a lot of people are mixed on it. Knowing it's not a perfect game to settle your expectations before going in, will make your experience better. Game is good, but not great. Gonna get it on sale

The only thing I liked about this game was the combat which was pretty fun, but story and dialogue is such an important component of what makes a great game. Take RDR & RDR2 for example - amazing story with such interesting characters, and even the characters in the side missions are interesting. In this the story and everyone in it is extremely boring. Kudos to you for sitting through all the dialogue or lack there of with no talking and multiple choice questions because I found it so boring I ended up not even caring what answer I made and just button mashed through the dialogue/cut scenes, and wanted to just get the game over with because imo it just wasn’t gripping at all
I was hoping for it to be more like Nioh with spells and demons with some kind of innovation in the game, but from what I have seen it’s more like assassins creed 💩🤦♂️ gutted, I was so excited for this! 😭

Get ds remastered 100%. Even though the final quarter of the game is giga mid, the first 3/4 is some of the best gaming ever

I've been in the same boat.
Im probably doing RotR 1st just because it feels like a safer bet. There's a few things in DD2 that worry me like: How theres no real questline or direction and no way to travel.
I hope to play both, but like you said, if I get both, ill sorta half play each and never give them my full attention
Depends what u like? Open ended game design, than dragon's dogma..a little hand holding then rise of the ronin..
Its very very hard to understand what to do next in dragons dogma because of its very open ended design

Get this. Dragon's Dogma has more than enough blind support because lots of people are impressed merely by ambitious ideas instead of a PS5 game actually trying to be optimized for the PS5 (at very least we should be in the habit of rewarding the effort to put in a performance mode so the game can run in the vicinity of 60FPS while still being something that's already proven to be solid)

I actually enjoyed Wo Long a lot more. It's evident that Team Ninja can't make open world games. They don't put in enough variety. Wo Long and Nioh work because each level tries to at least be different, but when they make an open world like Ronin it's all the exact same formula over and over and over
GOT mix with LaD Ishin
Best combat period I haven't had this much fun playing a game since sekiro.

I'm super disappointed how much the game falls after the first region. 0 innovation. 0 variety. Just the exact same formula in every way all over again. Same formulaic side quests, same cat collectibles, same outpost things and same priority targets. Once I realised, I just started focusing on the main quests. It was all seeming so great until I realised. I was actually convincing myself Team Ninja would make right what Ubisoft always get wrong when it comes to making a varied open world but I was wrong. This game soon gets more repetitive than most Ubisoft games. Wish they'd take time to make their games quality instead of quantity. Nioh 2 for now remains the gold standard of what Team Ninja are capable of.
Agreed, Nioh 2 was their magnum opus and now anything else they create just pales in comparison, and in a lot of ways keeps feeling worse. Strange of Paradise, Wo Long, and now this, it just keeps feeling more and more watered down with zero innovation. And my goodness, can we stop with the endless, worthless loot already.

Am i only one that thinks this is better than ghost of tsuhsima? The only thing that game has is better graphics/aesthetics. This game much more detailed, decisions can influence what happens in the game. A more in depth combat system and you actually bond with the NPCS and it matters in this game. 8 or 9 out of 10 game to me

I hate the controls sometimes. I still can’t grasp the concept of O being the gallop and L3 being the dismount.

I can't hear that crap, it's like this and that. Nioh had stealth if you wanted to play it that way, with assassination and sneaking up to enemies. Sekiro had a grappling hook, could you do all the thing you can do in rise of the ronin with it? And the grafiks, come on, I don't give a... as long it isn't totally crappy who cares. The game should be fun, good gameplay mechanics and not to much boring crap in open world( like assassin's creed). How long have we waited for such a game like this. Don't ruin it with wrong expectations. This is a team ninja open world game!!! And it's great

Stellar blade is the PS5 exclusive that is needed, Rise of the ronin outdated graphics, low draw distance so bad PS2 2004s GTA San Andre had better draw distance, and gameplay is buggy smh this ain't it and team ninjas fanboys are out of control in the comments 😅
Regardless if it’s a “fun game” it’s shameful to charge ppl the “next gen price” when it clearly isn’t that. Games went up in price for “next gen” and last gens generally would stay cheaper, so yeah this is a definite wait for sale game for me.

I came here after i spent more time in character creation than in game ... i said Nope after garbage tutorial . Bad attempt at a rip off of nioh or wo long dynasty with sekiro hook . I bypassed tutorial without changing character.. combat is so bad i just can't. I was wondering of sprint button after that tutorial appeared so pointless and then same goes for killing blow did it before the tutorial .. garbage graphics . In my opinion is the most disappointing game ever I had the chance to try !
Unfortunately, I might just be on the outside of this review 77 on meta critic for a Sony studio exclusive is bad, IMO.

Totally agree (ppl tripping on review scores 🙄). Over 100 critics have reviewed ROtR and only slightly over 50 have reviewed DD2 (on Metacritic)....I'm willing to bet that a lot of the low scores received by critics, are from those who struggled with playing ROtR (and got frustrated so they trashed it)....I've pre-ordered it and definitely can't wait to play it!

He Said "RotR is team ninjas first attempt of a game in this genre" ummm no, nioh, nioh 2, stranger of paradise, wo long and RotR are all action RPGs, open world isn't a genre, it's a world design style, like the zone style of the previous games, open world doesn't tell you anything about the genre, an open world could be a FPS, a third person shooter, an action adventure, an action RPG, a MMO and some others im forgetting

@@Sketch2805Studioshe is not wrong, infamous second son, the launch title of ps4 had way better lighting, walking and running animations, as well as higher particle detail as well. So if we see that way, it looks like something below ps4. Maybe simply due to the overall color grading but something is way off. If you see ghost of tsushima, none of the textures, water physics, snow physics are a standout in the game, but it's beauty is beyond explaination. Just due to good polish. Do you see how the horse runs in rotr??? Witcher 3 has better horse animations. And these thing even though not being major still affect the immersiveness of the game.
