This is my dream car too. Didn't want to stop driving it the one chance I had. Hopefully one day I can try out the AWD version and see how it compares. I still think I'd prefer the RWD version, wish they hadn't gotten rid of it.
+subaruwrxfan The AWD was spectacular. I had all the assists on, but even still it was a little twitchy if you matted it in the corners. It would certainly slide with TC/ESC off. The AWD just had such brutal acceleration from a stop.
Engineering Explained thanks! I got to drive one and immediately fell in love with it. I had a smile plastered on my face, just like you, the entire time. I don't think I've ever had a car excite me in such a way; it's an unreal machine.
I spun out in an older f type I think a 2014. I used to work at a used car dealership, I had driven other jaguars there before. Well when I got in I was messing around with the different drive modes and put it in sport or track, and when I stepped on the gas the thing just turned sideways on me.
Nice review ! Funny in comparison to other video reviews you were to "blown away" with the lack of technical review and commentary. Car burbles a lot and has a nice sound for a Jag, just had the opportunity to drive a friends car with similar package brakes.
I’m now for one looking as well, watched a bunch of reviews and they all respond the same way when you punch it, crazy laughter. Love the aggressive sound and classy look. I have a PHEV as well so am okay with the gas mileage on 550hp.
watching this driving video made by this guys gives better experience from those Top Gear video,, it is really nice,,,,i nvr sat in high end sport cars before but now i know how they could feel, monstrous.
I'm working as an engineer in Jaguar Land Rover headquarters (Whitley) and I am very happy that you tried finally taste of F-Type.. I wish you will try Range Rover Sport SVR in future
+Kohutakis PL Tell your co-workers (particularly the ones in PR) I'd love to! I've had a difficult time getting into Land Rover/Jaguar territory. I'll be in the UK in December, if you think anything could happen shoot me an e-mail (listed on my about page). Such an amazing machine!
Just found this fun video! Nice job!! I am looking at two used 2017 Jaguar F-Type R AWD vehicles. Both in good shape, w 30K miles on them. One has CCM brakes, the other does not. Asking price is about $60K for either. I do not plan to track or autocross the car, but do like driving on twisty roads, etc. Wondered which would be a better investment since CCM last for the life of the car, are rare, etc. Thanks Jason! Love your videos!
I've never driven any of the cars you mentioned, but for me, i don't think it can be more fun to drive than a stick shift Viper. It may sound better, but i really think automatic transmissions are a limitation no matter how great they can be.
+Amir Amdard Before driving both, I would have said the exact same. Not saying some one's better than the other for everyone, but I was astounded at how much I enjoyed the F-Type.
Excellent vid. For everyone's information that screenshot of the brakes near the end is the exact reason why he was unimpressed with the performance of them... they're fucked!! lol. has nearly zero pad life left and those rotors look rough as hell. Side note, when pad backings take on that reddish rust color, they've been overheated. Needs a 25k brake job unfortunately.
I so want this car, well either this one (but the F-type R RWD, not AWD) or a Cayman GT4 (which is completely sold out, so no chance there). If only I could afford it!
Why do jaguar v8s sound different from American v8s? Is it because of different types of cams, shorter piston travel distances, exhaust piping, firing order?
What happened with popping up the hood and seeing the engine. I mean info is all good but can also read about it. You used to take tires off card and look under and see all the mechanical nick nacks
i test drove one of these twice, felt great on the road but id say its a car that its great until you get to about 8/10ths. Really once you drive the amg gt or the carrera s this thing doesnt quite match up in my books
Amin Sabourian It absolutely is. The SLS AMG had garbage handling. Literally. It felt more like a muscle car. The SLS Black Series was perfect though. The AMG GTS is basically Mercedes saying they can build a sportscar comparable to the 911. And it is. The chassis is fantastic, and it has a V8. That's amazing.
