Dear Bonnie, Hello from France! I just wanted to thank you for all those wonderful patterns you share with us. My grand-mother taught me how to crochet and she was in competition with my grand-aunt (her older sister) who was trying to teach me knitting !! I have to say I prefer crochetting and I really love the movement of the hand and the crochet together. It gives me a sense of serenity and though an energy and a sense of joy I don't find in knitting. Many many thanks again and God bless you.
That's so wonderful! So very glad that these videos are helpful to you.
When crocheting in the round you are not crochet rows back and forth, but going around either in a circle or oval, as when using a base chain for your foundation.
Hi Bonnie, I'm new at crocheting and I love your work and video's. Im trying to make a hat that I really love. The problem is the pattern for the hat is to small for me. It's for a 19 inch and my circumference is 21 inch. I can do the stitches and I can follow the pattern but I can't understand how to increase it to my size. I've attached a link hoping that you would please help me.

Thank you in advance.
Dear Kelly,
You can always bump up the crochet hook size to one size bigger and see whether this will do the trick. Be sure to check your gauge before doing this though. Depending on your crocheting style, you may not even have to do this! If you make gauge, just use a larger hook. If your crocheting is already larger, you may be fine. Be prepared to play with this in order to get it right (i.e., you may have to ripe it out a time or two), but it is worth the time to get it right!

Thank you Bonnie. I have a pattern of some baby item that requires Celtic weave in the round. I had a trouble with it so I just had to put it aside for months... Now, using your tutorial, I will come back to this pattern. I wonder why I didn't find your pattern before. Thank you for the tutorial!
Polina R. Dear Polina,
Glad you found it too! Some other folks have jumped onto the bandwagon for this stitch (my daughter inspired me to develop this stitch back in 2008 for a pattern included in my Aran Afghans leaflet w/Leisure Arts) and often their videos are the top hits. Welcome to the Bonnie Bay Crochet channel! Would love to see your project when completed!
Blessings,

Thank you very much Bonnie! :)
I have your book Aran Afghans to Crochet. I'm trying to learn the Celtic Weave but not in rounds. Wish me luck! Love the designs in the book by the way! :)
There is another video on the Celtic Weave on this channel that is not in the round...ua-cam.com/video/jQV1aLrg588/v-deo.html

Wow! Thanks!
I am left-handed, I love the celtic weave. However, I am struggling. I am a visual learner. Do yu have a left-handed version.
I have almost everything in both right and left-handed John. Here you go: ua-cam.com/video/5V47CXZTuGo/v-deo.html
Hi Bonnie. Will you please consider doing a tutorial for the 'Irish Emeralds Cape'?
Thank you for the suggestion Anmar! I can certainly add this to the video list for the future.
@@BonnieBayCrochet That would be much appreciated 😁
Can you please tell me how many stitches are needed in the foundation chain when working Celtic Weave in rounds - that is multiples of 4 plus how many extra?
+Vera Daroga - When working in the round, it is a simple multiple of 4, as long as you work the first stitch in the same place as joining your chain. I don't count the turning chain in this count.

+BonnieBayCrochet Thanks a lot, Bonnie. This was helpful. Thanks a lot for your video tutorials. I enjoy learning from them. You explain well and make the complicated patterns easy to follow. Thanks!
What does in the round mean?
How do you start the first rows? You start the video a few rows in already.
These rows are just there to represent some crocheted fabric to work in. You can work this stitch in any multiple of 4 + 2, and works well when worked into rows of single crochets or double crochets.
