Sat in one at a local auto show, and honestly, it was the most beautiful car there. (And there were some beauty's, like the new Huracan and the 918). The pictures and videos really don't capture really how good looking this car is. You have to see it in person and walk around it and take it in from all different angles. Definitely one of the nicest car designs of the last 15 years...Stunning.
This is the OFFICIAL replacement for the legendary E-Type. It's just as beautiful as the E-type, within modern margins of course. Like I seriously can't think of another car more beautiful than this. I don't care what anyone else brings up, keep your preference to yourselves cuz you can't define beauty when it stares you in the face !!
You hit the nail on the head!!! I had the V6, then got an Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio. Some drive, but what a nightmare when something goes wrong. Then a BMW M2. Delightful pocket rocket. Now an F-Type again. The V8 SVR. 5 litre, 575 BHP, 322 top speed... In it's own league. A combination of go-cart and GT. Unique. Sexy as!
Jaguar can pump out something as good as this with limited resources at a semi-reasonable price yet a huge company like Toyota can't make a viable new-age Supra??? Well done Jag!
when i said that this guy and chris harris was my favorite from uk i was talking about how these two guys (jethro i think his name is and chris) are not bias they are true auto enthusiast which every journalist should be unbiased these two guys i mention keep it 100 if they don't like a car they tell u what they don't like about it and how it can be improved not like the guys from top gear who bash almost anything (this is coming from a top gear fan) if top gear is looking for replacement in the near future these two guys are good candidates also my favorite top gear host is Hammond he the least bias of the group this is my opinion u don't have to like it
Whoever this guy is, he is such a genius when it comes to presenting the car, I loved the analogy of when he was talking about the rousers (police) and he was just having a bit of fun. Great car review this man needs to be in every car review
One of, if not the best reviews of our time. The best analogy to explain this; the F-Type R is like an antelope with the reflex of a housefly. It's a stunning beauty, in fact I don't think there's any automobile company board that has a 100% success rate in approving designs and manufacture of beautiful cars like Jaguar does. From the legendary XJ to the breathtakingly stunning C-X75, these guys are genius.
I went from the XKRS to the R Coupe and am amazed at how much more planted the R Coupe feels. Driving the XKRS (which I have tracked) feels like there is a sledge hammer ready to take your head off if you make a mistake. The R Coupe has a playful character, which says "common and toss me around". I love the car.
Literally had a dream about the F-Type R last night. Dark green almost blue, Convertible. Just got it home, gave it a wax. Almost ran over some kittens. One of the most vivid dreams I've had in awhile, not to mention I absolutely adore Jaguar. Then I woke up, very sad, but enlightened because I've been torn between what kind of car I want for pleasure. I think I've found my match. This is literally a dream car. Cheers
My god, it sounds astonishing!! I though, that after Maserati Quattroporte I won't hear anything so good in my life. But then, Jaguar F-Type came. I am watching than moment in 0:50 and... Thank you Jaguar for this car. It is absolutely music to my ears.
Definitely the best review on UA-cam if you wanna learn more about the car, good angles more description of the car rather than showing the drivers face for 20 mins.
Most people who can actually afford this are only interested in the looks and the badge .This is the best looking new car ... it looks fresh and something different . Porsche , BMW , Merc , Audi and even Lamborghini haven't offered anything new in terms of how they look . Just look at the Huracan ... hasn't got anything new to offer , in fact looks boring . The F-type coupe looks just amazing . Jaguar right now probably have the best line up of models ..... and will get even better with the future SUV and the M3 rival .
IMO, you're right with BMW and Audi not offering anything new in terms of looks, but I do think Mercs are evolving in a good way.. But in the end, tastes are very subjective, so everyone have their own opinions.
gianhet Mercedes always have a solid and reliable range of cars . But i think Mercs are getting a bit boring , maybe coz they are so common . People don't really notice even an S-class . Compared to that a Jag XJ appears to be much more " premium " . People in my city stop and notice a Jag . I do have a bias since it is owned by TATA . But anyway i do think the F-type is just stunning .
