    Great watch. I like the one with applied markers. The WD1970S BB36 Snowflake looks great as well.

    Yes, I would pay more for sapphire. My daily is a Baltany field style watch - sapphire crystal, 3 years - no scratches.

      Thanks Harvind. It’s crazy that 2 of my most worn watches in the past few weeks have been watches under $100.

    Nice watch, and a nice review. The only thing missing is a view of the case back, or a mention of if it is snap-on or screwed-in. I like the watch size and the subtle differences from the original... honestly, I think it's a significant improvement in several ways, especially the cleaner dial. Looks great , btw, on black leather! I just subscribed... looking forward to more vids!

    Great review my friend! I'm not a big fan of quartz watches myself. That being said, I usually have 1 in the collection (Seiko Flightmaster) to wear when I have to leave the house quickly. They definitely have their place.

      Ah man I miss my flighty. Might have to add it back to the collection one day. My Casio has always had that position in my collection but it doesn’t always fit with my outfit

    It's always good to have at least one quartz in your collection. For me its a mechaquartz chrono. It's my "grab and go"

    I currently own 5 watches with the VH 31, it is a great movement. Good alternative to keep costs down while while keeping the mechanical feeling. I am tempted to buy this or the BB 36 they recently launched. I already own the pagani version of it but in Tiffany blue, I'd like to check the black and gold, and this feels like is better made than the Corgeut and Parnis.

    This is my first 36mm. It's a little small; but, I'm getting used to it. I like the brushed, non-bling look.
    Note: 20mm Nato straps fit fairly easily.

    Quartz watches have becoming more popular these days has to do with the economy. If not entirely, it will be a major factor of it.

  • @seanhickling7340
    @seanhickling7340 11 місяців тому +2

    There's so much snobbery aimed at quartz watches as if these people's self worth is determined by their watch movement!
    We all have mechanical pieces...
    Get over yourself; you're nothing special, buttercup.
    Quartz are low maintenance highly accurate gada timepieces that you can just throw on and in many cases look just as good as an automatic or mechanical.
    The mechaquartz movements are just a massive bonus.

  • @kleinbottled79
    @kleinbottled79 10 місяців тому +1

    Yes I would pay a little bit more for a sapphire crystal. Part of why I bought a Pagani Design PD1751. Similar looking watch. Right now, with no sales, I see one at $78. NH35 movement too. I don't hate quartz but still prefer an automatic.

    Waiting did the sapphire crystal. Just something that I always look for since it gives me peace of mind that the crystal will not scratch. They have another version of this watch with the black bay hands. Waiting for that as well. Hopefully it's out by the November sale event 😊

    • @HHWatchReviews

      The explorer or the ranger? Depending on my outfit, because the explorer is a bit classier and the ranger is really more toolish. But both have been sharing wrist time in past few weeks

    Great video, thanks! I don’t mind the mineral glass. WatchDives says it’s a hardlex glass, if that’s the case, I don’t mind the one in my Seiko so I’m fine with this one. Also, I will buy a quartz watch only if it’s a Meccaquartz. It’s the sweeping second hand that I love about automatics and now I don’t like looking at the regular quartz watches but meccas will do. I might just pull the trigger on this one before the sale is over 😅

    • @HHWatchReviews

  • @DavidRon
    @DavidRon 11 місяців тому +2

    The movement of the vh31 is actually 32,77hz, not 2hz. The second hand moves at 4 ticks per second, or 4hz. Nothing about this watch is "2hz".
    Mechanical watches are often cited as running (x/2)hz where x is the speed of the second hand because the second hand is moved for every tick and every tock of the escapement (twice the speed of the escapement). This watch is not mechanical.

  • @vincentvangogh4174
    @vincentvangogh4174 9 місяців тому

    Looking to get this, specifically because it's quartz, and wanted to get something as cheap as possible. Not the cheapest option, but the best looking for price. Why quartz? Almost every day I do some firewood splitting with an axe, which can be a lot of shock. Simple, small quartz would be perfect beater instead of my automatics.
