    Awesome. Very useful. Thanks for starting with the connections to the interface and the dongle needed for the iPad. Great for beginners.

    I have followed this and grasp it. Thank you very much. Now I need to know how, if I have recorded 2 tracks as you did at the end of this video, to pan the two tracks left and tight for Stereo effect. Garage band has pan sliders but I can find nothing like that in Cubasis 3. Help from anyone appreciated.

      Hi, OK, at the top, where the transport is, at the left hand side tap the MIXER Icon, this will open the mixer.
      You will see all the tracks in your project.
      At the top of each Mixer Channel you will see the letter C, this stands for center, tap and drag that C either left or right for panning, I hope this helps.

    Doug, thank you so much for this. I bought Cubasis 2 over a year ago, and I’ve never been able to get my head round it until now. You are a star.
    Can I ask where the red and blue leads in the back of the Audiofuse are going to (or coming from)?

    • @TheSoundTestRoom
      @TheSoundTestRoom  4 роки тому

      Frank Mason Hi Frank, thanks, the Red and Blue cables are just the left and right output from the AudioFuse, they are going into my mixer so you can here what’s going on in the video, if you are just recording at home you can just get away with plugging in your headphones to the AudioFuse or whatever Audio Interface you are using

      Same here, Frank. I'm holding off on getting Cubasis 3 until I learn Cubasis 2 first, and it has been a struggle, so far.

    This is really useful and I do enjoy your style of videos. I am curious about latency and timing. Possibly I am worrying about nothing (I am only just starting out) but I find for example: when playing my synth into the audio interface, I can listen to the audio interface output *or* I can listen to Cubasis' output. But that has a slight delay (I can hear it if I listen to both).
    I'm not totally sure if the recording will line up with my actual playing or with Cubasis' output or somewhere in between. Then I notice there is a "Audio Recording Offset Compensation" setting...
    I need to experiment more and figure it out, but if you ever do a video explaining that stuff I'm sure it would be very helpful! :)

    • @TheSoundTestRoom
      @TheSoundTestRoom  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, you will hear slight latency if you listen to both, just listen to Cubasis, the audio will be perfect

    Question, I own a 2020 iPad Pro with USB-C and appropriate hub, but can’t get my SSL to record my audio signal into Cubasis 2. The software recognized the SSL2 and plays back audio through it but doesn’t see the input coming I no matter what I do. But yet using my iPad Air 3 with the lighting connector and USB-C connectors from the SSL2, I have no audio recording or input issues at all.

    This is such a great video! I have a question, I connected my old mbox to cubasis, it appears the input is in the daw as I can see on the mixer page there’s sound, and when I sing, I can hear my voice coming from the PA. however, the inserted effect is not functional, when I had them turned on. The output is not coming back to mbox and then to the PA, because when I hit play in cubasis 3, only the iPad is making the sound. Any idea? Thank you

    I can’t find anything on using Cubase 3 for the speaking voice? From your videos I’m pretty sure you use it for that as well. Do you have any tricks or advice for that? By the way hi Jo! I will be back to your live feeds soon! A little bit of a ticker tape parade in my chest the last few months!

    Hi,
    I have a problem with my cubasis 3. I have steinberg ur12 sound interface. I connected my phone with usb. Than I check on the cubasis settings. And I can see ur12 in input devices. OK. That's the interesting point: I can record mic voice with phantom 48, load and clear. But I can't record my guitar. I plug in my guitar TRS line input but I can't record anything. No sound, no wave... Than I open the basic recorder on my samsung phone. It's work! I can record my guitar. But in the cubasis 3 I can't... Can you help me? :) thank you.

    Is it possible to have the roli noise connected via bluetooth, and then have an audio interface with synth, guitar and vocals at the same time through cubasis? I’m looking to connect my seaboard and blocks to my hardware (synth, guitar and vocals).

    Would Cubasis three support the SM7B microphone and the SSL2 plus audio interface?

    • @TheSoundTestRoom
      @TheSoundTestRoom  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, that should be fine, the mic would not be the problem, if anything it would be the interface.
      Any interface you use with iOS needs to be Class Compliant, meaning it needs no Driver to work.
      I don't have an SSL2 to test it with Cubasis 3, but according to Solid State Logic the SSL2 is a Class compliant interface, therefore it should just work.
      This is further supported by the fact that it is also compatible with MAC OS, and that has to be Class compliant.
      So, yes, it should be fine.

      @@TheSoundTestRoom It worked! For some odd reason, GarageBand on my iPhone doesn’t support the SM7B, but the iPhone version of Cubasis 3 supports the SM7B. Interesting.

    Can Cubasis record audio from another iPad app (i.e, Scaler 2)? I'm baffled to how to get a chord progression out of Scaler 2 and into a Cubasis 2 track. I have tried exporting/importing MIDI. That got me nowhere. So, how can I record audio from Scaler 2 into Cubasis, and how do I set a chord progression to repeat when played back in Scaler?

    • @TheSoundTestRoom
      @TheSoundTestRoom  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Gary, yes it can, it would be impossible to answer your question with text, miles too complicated for that.
      I will do a video on how to use Scaler 2 with Cubasis 3, maybe this week.
      In the meantime here is a link on using it in GarageBand

      i use scaler 2 inside cubasis 3, i set up instruments however i want in cubasis and once i get scaler to make a good riff i record what i need it to midi and import those midi files into cubasis, once the midi is on the timeline i go into interapp effects to each track setup scaler 2 as the effect and then use the perform toggle on the simple midis and each track uses scaler differently with the same progressions, you can also record scaler 2 through cubasis but i find it easier in the case of accuracy to use scaler to export the midi, and the use scaler inside cubasis as an effect to read the midi, i really butchered this explaination, but thats how i set it up, basically inside cubasis you can make riffs with scaler and in the stabdalone app but i allways export the midis and use those on the timeline itself and just change the interapp effect from scaler once yhe midis already in the project:

    I really don't like hat it shows that little spinning wheel going along in the track as you're recording. I much rather prefer to see the waveform being built as it records.

      Check your playback/source mix knob if you have one. Also you have to turn of monitor off (the blue speaker button)on the track to be able to hear the recording.