Mumbhai Khatri AMG cars still turn a lot of heads, just with their amazing sounds.. And that's the beauty of Mercs, they're great, classy and stealthy, they're not tacky etc The XJ doesn't appear premium at all imo .. The front looks quite fantastic, i'll give you that, but the rest looks quite cheap actually.. Anyway, the new lineup of Mercedes is really not boring, just look at the upcoming S coupé ;)
gianhet That's very interesting, because IMO the front of the XJ does't look that premium (probably because it's the same as the XF), but I think the rear looks amazing! It's got the rear light design that I believe they call the 'cat's claw' and I instantly recognise it as an XJ. But I agree that the upcoming S coupe looks absolutely stunning.
gianhet sorry but most people in my country are too poor and too unaware to notice the difference between an AMG and a regular merc . for them a merc is a merc whatever class it might be . most will not even be able to tell you which class is more expensive than the other . but i have noticed my fellow countrymen to stop and take a look at a jag coz it looks something new on our roads . it " looks " premium . A merc unless it is some slr or something , simply fails to get any attention . Of course the situation in your country must be very different . I only speak for mine .
To me the F Type R is the only car ever made by Jag because it's very beautiful and it has everything I expected from a sports car. Plus I do agree with him.
I'll be honest, (not saying that I can afford this car) this car was not on my radar until I saw the "Good to be Bad" advert for the car. Hell, this makes me want it more now that I've seen the review xD
I realy love this car... the prototype was, for me, a revelation, and now.. the car is on the market... I want one... I need to work more for that X-D....
I test drove the supercharged version - 495 hp. Major wheel spin - the tires break loose when you floor it at 30 MPH. I ordered the R coupe (550 hp.)- it should be here mid May. The car drives great - the only downside is the 0to60 time of 4.0 is a little slower than I wanted. I believe its just a traction issue. Can't wait to get my hands on this bad boy - already looking at new back tires!
Good film, very well presented. You argued your case perfectly. It is a beautiful car. I have owned an E-type..this is more of a together package. The E was descended from the D.. and THAT was the truly beautiful car. Money eh.. always spoils the party.! WF
I have the 2019 svr. I had an xf-r 2017. The upgrade is beyond expectation. I went convertible, because aside from 5mph difference (coupe does 201 mph) I'm not going to hit 196 mph very often. But..open top at 190+ is staggeringly incredible. If you want to know why I prefer convertible...just go hit 190+ mph open top. Mostly I'm at 60mph over rolling hills and country back roads. Pure, unrivalled bliss. Ps. I traded a porsche spyder 981 in for it. Never looked back. Gt is what I wanted. Jaguar delivered.
1. Amazing shots! Felt like I was in the cinema. 2. Flipping hell this thing sounds like an animal... Lets say, a jaguar. 3. Can't believe I've only just discovered this channel. Subscribed!
There may be faster cars, cars that are quicker around a track, but there is no beating what the F-Type is: an as close to perfect modern-day interpretation of the 1960's E-Type. Much like the way Mercedes did the same with the SLS AMG gullwing door cars in relation to their 1950's 300SL gullwing door ancestors. It's a thing of beauty. A high speed Grand Touring car. If Aston Martin wants to be able to speak of "beauty, power, and soul," they need to flip through an F-Type brochure. Like that line from "Mad Men" when Don was making a pitch to Jaguar for the E-Type, he used the phrase, "Finally a thing of beauty you can truly own." All of the F-Type R "versus" videos are missing the point. It's a car that stands alone. It would be like doing a "versus" video about the "722" 300SLR that Stirling Moss and Dennis "Janks" took to victory in the 1955 Mille Miglia.
I'm glad we have cars like this still in our world (referencing J.Clarkson's views from the EPIC V12 Vantage film on the finale of Top Gear). It LITERALLY sounds like a roaring lion, just stoked that its even legal to have that exhaust. The V8 R is phenomenal but the V6 S with 380hp tune is equally so. I find that engine produces a sound very much resembling a 60s 4.2 litre straight 6 E-type. Possibly more agile than the V8 R as its less nose heavy. Either way, they are both brilliant cars; if only Jaguar also offered a manual transmission. XCAR, you've only been around for about a year or two but I very much look forward to your videos. Alex, I remember your old days in Podisode with Jon Quirk
I've had 2 Jaguar's...an X Type and an S Type...the S Type was a rocket with a 300 HP 4.2 V8...drove and sounded like a race car....420 watt stereo but who listens to music with an Engine that sounds like pure Adrenaline...So I can definitely relate to this F Type R.....Gotta have one...just as soon as I bank $110k.....
