I was always taught to start rolling in the center of the tape run and if needed pull it one way or the other with the roller
Thanks for the tips Doc! I think that I'm in the same boat with my helper not magically knowing how to roll the corners out as well...
Thanks for the tips going to try them out tomorrow
Like I've said before I don't finish everyday but I am doing it a few times a month. Wish I had someone with your knowledge to work under..✌
Hi Doc. After glazing on that project, did you clean-up what was needed by hand with a long handled broad knife? How much would you leave to dry and knock-off later before mudrunner? Thanks. Keep Doing Great!
Thanks for sharing knowledge
Thxs another good vid.I miss running Bazooka with my old boss.Need to keep watching these videos so i remember. .😂
If there was a University of Drywall thus gentleman would be the DEAN. LOVE THE VIDEO 💥 Great advice.
True professional.
I was definitely doing it wrong lol thanks for the tips
i like your videos..thank you very much for doing it..
What do charge per foot for just taping or do just charge per room taper jack ny
Do you not glaze with the mudrunner any more?
is glazing the same thing as running a flusher and what size do you use 2" ? are you applying more compound over the tape or are you just smoothing out the tape after the roller
also i have seen flushers with a nylon wheel would that do the job of the roller and flusher at once ?
I love watching you work cause i know your Pro.
As a framer boarder guy i only leave perfect for our tapers.
What I'd really like to see is just you, doing your thing for 5 minutes without talking or explaining anything, just working away.
In 5 minutes im sure you would do what an average taper with a ladder and hand tools could do in a couple hours, i kid you not, sad but true.
Your Awesome Dr.
Push in on taper and that almost pretty much stops the dragging
The Columbia taper really don’t drag tape but if there dirty and all shit up they all drag tape like crazy
😂😂 I always start in the middle make sure it doesnt move
A few people have asked me... What's quicker , the bazooka or mudbox?
Maxkil bazooka
U re the boss with a bazooka. It's more easy to watch than to use. Like the skateboard. I practice with the bazooka but the corner (au plafond) is to hard for me.
I find that if you don't have your Mudd wet enough it will pull the tape a little and if the rock job isn't that great from the wall to the cieling if there is a large gap like 1/2 to 3/4 your crimper wheel falls into the gap with the tape and pulls also. Love the video's doc
You're totally right about why it pulls.
Agreed, mud too thick will cause it to drag. Too much pressure with the creasing wheel will drag the tape. Practice practice practice.
Mud to heavy can also cause the roller to grab the tape at the three ways.
Another tip is to use 250’ rolls until you get it down. If you have small closets to run angles in, try burning off some of the roll elsewhere, then jump in the closets.
God I admire this guy a lot.
Starting to think I might not be right-handed after watching this lol. I go counter clockwise and hold bottom of gun with right hand
I roll the crap out of my angles. I want that tape set! When I glaze, I shouldn’t see tape. If I do It tells me there’s something wrong there that needs addressed.
How much bazooka and pump cost to buy?
if i skim coat drywall, is ok to see the drywall underneath after it dries? or should be on thick enough so no drywall shows?
The Drywall Doctor
I'm not sure how this relates to skimming an entire wall.. But thanks anyway.
Doc what do you think about flushers? Not the angle heads but the angle flushers.

This is all my experience so far
Can we use durabond in california to fill the gabs, or only in midwest and east coast bc of the weather?
Yes you can use dura Bond anywhere in any climate it will set up in a bucket of water
Just blew my Mind! Haha thanks for the video! I've been rolling angles the wrong way for a year now! Not any longer thanks to you!
After you glaze and let it dry do you just do a final with the mudrunner 3.5 inch ?
Boss I've seen this method but I also saw you use the actual MudRunner to glaze the angles, am I right? Did you roll the corners in first though ? I have the MudRunner now.
@@THEDRYWALLDOCTOR1 2.5" angle head and extension ? And that's it ? Plus roller of course and when it's time to skim just use the MudRunner with a 3.5 ?
My taper head wheels don't seem to spins super free. Even when I have my brake wide open. I've tried oiling it, but maybe I'm missing a critical spot. Do you have a video or recommendation for improving the taper heads?
I was looking I can't seem to find something but soak it in water sometimes I will put my bazooka in water for an hour or two before I even pull it out to oil it up to start the tape and always make sure it's clean when you're done. Even inside the tube look inside the tube and make sure that's clean because if the stopper is being held back by mud it's going to make it harder to spin the wheel
@@THEDRYWALLDOCTOR1 Are you throwing the bazooka back in to neutral when you place it on your pump? If so, why?
Does the thickness of the mud have tangling to do with drag too?
Yes
thanks for the response
We love you
Sometimes when the tape pulls too much it means your mud is too thick
Same exact damned windows in my house.
Is it worth buying a bazooka, if I only get 2-3 drywall jobs a year?
I wouldn't
I agree
👍
I know I work with professionals
Tape by hands, don't use any machine. I have been doing costume build homes for 33 years.
almost the good way ..there a better way
!;-)
