This is a good point. But it is the same for every other Jedi as well, although they don't go slaughtering nomads and other stuff, that's yet to come. There's a reason why the council initially refused to let Qui-Gon take Anakin as his Padawan. He had already a bag of tricky emotions then. And pride was already pretty dominant, as a child boasting about his racing skills and now whining about Obi-Wan holding him back while also boasting how he'll be the most powerful Jedi ever.
So yeah, he had repressed emotions, tons of them...that's why he never should've been trained in the first place. Just saying.

Watching the series first is easily the best way to go, it can enhance the suspense and adds far more emotional resonance because the two things the show does most, is expand on the Jedi Characters and the Clones, so it only enhances order 66, and the arcs that hint towards it will only build suspense, it doesnt spoil order 66 it just foreshadows it, rather than having it come out of left field.

The way I usually think of it as well is that it can be actually physically taxing to use the force especially to fight someone. It was said in the original trilogy that coming to use the force is like coming to see for the first time and that the force is an extension of one's own body. Yes, Qui Gon had said to Shmi that seeing things is a natural Jedi trick but I always imagined day to day and the subconscious use of the force to channeling it toward something like a fight to be the difference between walking around you house on a day off and playing a competitive sport. yes you're use the same senses and means to do the same task but one is almost effortless and unconscious vs the other being incredibly physically demanding and exhausting. I've also always thought of this as being part of the reason meditation is such a big thing for the Jedi because it's a form of rest for the mind and emotions like sleep is a form of rest for the body.

That is a good catch one of the more subtle explanations going on. That said, even without the force, I've seen similar examples. My grandfather walked slowly and carefully, with a bit of a shuffle. But he was also a ballroom dancer. You put on a good waltz, and suddenly he was a tornado on the dance floor, gracefully soaring from one end to the other leading a partner often many years younger. 5 minutes later, he was shuffling back to his seat and I am sure he paid for it the next day. But for a few minutes he was a young man again giving it his all.

The reason Anakin was able to do that "jump out of a flying car and try to predict an assassin were chasing will pull out under me so i can land on their car and end the chase" trick (other than for the sake of plot) is because his high midichlorian count allows him glimpses of the possible outcomes of actions he is deciding to take, so canonically he likely saw himself jumping and then landing safely on the assassins car before he took the leap.

He went from having nothing to suddenly being able to have everything but being told he shouldn’t want that because it’s not the Jedi way. It just shows what is fundamentally wrong with the Jedi order that they can’t recognize the error in their own thinking and that the rigidity of their own rules is a problem. Don't forget they were winning battles and Windu bested Sidious in combat. Sidious was bailed out by a split-second decision that could have gone either way.
The best plan the Sith ever had to beat the Jedi took generations of planning and then came down to a coin toss.
2: A thousand years before episode one the jedi and sith fought wars. Before the rule of two, when the sith were plentiful and had a council of their own. So, I'm not sure what "old teachings" you're referring too?

Next: Animated series "The Clone Wars." You don't have to do the entire 7 series, but some episodes are key. S1E3 and 4 are a good intro to Anakin's padawan Ahsoka Tano, the Clone Army, Count Douku, the Droid Army, and how Palpatine manipulates it all. Also fleshes out important Jedi characters. S1Ep5 introduces Clone Commanders Rex and Cody. S2Ep21 R2 Come Home - about Boba Fett, and closeness of R2D2 and Anakin. S3Ep2 Arc Troopers - Captains Rex, Cody, and clones Echo and Fives. S3Ep15-17 the Mortis Gods and Anakin's Destiny to become Darth Vader. S4Ep10 - the dark side of the Force emerges within the Jedi. S4Ep22 - the return of Darth Maul. S5Ep16 Darth Maul exacts revenge on Obi-Wan. S5Ep20 Ahsoka leaves the Jedi order. S6Ep 1-4 the secret purpose of the Clones. S6Ep13 Yoda sees the future. S7 Ep1-4 introduces the Bad Batch S7Ep9-12 the tragedy of Order 66.
Clone Wars was produced for kids but as the series developed, it created memorable characters of depth and complexity.
After Clone Wars, the tragedy of Order 66 in the third movie will have greater impact. Anakin's downfall be an even greater loss than before.
Next is the film Rogue One. Then is the Bad Batch, then Rebels --both animated -- then the Mandalorian seasons 1 & 2, Boba Fett, the third season of the Mandalorian, and finally Ahsoka.

the rebel-verse - *rogue one, andor* (high quality stuff, beginnings of the oh so fantastic rebellion you are first introduced to in the classic 1977 movie, no jedi which is really fresh and intriguing)

But it is a lot to watch and I am not sure how would it do for the channel audience, however if was not for the channel I would STRONGLY encourage to watch Clone Wars before Episode IV until Season 7 Episode 09 and watch Episode IV - Revenge of the Sith and then finish the Animated Series.

Way back when, I saw this movie opening night. It was a packed theater (different, wonderful times). We were all watching along. Bored to tears with Anakin and Padme (wandering in her bdsm leather get up) and it was the scene where they are in the "villa" by the fire side and it gets all quiet since Anakin is really going at the angst he is going through... and some guy screams out at the top of his lungs, "STICK IT IN HER BUTT" the entire audience went hysterical. Greatest Star Wars movie ever with zero point zero thanks to Star Wars.