+Alfred Munkenbeck Well, there is one car you could be interested in, it's the Aston Martin V8 Vantage S (or V12 S depends on your budget). It's an old school "analogue" but still with some high tech combined. Maybe it's the naturally aspirated engine, the richer sound, the miles better steering feel, the stunning look or just the sum of all what makes the Vantage more special. Yes, you can get the V8 Vantage (S) and V 12 (S) as convertible. I have to agree with you, the first Vantage models (2006) looked a little bit modest. But the "new" models specially the V8 Vantage S (2011) and the SP10 special edition is one of the most beautiful Aston Martin ever. It has a classic look and the front remembers me a little of the DB5. (just search for: Aston Martin SP10)
Its funny when people say this car doesn't handles well. Cuz Coupe R did the ring in 7:39 Just 2s slower then the 911 S on a 8min track. Faster then the Audi 5.2 FSI. SL 63 AMG. I don't understand what's the problem here. It's just like people must say something bad about it.
What a gorgeous car. When I was younger, I had a poster of a Ferrari 308 and a Porsche 911 turbo. In all likelihood, this would be today's equivalent of the porn of my youth. Thanks Jag.
It really does make you question a 911 (not all of them however).. Too bad there isn't a manual gearbox but then again, that wouldn't stop me from wanting one!
I really wanted this car. I ended up with a Boxster Spyder instead, but I still dream about it. The engine is the most hilariously entertaining thing you'll come across short of a Lamborghini. It is LOUD. And the pops and backfires are even louder. It sounds like Satan screaming bloody murder. It's not supremely sharp and agile, although it does have good grip, but it is just a hell of a lot of fun, and isn't that the point anyway? I really recommend this car. I can't wait to get one. Maybe a Shelby GT350, Viper, or Z06 have engines this entertaining, but I doubt it. This one is pure theater. I LOVE IT.
This seems like it's just a ridiculously fun touring/sports coupe. Who wouldn't want one?! And it looks absolutely stunning. Better looking than almost anything in its price range, actually better looking than a lot of cars, in my own worthless opinion, lol.
There's one problem with this car, HOW ON EARTH is jaguar going improve the exterior of this car for further generations? like I mean the car is so damn beautiful!
I like Jaguar..but as all car lovers know..their rep hasn't been the greatest..Its good to hear that their turning things around...and putting out some pretty stunning cars as of late...nice..
it was such a joy to watch you try to get your tiny little hands around that adult size steering wheel... haha my wife wants one of you to put in the middle of her fireplace .. as an ornament
Just did a little walk around a F-Type R yesterday and I must say it's a really beautiful car, might even be my dreamcar.
A used F-Type V6 S Coupe would probably be one of the best sports car bargains money can buy. Can't wait.
Yep. Did just that. It is. AWD no less so every single day all year.
You predicted right.
Sat in one at a local auto show, and honestly, it was the most beautiful car there. (And there were some beauty's, like the new Huracan and the 918).

BimmerMann I think it’s easily one of the prettiest cars ever made. But there are some other lookers at least worth mentioning along with it.
@@a.edw.160 which ones? cuz once corona is over, im heading out to my neighbor country and buying an f type R.
Jaguar can pump out something as good as this with limited resources at a semi-reasonable price yet a huge company like Toyota can't make a viable new-age Supra??? Well done Jag!
No doubt! I just wish the Jag had Toyota reliability.
Toyota reliable but uninspiring.
Yeah Toyota is just playing games with that ugly ass Supra z4. They don't really want to make a car like the Supra or they would have.
@Ian TB oh I see, you're just a jealous hack making nasty replies regardless
Toyota=Overrated.
This is what gets me up to get working, My goal to own one of these beauties in the future.
Yes!! Same here brother!! Let's get it!
Dear Carfection, could you please tell us whats the name of the soundtrack / music being used in 1:30 ? Its amazing! Thank you!
me too.
They depreciate so fast that you can probably get a '14 model these days with the loose change in your pocket.
I drive an XF and I would definitely like one ☝️
The quality of your videos just keeps getting better and better!
Actually one of the best review i've ever seen on UA-cam, filming was so perfect and you argued well! congrats
This has got to be in my top 5 favourite car sounds ever.
