What I’d love to see from Tudor this year: •No-rivet bracelets w/ microadjust for the Black Bay (similar to the Ranger) •In-house movements for the 1926 and BB36 •Reintroduce the Style with colorful dials…this would be the least realistic move but would make a HUGE splash!
One thing Rolex and Tudor have that comes to mind is a relationship with military. Rolex and Tudor have a long history of being used in the military and Omega has a little history with the British navy but no much else. If Omega saw some more time in the field with military, police, Fire , or EMS I feel like it would get more street credit, if that makes sense. The Planet Ocean would be an awesome watch to wear to work
Tread lightly. You might accidentally step on the hearts of Omega fanboy trolls. You also didn't mention the Speedmaster & the 1000 variants of it in endless colors, case materials, dial configurations and limited editions.
Hey, haven't you heard? Omega is James Bond's watch, he was in the military right? It says so on the case back and he specifically disavowed Rolex for Omega in that Casino movie. What's that? He originally wore a Rolex in the novels? Hah, next you'll be telling me that wearing a 007 edition Seamaster doesn't give me a licence to kill.
@@goldencalf5144 Sorry. I only ever saw Sean Connery's James Bond films. The OG and best. What's funny is the latest Seamaster has a MOD broad arrow printed on the dial face. Do you know what that means for a captured spy? It means a death sentence because Bond is advertising that he is a British military operative. The broad arrow designation is fine for a uniformed soldier to be wearing BUT for a spy working in the shadows it's a dead giveaway. You better have a cyanide pill handy in case you get caught alive wearing it. Very amateur mistake for a spy. Like having a tattoo on your arm with Mi6. The other problem with military issued watches is the serial number on the caseback. This has the soldiers unit number and branch of service. For a spy wearing that information on their wrist is giving your personal details away without contest. Like shooting fish in a barrel.

The North Flag was the only watch Tudor have made recently with an ounce of inspiration in it. Time to dust off that designer and get him back to work.
That would be interesting and that’s why it won’t happen. I too like square watch movements. I wish it was more popular than it is. I hear the Rolex Prince is a doctor’s watch.
“I give a fuck”. Everyone hates on Tudor because they focus on the black bay line (and the pelagos to a lesser extent). Yet omega is basically the speedmaster / sea master company and Rolex is the GMT/Sub/Daytona company and no one seems to give them shit for it. Don’t even get me started on AP… Black bays are awesome, get over it.
The Tudor V Rolex argument is an old one and the same as the Corvette V Camero discussion. The Camero is not allowed to out run the Vette and never will.
The P01 was a unique release. If Tudor released a blue submariner with a thinner case (possibly less refined machining) with the Tudor crown used on the P01... Pretty much game over for Omega.
@@vianouche1It must be pointless for you, owning any watch, but I respect people with limited sight participating in this great hobby of ours. Keep at it!
I hope Tudor updates all their watches with the T-Fit clasp, thin in house movements and keeps the prices where they are. If they make their higher end models as thin as their Rolex counterparts and added T-Fit to all of them, then I wouldn’t even consider a Rolex. Nearly the same specs and a better clasp than most of the Rolex models. Also it seems like Tudor ADs are saying the steel Black Bay 32/36/41 are being discounted and replaced by newer models after Watches and Wonders. That’s where Tudor makes their biggest product announcements for the year. Most likely updating the clasp and in house movement.
I totally agree the lines are a mess and the website is a bit confusing. Sometimes I have trouble finding which model I want to check out. I never liked the Glamour Double Date and Style are embarrassing. It's not the market they're trying to cover, it's the design that is the issue. I just realized the Clair De Rose existed. The end link is a bit odd, but think that one has potential for expansion. The Ranger line should have its own range of models - 36mm, GMT, different color & date variants. I get the design/spec basics that let them lump the Black Bays all together, but it's a bit too much. I want/hope to see the steel Black Bay non-diver line with the silver/blue/black dials get the same refresh as the S&G release last year - more Oyster style cases Michael mentioned, the Kenissi movements, T-fit, and add in a 39mm variant. Honestly, I'd rename the whole line even with the same looks. The Pelagos 39 in blue is a no brainer, and it may be a shut up and take my money moment for me. A Pelagos GMT would be a wildcard, but it might be tricky to do well. They need to expand T-fit across the Black Bay line. All models, period. The 41mm Black Bay diver needs a revamp - thinner and maybe a new colorway. I'm would not be excited by more material options at this point. The Royal line isn't terrible, but not at all my style. Maybe it works for some, but I'd be curious to see sales numbers. They shouldn't make it like a PRX, but it needs to be reworked. The 1926 line isn't bad. It serves its purpose and has classic looks.
A tudor Milgauss....at 14.5mm thick!! How about a full blacked out (ala the one watch ceramic) , ceramic black bay gmt, with the pro yellow second time scale hand on a leather strap?
I want modern Tudor prince with inhouse movement. I own and love black bay diver, it's unbeatable watch for that price point considering what you get but I hate the datejust version with diver dial. It's totally ridiculous.

I’m too concerned with the build quality of Tudor to break and buy one. It seems like just after all the watch channels started singing their praises, tons of videos about defective/broken Tudors showed up all over my feed. Several of the Tudor owners said that dealing with Tudor to get repairs done made them decide that it’s not worth it. I’ve never even held one before.