+Rav3rigeDe4th Jaguar has rolled out a new warranty plan for this very reason: "Introducing Jaguar EliteCare. Our commitment to you and your new Jaguar. lol he wasn't able to get passed 3rd gear on the street's, lol but older guys are the guys that are usually the ones buying Jaguars! so basically it would just be in automatic, all the time and probably would never be...... petals have a metal! or driving like a race car, or anything like that to its real potential. because let's face it ,what young guy is able to a damn near $100,000 vehicle ,or which is I believe $100,000 vehicle.....
+Engineering Explained Exceptional is a whole package. Plus, Randy said so! I hope you get the opportunity to drive one, because Merc made some magic with SLS.
The rear end looks pretty but that front end looks so dull and boring. Makes it look like some kind of an economy car. Never understood those who said this car is pretty.
+Engineering Explained wow it's that good huh, I drove a gtr and fell in love with it, never sat in an f type yet but man all these reviews on UA-cam are saying it's absolutely amazing!
Alfa Won Sure, you can look for Aftermarket Wheels, but what i meant was OEM Wheels from Jaguar...they only have one set fitting to the CCBs. That and the cost of the CCB compared to the relative use of them made me order the normal brakes :)
In every Jaguar F-Type review I have watched, the driver smiles while thinking in his or her head "Mmmm yes...this is awesome."
+Engineering Explained Might like the supercharged V6 with the available manual transmission.
+Engineering Explained had the same reaction stomping on the gas as Subaruwrxfan did....lol I need to drive one too...
This is my dream car right here. I will have this car, or its newer variant, in five years! Work your ass off people; make your dreams a reality!
I hope you achieve your goal, it's unreal!
Engineering Explained thanks! I got to drive one and immediately fell in love with it. I had a smile plastered on my face, just like you, the entire time. I don't think I've ever had a car excite me in such a way; it's an unreal machine.
+UA-cam Aneesh Yup, I've been working extra hard ever since this car came out.
Aneesh Sompalli I am in a situation where I can actually buy it but I will wait until I can pay for it without taking a loan.

The 10 dislikes are Evo owners lmao
lmfao
you bet
I've never seen a reviewer so involved in the driving experience. love you vids. keep up the good work
Dear God, I want one of these! One of the F Types will be my next AWD car.....
I spun out in an older f type I think a 2014. I used to work at a used car dealership, I had driven other jaguars there before. Well when I got in I was messing around with the different drive modes and put it in sport or track, and when I stepped on the gas the thing just turned sideways on me.
+Jesse Silva Exactly why AWD was needed. Jag acted quick.
i wanna test drive this car soooo bad,the sound it makes is GLORIOUS.
YOU NEED IT!
This is one exhaust I'd ditched the UEL for!
Each time you start your videos with "We're gonna be CHECKING out" I get reminded of an article that dealt with "anti-intellectualism" in US. Cheers.
Nice review ! Funny in comparison to other video reviews you were to "blown away" with the lack of technical review and commentary. Car burbles a lot and has a nice sound for a Jag, just had the opportunity to drive a friends car with similar package brakes.

i never expected that sound its amazing :) makes me sad i don't have a spare $230,000 AUD laying around
Sadly prices are so f high in AU
Does your girlfriend knows you're cheating with the Jag?
+MTC0316 She doesn't watch my videos, it shall remain secret! ;)
Yay! Highway 7 towards Mt. Rainier. I love that road.
You have seriously become my favorite youtuber, keep up the awesome work! You have inspired me to take a shot at creating my own channel one day.
Awesome, thank you!! Best of luck! :)
I was like WOW you're pushing it pretty hard in the corners without the tail coming out! Then I realized that the new F-Type Rs come in AWD!
+Gobin Giritharan Yep, I also had the assists on. Even still, it was a little twitchy, though it's not as easy to tell on camera.
I watch all your vids whenever they come up in my subscription - please keep making quality content like this. I am also one for humor as well!!