This guy and chris harris are my favorite auto journalist from the uk
I agree, but I'd honestly add Jethro Bovingdon as well, I think they provide a nice combination between tehnical details and automotive pasion.
can't forget about J Clarckson
when i said that this guy and chris harris was my favorite from uk i was talking about how these two guys (jethro i think his name is and chris) are not bias they are true auto enthusiast which every journalist should be unbiased these two guys i mention keep it 100 if they don't like a car they tell u what they don't like about it and how it can be improved not like the guys from top gear who bash almost anything (this is coming from a top gear fan) if top gear is looking for replacement in the near future these two guys are good candidates also my favorite top gear host is Hammond he the least bias of the group this is my opinion u don't have to like it
Powaup Clarkson is a clown compared to these guys
justcallmegod2 dude your lack of understanding one's(Clarkson's) irony is apparent...mainly when that's the most used style of his speech
Came back to see this video for the third time - brilliant review and the authenticity from the host is palpable.
XCAR love you more for being the 1st ones to have reviewed this beauty in a lenghty enough clip.
Cheers
Whoever this guy is, he is such a genius when it comes to presenting the car, I loved the analogy of when he was talking about the rousers (police) and he was just having a bit of fun. Great car review this man needs to be in every car review
I caught myself like a parent on Graduation Day ,, one hand on heart, head tilted to one side and teary eyed ! Brilliant review !
One of, if not the best reviews of our time. The best analogy to explain this; the F-Type R is like an antelope with the reflex of a housefly. Best XCAR video yet, I'm so happy this car exists.
The photography of this video was excellent, and the beginning of the video was Brilliant no music no voice just engine noise. FANTASTIC. Thanks :-)
I love that 5.0 liter v8 supercharged SOUND!
My god, it sounds astonishing!! I though, that after Maserati Quattroporte I won't hear anything so good in my life. But then, Jaguar F-Type came. I am watching than moment in 0:50 and... Thank you Jaguar for this car. It is absolutely music to my ears.
Probably the best exhaust noise that i ever heard out of all the sport cars
Aston Martin Vantage meets Maserati Granturismo. Can't be a greater compliment for mine than that. Jolly good show Jaguar. Brilliant.
Definitely the best review on UA-cam if you wanna learn more about the car, good angles more description of the car rather than showing the drivers face for 20 mins.
Absolutely agree! Was looking forward to this much more than the convertible. Great car!
You guys have been stepping up the game with these videos. Brlliant car to aspire for! Need to start saving the pennies!
Couldn't stop geeking out about him pronouncing Jaguar -- "Jag-yuh-wwuh"

This car looks AMAZING! Another brilliant video.
The supercharged V8 is music to ears!
I would rather have this car than any other sports coupe on the market currently...truly a work of art!!
Excellent job on this. I was seriously expecting applause at the end, thought I was watching Top Gear for a moment.
3:24
"The convertible is like a cake, but a coupe is like another cake on top of that cake"
Crazy methapor action, Xcar!
I'll be honest, (not saying that I can afford this car) this car was not on my radar until I saw the "Good to be Bad" advert for the car. Hell, this makes me want it more now that I've seen the review xD

The Jaguar F type in my opinion is a work of art. Stunning with the technology to support it. It could easily be (and should be) a Bond Car.
What a beautiful machine.
I test drove the supercharged version - 495 hp. Major wheel spin - the tires break loose when you floor it at 30 MPH. I ordered the R coupe (550 hp.)- it should be here mid May. This is my ultimate dream car, i would literally sit at a gas pump and rev it all damn day.
Good film, very well presented.
You argued your case perfectly. It is a beautiful car. I have owned an E-type..this is more of a together package. The E was descended from the D.. and THAT was the truly beautiful car.
Money eh.. always spoils the party.!
WF
This is a beautiful car, no doubt. Very few modern cars 'do it' for me but this...
I have the 2019 svr. I had an xf-r 2017. The upgrade is beyond expectation. I went convertible, because aside from 5mph difference (coupe does 201 mph) I'm not going to hit 196 mph very often. the thing i love about it the most is the sound of the exhaust it's so me
Informative and well delivered great video.. And the car is simply stunning. Want one so bad!
art. what you produce is art. a simple yet beautiful edition job
Looks stunning, absolutely fun to drive and the noise is just so good to the ears. Can't wait to see one on the road
Phenomenal video guys, you're getting better and better. Very impressed.