I purchased a steel Tudor Date Day at an antiques fair 4 years ago for $700. Was about to sell it & realised it's now gone up 300 percent! The vintage Tudor Subs use to cost less than $5000. They now cost as much as a Rolex Sub at MSRP
I think it’s halcyon days with Tudor. My favourite watch brand: legit Rolex associated, legit pedigree of their own, Rolex have sunk under sheer weight of their own dealers bullcrap, and IF, Tudor ever launched an updated Submariner, I 100% guarantee you it would obliterate the watch market overnight. With Tudor you are getting Rolex build quality, themed from yesteryear, good availability for under half the price of a Rolex you can’t get at retail, and a third of the cost of a grey market Rolex: the ONLY price you pay is the Tudor HAS to be de-refined a bit: thicker. No easy clasp adjustment: because if it had all the finesse of its Rolex equivalent, a chunk of those trying for Rolex would bail out & go Tudor, so it has to be a less aesthetically pleasing product to protect Rolex.
and yet BB58 tends to be one of the most flipped watches... lots of hype but for many not a keeper. Quite boring and same-same... in fairness though Rolex presumably keep them on a tight leash. Unlike the old days.

@@oysterman962 "Though it may be clear that the Speedmaster is not suitable for diving purposes, what is often not so clear is that you can indeed take your new Speedmaster for a swim. Even the Speedmaster Professional “Moonwatch”, with a water resistance of 50 meters, can be used in the water. But just take note that you shouldn’t operate the pushers or crown underwater. We’ve checked this officially with Omega, and the brand also let us know that the watches are tested for water resistance with a substantial margin (+25%)."
Something tells me that Rolex limits just how innovative they can be or how far they can deviate from designs.
Love the ED White speedy. But when I when to the omega boutique they basically told me f-off😂😂😂
I have the Tudor Chrono Panda, I love it, but I wish they would slim it down a bit and make it in 40mm diameter and if Rolex allowed them to change the aluminium bezel to a ceramic.
Hang on. The "cool older brother" is Rolex? The company which last did something interesting when the Milgauss was released....in 1956? By the way, Michael, if you're looking for a 'better sized' Speedmaster, check out the 3212.80.00 which is 40mm, nearly the same as the Ed White which is 39.7mm. I bought my unworn version for under $3k, compared to over $20k which a used Ed White would cost on the secondary market.
What I’d love to see from Tudor this year:
•No-rivet bracelets w/ microadjust for the Black Bay (similar to the Ranger)
•In-house movements for the 1926 and BB36
•Reintroduce the Style with colorful dials…this would be the least realistic move but would make a HUGE splash!
They need to bring back the sub with METAS and T fit. with a ceramic bezel.
Most annoying watch discussion ever. Nothing interesting, just frat boy db comments.

Because it isn’t. Overpriced ETA calibre in a boring case. You can get the same for less than a third of the price if you buy a Tissot “Le Locle”
I owned one, felt cheap, especially at that price. Glad I was able to return it.
This watch skit deserves so much more views it is so much better than all the watch content on UA-cam, Michael and Christian are truly underrated and deserve more recognition (yes even Christian).
The North Flag was the only watch Tudor have made recently with an ounce of inspiration in it. Time to dust off that designer and get him back to work.
A Tudor rectangle dress watch like the retired Rolex Cellini prince?
That would be interesting and that’s why it won’t happen. I too like square watch movements. I wish it was more popular than it is. I hear the Rolex Prince is a doctor’s watch.
“I give a fuck”.
Everyone hates on Tudor because they focus on the black bay line (and the pelagos to a lesser extent).
Yet omega is basically the speedmaster / sea master company and Rolex is the GMT/Sub/Daytona company and no one seems to give them shit for it. Don’t even get me started on AP…
Black bays are awesome, get over it.
The Tudor V Rolex argument is an old one and the same as the Corvette V Camero discussion. The Camero is not allowed to out run the Vette and never will.
Very true. But M and C are Prius guys…

I just wish n’est year they release the latest BB54 in full bronze 😍.
They dare to do what Rolex will not. That’s where it ends
Imagine if Tudor had a case similar to a Lorier Neptune with those edges instead of slab sides.
The P01 was a unique release. If Tudor released a blue submariner with a thinner case (possibly less refined machining) with the Tudor crown used on the P01...
Pretty much game over for Omega.

The Tudor Pepsi GMT on a leather band is a phenomenal watch!!
I believe the Opaline/Albino is there most beautiful 😍 releases. Interestingly that there is no similar dial in Rolex.

In Tudors defence, what has Rolex done in the last 8-10 yrs? It’s the most boring brand.
A tudor Milgauss....at 14.5mm thick!! How about a full blacked out (ala the one watch ceramic) , ceramic black bay gmt, with the pro yellow second time scale hand on a leather strap?
Tudor once produced a model called Submariner. Are they still able to use that model name? I’d bet they’d sell quite a few.
I want modern Tudor prince with inhouse movement. I own and love black bay diver, it's unbeatable watch for that price point considering what you get but I hate the datejust version with diver dial. It's totally ridiculous.

It's the B01 movement and Tudor do modify it I think, but can't remember how right now. The Tudor is a total bargain.

@@MattyVice I couldn't possibly speculate on values, but I would say that the Tudor is a fabulously solid watch with a great movement and it stands out by only having the two sub dials instead of the three that everyone else uses. There have been shortages in various markets so popularity is confirmed . I looked up the modifications and Tudor fit a free sprung balance and change the minute counter up to 45 from 30. The Panda is a great looking watch and I'm sure you won't regret it, but definitely try it on first as it's a bit of a chunky boy.

They should make a black bay 58 in 36mm, i.e. with dive bezel.

No easy clasp adjustment: because if it had all the finesse of its Rolex equivalent, a chunk of those trying for Rolex would bail out & go Tudor, so it has to be a less aesthetically pleasing product to protect Rolex.
well the speedy has 5bar and the daytona 10bar right? For me 5bar watches are just impossible!
You say “I love tudor, but let me take a dump on it.”!😂 Tudor has been stealing the spotlight for many watch buyers…just sayin…