😵Those 6 mins felt waaaay too short... Loved the review..!! Love those exhaust notes 😍😍😍#cantgetenough

It's a joy to see so much happiness on your face!👏
I'd love to see an engineering video on how this car works and why it's so good.
Just found this fun video! Nice job!! I am looking at two used 2017 Jaguar F-Type R AWD vehicles. Both in good shape, w 30K miles on them. One has CCM brakes, the other does not. OHHHH FINALLY I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!
the best exhuast sound in the world
That exhaust... :99999 i'm drooling omg lol
If I had one modern super car it would be this one or the maserati stradale, amazing cars
Stunning vehicle!
Gotta love that after fire
Ah. I see 3 Porsche 911 fans have been here.
Goodbye Evo!
Every video with someone reviewing this jag is 90% giggling after accelerating
Beautiful car that one!
I've never driven any of the cars you mentioned, but for me, i don't think it can be more fun to drive than a stick shift Viper. It may sound better, but i really think automatic transmissions are a limitation no matter how great they can be.

If I could afford thsi car, this video would have sold it to me lol
Excellent vid. so superchargers work better for low end power? couldn't a smaller turbo give the same effect?
+Kevin Ho It's possible, yes, but then it would die out on the top end.
would you say the F-Type is the British equivilent of the Corvette or a British Muscle Car?
So how about testing a Porsche 911? I'd very interested in your opinion.
I so want this car, well either this one (but the F-type R RWD, not AWD) or a Cayman GT4 (which is completely sold out, so no chance there). If only I could afford it!
+Scot Mcphee Don't get the RWD F-Type you won't have fun. Honestly, you can't put the power down.
but AWD is yuk ;-)
anyway plenty of other cars deliver a lot more than 400kw to the ground effectively through only the rear wheels.
Scot Mcphee Well yes, but the F-Type isn't great at handling that power.
+VirusTornado You would be wrong. The Type R is AWD.
sounds great
Why do jaguar v8s sound different from American v8s? Is it because of different types of cams, shorter piston travel distances, exhaust piping, firing order?
The exhaust is diffrent
Firing order and how the crankshaft is orientated.
+Banana Split This is a standard cross plane V8, probably not too different from a Ford Coyote.
+emertes17 a system pumps fuel into the exhaust when u let off why u get the burble
+RandomGamingMontages I looked it up, you're right
Can you make a video explaining how the F -Type has all them pops?
it's just a software thing.
Wow, that color is spectacular!! The transmission didn't seem to rev match the downshifts though... D-:
Downshifts are definitely rev-matched. Most impressive planetary auto I've ever driven, shows that it can be done properly.
+ncs productions 550 hp.
Is it not the 11speed transmission?
What a sound.
Sensational. What an animal.
does this have the integral link rear suspension?
What color was that? Black amethyst?
I had no idea.... Now your talking!!
Can't wait for your review on a 911.
Which do you prefer, the AR4C or the F type?
Well the F Type R is about double the price, but I enjoyed driving it more than the 4C.
Was it the only car you drove that day that had a supercharger?
Nope, Hellcat also has a supercharger.
Am I the only one that noticed how CLOSE that F-Type's wheel was to the curb?
I hearing the V6 is a better choice,
Sounds better imo,
Are you gonna buy one then? :D
What happened with popping up the hood and seeing the engine. I mean info is all good but can also read about it. You used to take tires off card and look under and see all the mechanical nick nacks
+K0MRADru As mentioned at the beginning of the video, this was at a press event (only had the car for a short leg).
Still like your videos very much man! Very informative! Good job:)
does this have a torque converter??
+GlassBlade (rsethc) Yes.
make the integra sound like that
i test drove one of these twice, felt great on the road but id say its a car that its great until you get to about 8/10ths. Really once you drive the amg gt or the carrera s this thing doesnt quite match up in my books
+felix pinto Exactly. My dad bought a Carrera S for that exact reason hahahaha.
AMG GT handles way better than this, and it's just cooler looking car!