There are 2 reasons behind Mace Windu's purple blade first it is Samual L Jackson's favorite color and he requested it. The second reason is because Mace Windu would fall into the fan made category of a grey Jedi. He was one that used both the light and dark sides at times while not being totally overcome by the darkness. Put the most often used blade color used by the Jedi blue with the Sith red and the color turns into purple showing the character of Mace Windu.
The color of the blade was created based on a force users connection to the living force and how they acted during the creation of the blade. To get the color red a Sith or dark Jedi would pour all their own pain and anger into the kyber crystal causing it to bleed and turn red. A white blade was created when a red crystal was healed like the blades used by Ashoka which she took from an inquisitors dual bladed hilt after she had killed the inquisitor.

Trying to watch things in chronological order can be tricky, you might miss references made in a show that happens early, but it's referencing something that came out in material before that. 45:47 That's because of his age,he's well over 800 years old and is still saddled with the weaknesses that come with advanced age just like everyone else, he's able to move like that because his connection to the force is so great and was basically using an amped version of force augmentation known as force valour, for his lightsaber form he took Ataru or form 4 to its highest degree to compensate for his short stature and limited reach but does have complete mastery over every form of lightsaber combat, even the highly unpredictable and aggressive form 7 or Juyo, but because form 4 is such an aggressive and acrobatic style nobody can maintain it for very long, even Yoda for as powerful as he is after just minutes of using that style against Dooku he would be left absolutely exhausted as you could see when Yoda strolled off using his cane, this form is what Qui Gon Jinn and Obi Wan Kenobi used against Maul in TPM and Qui Gon,interestingly used Ataru and tempered it with elements of Makashi and made it more strength based to compensate for his advanced age,Obi Wan on the other hand, chose to start specialising in form 3 Soresu after discovering the inherent weaknesses of form 4,that being ineffective in inclosed spaces, its lack of defence and the amount of effort and energy it consumes,oh and after witnessing Qui Gon's death

Either way I hope you do reaction videos to the series because it is fantastic. Something to consider: if you're going to watch the Clone Wars TV series (which I recommend as the creator Dave Filoni is a genius), you might want to watch the 2D 2003 Clone Wars miniseries first. It introduces the major players in the TV show and Episode 3 as well as bridges the details between episodes 2 and 3 that aren't mentioned in the show. It also has (what I consider) the best villain introduction sequence in animated history.

Let's not forget most of these movies were green screen in an early time for CGI, on top of the other production issues. You have to admit that having all that power in the force and all of the abilities that come with it that it would be a natural feeling to be disappointed that you couldn't stop somebody from dying. It's a common theme in movies... like Superman 1 with Christopher Reeve. He says, "All these powers... and I couldn't save her." But then, he somehow makes the world go backwards to reverse time and does save her (which is nonsense, but hey... it's a movie). The mother scene does a couple of things. It foreshadows Anakin's journey to the dark side, it shows how he leaves his mission to address a vision (like Luke in Empire), it gives him one last moment with his mother (likely also giving his mother some peace at the moment of her death and end of captivity), and most importantly it plants the seed to losing somebody to death that he cannot save. It creates an internal PTSD.

So a bit of background from the wider canon regarding the Jedi not sensing the dark side growing. There used to be a Sith shrine and the Jedi in their hubris built their temple on top of it, thinking that it would help purify the area. But with the Sith surviving in secret, it meant that the dark side was seeping out from the remains and helping to cloud their vision

48:05 first time watching, always go with release order. Watch Episode III, then see if you feel like checking out Clone Wars, but release order is always my suggestion because everything is based on what was released before. Imagine being introduced to 3PO in Episode I, chronologically the start of the story. He would not be “Goldman,” he’d be British Wire Dude, and you’d have no context why him meeting R2 is significant. Watch stuff in the order it was released, it’s the best way to approximate how we all saw it the first time.
Glad you’re enjoying the ride, buckle up for Revenge of the Sith, yo.

  • @Knight-Bishop

It's probably been explained already, but yes, the Jedi can "force jump" and also make themselves briefly run faster (only really seen in the beginning of Phantom Menace when Qui-gon and Obi-wan flee from the tripod droids that roll up and have their own energy shield. But the jump is not actually new, Luke does it in Empire Strikes back, when Darth Vader knocks him into the freezing chamber they used on Han. It's how he suddenly ends up in the wires and tubing up above it, you can see him do it in the background when Vader turns and activates the chamber. And I say all of this because it's directly related to how Yoda has those moves but then walks slowly with a cane. He has gotten so tuned to the force over his ~900 years that the he is sort of able to lift and flip himself around by channeling the force through him. The reason why Dooku drops that pillar at Obi-wan and Anakin is because he realizes he still can't win, but knows that Yoda can't really move himself around with the force at the same time as having to save them. And for people asking why he doesn't just use the force to move his lightsaber like a puppeteer... Same problem, and not much of a difference. Plus, potential that the Jedi predictive reflexes involved might not be as sharp while controlling an object at a distance, rather than feeling it in hand. Plus... Well, it's Star Wars, Lucas just made these choices. Lol
