Hey Ashley! I’m watching your amazing plant channel from Toronto Canada!!!! I Love your videos and I and sure I always will!!! This is the first time I’ve heard you mention your husband!!! I can’t watch anymore because my eyes are full of tears!!!Take care you wonderful woman
I just found your channel and I just wanted to tell you I am so happy with your style of video. I'm very new in my crazy plant lady journey and really appreciate you calling everything by name as you go through and point them out. Thank you for a great video 😁
That Philodendron Micans plant for 4.99 is for sure a steal!❤❤❤ I got a much smaller one for €3.99. I hope mine will grow and become lush and full soon.
I live in North Carolina, and found a 8in huge hanging basket of Philodendron Micans at Food Lion!!!! In the little plant section in the produce section. I was so surprised 😂
Randy, I've also found some really good plant bargains at Food Lion as well! I picked up a beautiful, bushy 8" Philodendron Brazil and an equally gorgeous Neon Pothos, both in hanging baskets, last spring for $11.95 each. Food Lion gets its plants from Consolidated Nurseries in Miami. Ashley, if you're ever in a Food Lion near you, check out their small plant section. You may make an unexpected find there! 😊👍
You are my favorite plant lady! No irritating nervous laugh, and you don’t label plants as boring or ugly just because you already have them or don’t like them. Also thank you for not using sailor language, a beautiful lady.
I recently lost my younger brother and it has been devastating for me but, the plants have save me from depression. Those sad days I keep myself busy with my garden and my indoor plants. Plants are the best companion and cure. I love your videos and plants 😊
Just starting on my house plant adventure so appreciate you're naming the plants. Only lately beginning to like variegated plants (indoors and outdoors) so I would have purchased the variegated (marble) peperomia.
After watching a number of videos like this, I have to say that the "big box stores" where I live in So. Cal do not have the same level of selections and availability in indoor plants. They are one fourth the size that you and other's have shown in other parts of the country and if you want to find any of the rarer species and varieties... good luck. Be prepared to pay exorbitant prices elsewhere or not find them at all. Many out of state nurseries/sellers will not ship to Cali because of our regulations, so you have to find someone locally.
Wow!! Is that why we don't get the great variety other states get?? I've wondered about that. I, too, am from Southern Cali and I agree with you in our selections out here 😕
I am in York County SC, there is really a difference! Time to head back to my big boxes in S. Charlotte for the better selections. My favorite all time random find was a geogenanthus in a Rock Hill Walmart last summer. Great channel "neighbor"
I bought one of those exact same micans at a lowes here in Arizona! I've never seen one before and loved the velvety leaves. I actually bought a Pink Princess Philodendron also! (I think it was the same kind you showed off in your one of your previous videos) But I found it at walmart. $25 for a plant that I've seen single unrooted nodes of go for double that seemed like a steal. I just hope I can keep it alive and healthy. We bought a gallon planter of elephant bush about a year or two ago and that thing has grown massive in our yard. Full sun in the desert of Arizona and it's doing great.
I'm green with envy at all the raven ZZs in your area. I was surprised to find a P. brandtianum and a H. selby at my Lowes though, so there's some hope. I definitely see taking care of plants as a form of therapy, it's helped me get through grad school and it's how I wind down my day after work.
Awww I want to go shopping over there, I'm watching from New Zealand crying my salty years 😭😂 we have nothing like that range over here. I feel like we're years behind you guys when it comes to houseplants! Please tell me you got that ponytail palm?!? 💚
My neighbor gave me two cuttings of her elephant bush 3 years ago. I completely ignored them after potting them up and left them in a shady but bright spot outside. They are now very large and thriving. They hardly ever get watered. I’ve had them in shade and sunny spots over the years. Nothing fazes them. I’m in Florida so maybe they like humidity.
Elephant bush is great! I got one at the grocery store and it grew so much that I propagated it and have now 12 plants! And they keep on giving, I constantly give out cuttings to people! As long as they have sun or good light, they will thrive.
