You are so generous with tips and tricks. I appreciate your thoroughness immensely. You're saving me a ton of time and money by better understanding the do's and dont's.
Thank you so much! I’m so happy to get feedback on my tutorials, it’s so important to hear what’s working & even what’s not working so Thank You! I appreciate your interest & support! 🙏😊💙💚💜
Karen you’re so experienced and got all proper tools. I’m still having to get sheet metal torch stamping etc…. It’s never ending isn’t it. This love of craft so bloody expensive. We all could drive a Mercedes with the money lol 😂
Thx so much gf! I had a lovely week of celebrating! I used to celebrate the entire month of April in my younger days! 🤣🤪😂 I like how these rings turned out especially using the larger stones because the ring turns on the finger because of the weight but these can be adjusted snuggly to prevent that! Hope all is well with you & the gang! 🙏😊💖
Karen glad you had a great Birthday 🎂. These rings are a cool design. ❤❤ You make it look so easy.. I am going to try this style ring. Thank you Karen for all your help.🩷💕💜
Thank you very much! I had a lovely week of celebrating! I used to celebrate the entire month of April in my younger days! 🤣🤪😂 I really like how these turned out & love the adjustable feature because when using a large heavy focal stone then always turn on your finger but with this design you can adjust them to fit snuggly so that doesn’t happen! Share pictures with me when you give it a go! I trust you’re healing up well! 🙏😊💖
Loved how you made the rings; I'm going to try using a couple of the stones I won from you and try doing your design. I've been putting it off until I felt good enough to use them. They are too valuable to mess up. Thank you for your thorough instructions. Loved the design..
Karen, I love this adjustable design!! 😍🎉 These turned out so pretty too. I think flattening the back loop really makes a big difference. Awesome job on these!
Thx so much! They’re a little challenging getting the shank just right but absolutely doable! I appreciate your feedback & continued support my friend! 🙏😊💖
Thanks Karen! What perfect timing! I just soldered a whole bunch of ceramic pieces today for pendants, bracelets and a couple for rings. Just waiting for my mandrel to arrive and I can get to 'em!
Awesome! I’d love to see what you create if you’d like to share some pics! You can find me on FB, IG & their messenger apps! I appreciate your support! 🙏😊💖
I have a tumbled, kyanite, rectangular shaped piece that I would love to turn into a ring. I should probably practice w/a rock or something before I try it w/the kyanite 🤔. Love this technique, thanks for sharing. 💜🤓
I would definitely practice a couple times before using your intended stone! I’d love to see what you create if you’d like to share a picture on messenger! Thx so much for your interest & support! 🙏😊💙💜💚
Hi Karen. Great tutorial as usual. Thank you. With regards to using the tinned copper wire as ring bases. Have you found if they tarnish or not please.
Thx very much! Every metal tarnishes eventually especially inexpensive metals such as our beloved soft solder & mixed alloys BUT I have definitely found that the pre-tinned stays brighter for much much longer probably because it’s tinned professionally! Once metals come in contact with any kind of chemicals even body oils & perspiration it starts the natural oxidation process! I’m sure you’re aware of the different sealant products available although those wear off & need frequent reapplication! It’s a struggle for sure, even with sterling silver jewelry! Gold, platinum, stainless (& maybe a couple others) jewelry are the only metals I have found to be resistant to tarnish. 💖
Thx so much! I discuss the supplies I use in the beginning of the video as well as list the items in the Description Box for your convenience! I used a 16 gauge tinned copper wire for these rings! I appreciate your interest & support! 🙏😊💖
Karen, what size copper foil do you generally use for soft soldering (I’m sure it depends largely on the thickness of the cab.) Love watching your videos-I’ve learned a ton! Thanks!♥️
Thank you kindly! Mainly I use the 3/8” with silver backing. I can always cut it to better fit thinner stones & it’s thick enough for larger stones. I’ll trim the backs on most stones for a more pleasant look! I’m thrilled to hear that you find my videos helpful! I’ve been playing with a similar idea. Have you tried positioning the ring wire with the cut ends embedded in solder on the back of the bezel? Most likely just as sturdy, and that’s my biggest concern. I’m going to try it both ways and test drive them. Also, I have a hell of a time making a smooth stone back. Rrrrrr.
Yes I have experimented with just about every possible way of making a ring 🤣 I think 🤪 When using your suggested technique I use a larger gauge wire or even flat aluminum ring blanks because then you can at least have more “surface area” to solder down for security!
@@karensintuitivejewelry Yes, I like the idea of flattening the wire. Never thought of that. Isn’t it odd that this one cravat where there aren’t any experts guiding the way? I’ve been doing it for 15 yrs and the books I’ve bought are very basic. I want to learn to add wire like the Czech girls! Back to the rings: I bought copper ring blanks that would have been fantastic if I could have figured a way to neatly solder them. Not sure why, possibly loss of heat, but I can’t seem to evenly cover them with solder. I’m going to try my big torch soon. My “intuition” tells me it will work better than an iron!

Great rings, was wondering what type wire are you using for ring band? Thank you Cheryl

Karen, hello! Please tell me, at what temperature of the soldering iron do you work?
I work at just under 700 F adjusting up or down slightly depending on what I’m trying to accomplish! I appreciate your interest & support! 🙏😊💖

Why did you leave an opening on the two bigger ones? On the bottom
These were made exactly the same way soo I’m not sure what you’re asking? Maybe you should rewatch the video
Hola! es alambre de alpaca o con cuál puedo hacerlo? Gracias
Hi there! What is alpaca wire? No idea so I’m unable to help!
I might have missed it but what wire (metal) are you using?
