So nice. I can’t wait for part 2!! I’m learning a lot! Thank you.
Thank you very much! I’m so happy to know that the videos are helpful! YAY! I appreciate your comments & support! 🙏😊💜
Karen I love it..Would it work if you textured it first then bend it? I did a spoon bowl like that. It came out great. I never thought about a bracelet. Great idea..💜🙏🏼💪🏼🩷😀
Thx my friend! The very first bracelet I made without the whole band textured i did flat & bent it at the end! It was not good because the bending caused the copper tape (which was soldered) to separate from the aluminum blank. I was NOT happy about that & couldn’t fix it because the solder won’t stick just to the aluminum! The 1st fully textured bracelet I tried texturing flat but when I went to bend it the ends no longer fit in the bender tool because it was much thicker!!! I managed to bend it by hand with a bending plier but it was much harder & risked messing up the texture! It’s way more efficient & effective to just form the band AFTER texturing it! It just takes practice but it’s relatively simple once you get the hang of it! 🙏😊💜
Hello! I love your work and thank you so much for the wonderful videos. ❤ I have a question, does this technique cause rust/corrosion and any skin allergies?
Thank you kindly! Many people can develop sensitivities to any metal, it just depends on their individual body chemistry & all metals including soft solder which is tin based can develop oxidation except gold & stainless steel. I typically apply a protective sealant on my pieces but depending on how active a person is that sealant can wear off. I appreciate your interest & support! 🙏😊💖
@@karensintuitivejewelry Thank you so much!🌷
How did you make the two rings you’re wearing, specially the tear drop one. Thanks so much for awesome videos.
Thanks for your interest & support! Each ring is made with a different technique! The teardrop Moonstone ring is made with Hard soldering using a butane torch & the Titanium Quartz ring is made using a soldering iron & soft solder. I didn’t make a tutorial on the teardrop specifically but I did make one using a different stone if you’re interested! You can check my different play lists to browse the different techniques! Here’s a Short of how the hard soldering rings are made…

And here’s a video of the soft soldering ring…totally different technique!

Hi Karen, nice to watch this video. Question for you, if the bottom base is what will be soldered & holding the crystal, why put the copper tape around the edge? Thanks so much for your reply 🙏🏼🌺💗
Well this technique is very different from traditional silversmithing! First off there really isn’t a “bottom base” to the crystal such as with a backplate in smithing! The copper foil tape IS basically the bezel & backplate. Without the copper tape the soft solder (also completely different solder from silversmith solder) will not adhere! Thanks for your interest & support! 🙏😊💖
@@karensintuitivejewelry I do understand this, however, in the case of a ring, the bottom of the crystal/stone is what is going to be sitting on the ring, then is that the same concept 🤔
@@ingridinthis3d5dnow25 even though the bottom of the stone is “sitting” on the ring or bracelet blank it’s the sides of the stone that are actually attached with the soft solder NOT the bottom because you can’t reach or touch the bottom of the stone any longer unless it’s an open back such as with the adjustable rings I recently made! But the side adhere is still crucial!Make sense? I hope I’m explaining myself & if not watch more videos! Thx again for your interest!

Hello I am in class today thank you. I heard you mentioned HARD soldier what is that and do you have a class on that? Kathy from Cali. 😎
Hard soldering is using a torch & 3 different types of soldering….Hard, Medium & Easy. It’s a completely different technique than soft soldering with a soldering iron.
I have several tutorials on this as well. You can look at my playlists for several different types of mediums I create with. Here’s the playlist for the hard soldering projects!

Great work! Do you have to wrap the copper all around the aluminum blank? Could you apply the copper to the outside of the blank and just over the sides or does it come off when you apply the solder?
It’s best to have a continuous application because after all the copper foil tape is just an adhesive & if you just have a layer you’re at a far greater risk of it coming apart! I always tell folks to give their ideas a try themselves so that they can have a clear understanding of how this works! I have done pendants that were a partial wrap & definitely had concerns about security BUT a pendant gets way less wear & tear then a bracelet so I wasn’t willing to take a risk! Ideally with applying the copper foil tape the ends overlap providing more security & less risk of the tape lifting from the edges! I hope I explained it good enough.
@@karensintuitivejewelry Excellent reply.
Fantastic! So helpful. Quick questions... Do you get the stones individually on amazon or a mixed bag? And how much on average do you sell bracelets for? Many thank yous!!
Thx so much! I don’t purchase my gemstones on Amazon but most everything else. I purchase stones from Soul Star Crystals on Facebook & the link to their group is always list in the description box! They usually have 3 different price categories of $10, $15 & $20 per BOX of items! Great values & only $5 S/H They usually have 1 to 3 shows per week depending on their inventory schedule as they do not have regular inventory!

I price my bracelet anywhere between $35 - $60 depending on the gemstone, materials used & complexity of the item
Hope this helps! 🙏😊💜
Thank u so much for sharing!!!!! I am very inspired by all of your hard work and creativity!!!
@@anntralka9749thanks a million! I’m so happy to hear that you are enjoying the tutorials! 🙏😊💜
Do you think the solder would crack if you imprinted while bracelet totally flat and the shaped bracelet?
It’s tricky. The very first bracelet I made without the whole band textured i did flat & bent it at the end! It was not good because the bending caused the copper tape (which was soldered) to separate from the aluminum blank. I was NOT happy about that & couldn’t fix it because the solder won’t stick just to the aluminum! Hi Karen, can you keep it strait and stamp the solder and then bend the bracelet ?
Soft solder isn’t as strong as sterling silver so I think you’d definitely risk the coating coming loose in areas but you should definitely give it a try & let me know how it works!
@@karensintuitivejewelry ok lovely, I will test and let you know. ☺️☺️
These are the stamps I bought and they melted.