Amin Sabourian I personally think the AMG GTS deserves all the praise it gets, wonderful car.
+VirusTornado true, Many say it's even more fun than sls amg
Amin Sabourian It absolutely is. The SLS AMG had garbage handling. Literally. It felt more like a muscle car. The SLS Black Series was perfect though. The AMG GTS is basically Mercedes saying they can build a sportscar comparable to the 911. And it is. The chassis is fantastic, and it has a V8. That's amazing.
Are Jaguars reliable? Mostly this Type R?
+Rav3rigeDe4th Jaguar has rolled out a new warranty plan for this very reason: "Introducing Jaguar EliteCare. Our commitment to you and your new Jaguar. Yes I would say so I own a 2009 XF and I haven't had any major problems:)
Those brakes are worth more than my car :(
Nice :)
the sound is almost scary
wow! I got the type s for $82,000
"best 8 speed automatic transmission on the planet" - planetary gearbox pun?
+GlassBlade (rsethc) Ba dum tss!
How to review a high-performance luxury car: Floor it and giggle like a small child.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I see this car as the rich man's GT86
Ehh, not really very similar. This is heavier, AWD, supercharged, V8. The other is light, RWD, NA, H4.
Engineering Explained ^^, Yeah the AWD is enough to make it a whole lot different.
It's just me or the front of the car really reminds me of the Fiat Grande Punto?
careful with the throttle through those corners ;)
Hello one and all and welcome to seen through glass
+Cornwall1888 in my mind, Sam downgraded when he traded in his special 4C for the ordinary looking F type.
H Kone I think an 550bhp v8 is on another level, looks great sounds great. The 4c was special too though but not easy to live with everyday
Snap Crackle Pop
OMG! Yum!!!!!
When the wing is up why are you looking behind.. :p
+wobbly sauce To see how far back the Evo is. I try not to lose my friends. :)
And the F-type can sing a song in the mean time.
Maybe consider blurring out the license plate. :)
+totszwai It's a press car.
+Engineering Explained A jaguar muscle car how odd. I think a camero would be more fun and cheaper
beats the americans in their own game
lol he wasn't able to get passed 3rd gear on the street's, lol but older guys are the guys that are usually the ones buying Jaguars! so basically it would just be in automatic, all the time and probably would never be...... petals have a metal! or driving like a race car, or anything like that to its real potential. because let's face it ,what young guy is able to a damn near $100,000 vehicle ,or which is I believe $100,000 vehicle.....
+BIKES BLADES/GUN'S That's why the V6 manual version exists.
I know you'd change your mind in a Mercedes AMG SLS. I know it for fact.
+jwhite7621 How do you know!? Haha, I hear it's great. But the Jaguar's exhaust is so exceptional!
Great video and very enjoyable but this English car's name is pronounced JAG-YOU-ARE not JAG-WAH! ;-)
Both are correct
+EgoShredder American pronunciation is different
Would you pick this or the gtr? haha
+sahan Rajasuriya That's pretty tough, but the Jag definitely made me smile more. I'd say it has the fun factor.
+Engineering Explained wow it's that good huh, I drove a gtr and fell in love with it, never sat in an f type yet but man all these reviews on UA-cam are saying it's absolutely amazing!
Its so guttural!
Y are u keep saying it is a monster?? lolz
well that wasn't a review at all..
Nope, it was a love story.
Poor Evo..
Maaaaaaaaaadd
All things considered, it's not that great
+Roger Smith found the hipster
The wheels are ugly. Would be the first thing Id change
They have some sexy wheel options.
Not if you choose ceramic brakes. Only those wheels can be chosen with those brakes due to space issues.
Im sure I could find a way - repaint them or get new wheels built independently
Alfa Won Sure, you can look for Aftermarket Wheels, but what i meant was OEM Wheels from Jaguar...they only have one set fitting to the CCBs.
That and the cost of the CCB compared to the relative use of them made me order the normal brakes :)
