There’s a reason why reproductive females have to be two times bigger than the other workers so that her large ovary can fit in her abdomen, not because they have to be more big and powerful like that. And if so, then what’s the point of her workers that are way smaller than a Kaiju-sized caste?
The way the Queen nearly toppling over the bus was a reference when the 1998 Godzilla (which Roland Emmerich also directed) when the Monster gets killed by the Fighter Jets and nearly crushing the protagonist in the film in which I found out.
The queen would've served as a final boss in the third film of that giant is only a general. But no, I'm they have to pick the wrong timing. On the other hand, what if a new queen was selected to rule the harvester? That would've cleared up for the third film.
Yeah, no eusocial reproductive caste goes out on suicide missions when they could stay here to nurture their eggs. It would've been cool if Jake and the gang fight off the queen from inside the spacecraft using Harvester's firearms.

Also it the first independence day the spaceship that crash landed back in the 50s in roswell was the same tech as the alien ships that came in the 1990s... that's a 45year time gap vs a 20 year gap. A better explanation is they haven't been able to fully reverse engineer all the alien tech in only 20 years

However, the world would've been a semi-post-apocalyptic landscape where North America, Europe and eastern Asia became mostly a wasteland with civilians in refugee camps and go to anarchy, and major cities weren't rebuilt, and world's governments with reversed engineered alien technology would offer them packages and new homes, while the rest, mostly South America, Africa and Australia, remained stable

They don't look the same. Regular harvesters are much smaller, only slightly larger than humans. The Queen is colossal also has more limbs than the soldier harvesters.

Contrary to what a majority of you think, I actually liked this movie. I'm not a person who thinks squeals are bad, just unique in their own way.