1. Amazing shots! Felt like I was in the cinema.
2. Flipping hell this thing sounds like an animal... Lets say, a jaguar.
3. Can't believe I've only just discovered this channel. Subscribed!
*COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!*
This is the first Jaguar that I actually like. Nice car.

@Ian TB why wouldn't they count as Jags?
+Alfred Munkenbeck
Well, there is one car you could be interested in, it's the Aston Martin V8 Vantage S (or V12 S depends on your budget).
Best Jaguar since XJ220 :D There should be VS race between XJ220 and this beauty.
Liked the car, the sound it made, the way it looked. But whoa, what a review. It was very inspiring and honest.
The speed and the velocity of this demon!
Its funny when people say this car doesn't handles well.
Cuz Coupe R did the ring in 7:39
Just 2s slower then the 911 S on a 8min track. Faster then the Audi 5.2 FSI. SL 63 AMG. I don't understand what's the problem here. It's just like people must say something bad about it.
Simply put - "the meaning of automotive beauty"! I am lucky enough to own an XFS, which I love, but man, this is on another level. Errol
What a gorgeous car. When I was younger, I had a poster of a Ferrari 308 and a Porsche 911 turbo. In all likelihood, this would be today's equivalent of the porn of my youth. Thanks Jag.
kudos to jaguar they are definately in the game !!
The world can't have enough F-Type videos :)
this F-type coupe and the Alfa 4C are the 2 cars that have stole the headlines. the DNA is perfect. top job
Really liked your presentation.
Very well put. Simple. In the good way i mean.
incredibly good looking car
BEST LOOKING CAR BUILT IN YEARS!!!
I honestly thought for a sec that it was richard hammond talking..... x_x
Haha I can see that
Same
Same as here
Hear Richard Hammond, see Chester Bennington from Linkin Park
Makes you want a Jag... well said.
It really does make you question a 911 (not all of them however).. Too bad there isn't a manual gearbox but then again, that wouldn't stop me from wanting one!
Best sounding car of all time (my opinion).
Best looking car on the market under 500k.
The sound Is great
Great commentary, love the video and editing as well.
2 different F-type v8s were used in this video XD one with ceramic brake dices while the other one doesnt

Who made the outro music? It first sounded like Ben Frost, but it got too much edm in the end for him.
I really really would like to know the song / music from 1:34 - please! @Carfection
There's one problem with this car, HOW ON EARTH is jaguar going improve the exterior of this car for further generations? like I mean the car is so damn beautiful!
this is to me the best looking car of the decade .....epic ...
I like Jaguar..but as all car lovers know..their rep hasn't been the greatest..Its good to hear that their turning things around...and putting out some pretty stunning cars as of late...nice..
That back end is just....
it was such a joy to watch you try to get your tiny little hands around that adult size steering wheel... haha my wife wants one of you to put in the middle of her fireplace .. as an ornament
Good job, Jaguar! I believe in you.

wow you guys are the first to review it
The first two minutes are straight up goose bump territory.
WANT!
What type of camera is being used I would like to get one
Yes, what he said! Jaguar gets it. It's not just transportation.
I don't think red is the right colour for this car...other than that: amazing machine!
I've been enjoying the convertible in firesand orange. That's the color to get!
Paul Strauss For the Roadster this seems fine. I would prefer a grey metallic for the coupe like on the CX-16 concept! now where are those wheels?!!
Agree. British racing green with tan or dark gray with brown are the way to go
kraenk12 red is the best color
Note to Austin Powers: This is the car that puts the F in Shaguar.
Sweet supercar, lovely design and great perfomances and also a great handling
My dream car. Definitely will trade up my XFS for this beauty next.
WOW..I wasn't much of a Jag fan but they've really supped things up.
It's going to steal Aston customers.
Would love to be in that position lol :)
Lets hope so :)
wayne burgess Most of them will buy this because of the Fast 7, and I wish you the best in being there, I am... at almost 27

+wayne burgess Its too cheap for aston customers. And with less class. Aston has more adult character. IMHO.
Some excellent choice of words to describe this motor my friend....I'm off to change my pants...

It is absolutely beautiful. Much more than the other versions.
.....XF is a lot sexier than a 5-series =(