Thanks for the video. The other day I was at HD and I saw the most impressive neon photos. It is was so gorgeous it almost looked like it glow in the dark. I regret not buying it because it is gone, and it’s been living rent free on my mind since then. 😂😢
The Lowe's has their music way too loud😮 alot of businesses do it now, like it's happy hour or something, lol😉💚🌱 Wow you're making me want to go plant shopping🤗🌱💚
New subscriber here and loving the content! I used to work at Lowes in the Outside lawn and garden and it started my plant fascination, thank you for the video, looking forward to more.
That was such a cute ponytail palm in the blue pot. Do you ever come across Philodendron Atom or Super Atom? It might be a good fit for me. Would like to see what they 'really' look like in stores 😉 Thanks for all the fun videos.
I went to Walmart and Lowes last week and had so much luck! At Walmart I was able to find a begonia maculata that was HUGE! And at Lowe’s I found a Philodendron brandtianum. I’m in CA and we never get plants like this!
I live in northern cali and I never see all the plants that she sees. I did find 2 pink lady philadendron at Walmart and of course they looked bad but I got them anyway. Later seeing I could have got a better condition plant on etsy. I have not given up hope that the plants in her area will eventually make its way to ours but I'm sure will cost more.
@@4bnfree hey! I’m in Northern California too! I went to another Walmart yesterday and they had more of the trending tropicals plants as well. I know it’s not everything that she always has in her videos, but hopefully we get more soon!
@@alexandriaannealcantara2093 I use to buy a lot of plants from offer up in sac. Now the plant has to be worth the gas and the time. I have not tried the superwalmart in Dixon or Davis yet but I might make a field trip
Beautiful plants. Can't wait to get my hands on some of them. Is it just me or do others like to buy the little plants, nurture them and watch them grow?
Just this week, I found an Alocasia pink dragon at Walmart and a huge Alocasia sarian at Home Depot. I can't believe it...our big box stores here in northeast Ohio normally have dismal selections this time of year! And they were inexpensive, both under $20!
You have to treat elephant bush (portaligaria afra) like a succulent. They grow in Africa and elephants eat them. They are easy and beautiful. You can even put the leaves in your salad if you grow them in clean soil so you know that no toxic stuff is in the medium. Like grow them in organic vegetable soil. They are citrus like taste.
Hi! The elephant bush in the hanging baskets do well outside. I have a hard time with them in my house, but outside, they are thriving and growing like crazy. Even in full sun here in Arizona!
I love when you go to the big box shops. I could just watch you all day. Definitely want the monstera albo. Not sure if my Walmart has them. You bring us joy!
Ok Ash I’m with you on the elephant bush and I have been collecting house plants for 20 years, I don’t kill it but it drops leaves like crazy, and I just can’t handle that nonsense 😂
I re-categorized my plants and the amount of times I types "Toxic to pets" baffles me. Sure, my hanging plants I knew the pothos and philodendron weren't good, but majority of my indoor plants are and my cat is obsessed with sniffing them. I think he's learned, and I have a dog x-pen blocking them off, but I might need to rehome some...
I'm with you on the elephant bush. I had one that looked like a little tree. It was so cute. But i could *never* figure out what it wanted. More water? Less water? What do you want? I gave it to my mom. I'm not even sure if she still has it. Oh, in those little 2" succulents I have found very small sansevieria boncels (starfish sans). I'm always looking for them now.
Hi! I’m a new subscriber. Love your channel! I’m going to be binge watching!😄 Question... my mom is allergic to plant soil. Could you do a video on the plants that would grow well in water? And which ones I could buy and take them out of the soil and transfer to water? Thanks!😊

I'm watching from the midwest and it's kind of frustrating because the big box stores here have a tiny fraction of what is in your stores.
Yes this is true for me in Texas too!
Me too 😔 I hope these box stores get more exciting plants in soon here in the Midwest!
Same in Oregon and usually all dying due to kept near cold drafty doors.
