What an amazing talent you have taming these beautiful camels. You knew that big male was squaring up with you for a challenge to fight. Even with our 3,000 years of domesticated male camels, unless you’re considered to part of herd it’s too dangerous for any stranger to walkin in the herd. Our country Somalia is known to have the most camels in the world. We say camels are life and they’re the standard for our wealth. We have so much love for our camels that we don’t ride them and we don’t call the males bulls and females cows. Those are names for bovine 🐄🐂🐃🦬 and not camels. We call mature camel males Awr and hal or ayro the mature female. Young female is Qaalin and Qurba the young males. As always, your videos are on a league of their own and your camels videos bring lots of joy to us. Keep them coming man. Be safe. Thank you.
I really appreciate this and love the name you give them I knew bulls n cows were not what they deserve I will call them by this now and once again I really appreciate knowledge would love to walk with you people one day so much to learn about camel culture
@@lukecampbelladventures Mr. Campbell, I now live in the United States. I’ve served nearly a decade in the US military to just give back and say thanks to the people of the United States. We have a lot of respect for you and what you do. It takes a lot to do what you have achieved taming wild camels. Lately, with our domesticated camels in Somalia, we have been having mysterious diseases that are killing our beloved camels. We will be honored to be in your company and walk with you.
@@SPharaoh sad about the camel's there we are lucky to have desease free camel's here or near too I have been watching some vids from Somalia with camel's and can see how much they are treasured there and able to get so much milk, we did a bit here but couldn't produce that amount I will travel one day and meet countrymen with camel's and learn more love the whole culture around camels, here was such short lived but still here in parts thank you my friend
Hello, I was here and I very much enjoyed the dialogue. I am from Saudi Arabia and we have a strong relationship with camels and there are different names for them at different ages for males and femail. I like the content and following up on what concerns these beautiful creatures. Please accept my passing and warm regards.
Hi Luke, we met you at Sandy Cape and have now joined your channel. Really enjoy your videos, the photography is really very good and the information is excellent. Keep up the good work and we look forward to your further adventures.
I thought camels couldn't walk backward, but Diamond did it easily... btw, the dark wild bull didn't come for you... if it was just you, or any other human(s) he would take his harem away... he came for the two bulls... but seeing that they don't challenge his dominance [and you being a ''mental barrier'' [it's in their nature to avoid humans...] he moved away, taking his harem to safety... [to him the bulls may be a challenge... but humans are still a threat... I guess that's the first lesson you teach to the captive ones...] nice video... See'ya on the next one!
I use to travel deserts with a bull and he would stir up the groups of bulls without the girls he knew I'd protect him cheeky bigger he was the male groups are like bad gangs and always arrive when the campfire dies out an intense experience to say the least lucky they aren't meat eaters, cheers mate
Hey Luke, I’m a new subscriber to your channel been watching all your previous videos and really enjoying your content working with these great animals. Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks mate been an intense summer but enjoying the job the filming wasn't planned but it's on now so hopefully I can go full-time with it and hit the deserts next year cheers
Always a pleasure to watch and learn about these great animals and your life with them, keep the vids coming Luke, as another person commented we only wish you uploaded more mate 👍
I like your patience, you are not rushing them and giving them some time to figure it out. What I didn't like is that trailer is too small. It is hard them to turn there and go back. I think its time to buy a bigger trailer for you 😊 Something more safe more wide.
G,day Luke, just found you today, didnt realise at first you were a part of community there, ive never herad of Walkabout till now , me n the missus spent 9 months in alice back in the early 2000,s, we spent a great deal of time with Traditional elders, Popsy Lynch from Blacktank, and we stayed with Harold Furber in Alice who was then head of Stolen Generations, there were many more but cant remember their names right now, great channel , Cheers n Stay Well Oz in Canada
Thanks mate walkabout more of a homelands amongst the James ranges south of Alice great spot top country I was around here in 2000 down at Stuart’s well camel farm doing safaris there and hitting the annual camel cup I walked to Broome in 2005 and have just returned to Alice few months ago cheers mate
Another enjoyable and informative video Luke. Likely most of your audience (like me) are completely unfamiliar with camels as we live in countries beyond Australia, therein the fascination with camels and how you are able to work them. Thanks for sharing your wisdom and work putting these videos together. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦!
Thanks mate we have so many wild camel's over here it's a great thing to do getting hot now but I'll get through them and enjoy the cooler months traveling with them can't wait
Good job mate, that's why we call you the Camel Cowboy 😊 Spooky did really well on that trip. You should look into seeing if you can get a license to carry a revolver seeing as you work with wild camels in yards. Your excuse is that big bull camel too. Well done mate 👍
Thanks mate will need a revolver for desert trips next year it's the big gangs of wild bull camel's in rutt they stalk you out there and can kill camel's I'm with had to deal with plenty in past trips, one ton warewolfs of the night,
@@lukecampbelladventures I've heard of that happening. There was some woman who did a solo camel trip and she was told to not hesitate to shoot a bull coming at you. "Tracks" is the name of the video.
I do believe Diamond enjoyed the car ride standing the whole way. And crazy how big and healthy that wild bull was definitely wouldnt want to be on its bad side for sure.
He had a ball out there, I had a bull years ago we travelled by car halfway across Australia he never sat and looked classic with his lips blowing back
So try to catch this camel and see that you can tame it. Also, if you can one day come to Dubai, you will enjoy it and you will see different types of camels, such as racing camels. Try taming young ones because they are easier to deal with and are more obedient if they grow up after they reach one year of age. Teach it, but without riding him, but teach it to sit and walk
Would love to have him mate, and would love to visit Dubai and see an old camel culture,I have been training full grown ones for orders for tourist farms in Australia but certainly the younger ones are easy to train although they are wild they have originated from domestic stock many years ago and quieten quickly cheers mate
