Day 1 of the 2019 World Jet Boat Championship held in Canada
Boat powered by a 1500hp Turbine engine
Nigel Cromie has Tungsten Carbide balls ... that are even Nickel Chrome plated.
The bridge made me very nervous.
that looks insanely dangerous and for some strange reason i want to do this.
It's astonishingly dangerous. Hitting the water at high speed is completely different from diving in from the side of the pool.
The elasticity of water vanishes as the speed of your entry into it increases.
Water 'gives way' and elastic recoil is a 'gentle resistance' if you dive in from the side of the pool.
If you jump off the high dive, your speed when you enter the water is much higher. If you 'belly smack' at that speed, you know what happens.
In a boat at these speeds............ well I won't get graphic. There is no 'give way', there is no 'elastic recoil' offered by water when you enter it at high speed.
There is no elasticity at all.
Well, there is as much elasticity as that offered by a brick wall.
.
Same, maybe a bit slower
And it will be your last time 😂
You certainly don’t want to miscalculate going under that bridge.
omg, I cannot even imagine the adrenaline rush! you guys are nuts, and your boats are crazy cool! I used to be a jet mech on A10 aircraft, so my love of turbines runs deep! that looks intense! those boats sure dance on that water! stay safe guys and thanks for the insane footage!
Oh Nice! We might need you to give our engines a tune up! thanks man. appreciate the comment
@@nigelcromie990 does that boat have a fish finder on it? Looking to upgrade my bass boat to something that gets me to my favorite fishing spots a little faster. BTW awesome video!
Powerful! On water, the control is not at all like on land, and when the pilot is walking in the wake of another vessel, it is generally incomprehensible how he keeps his own at such a speed. I was especially struck by the passage under the bridge - the testicles of the guys are probably made of tungsten))))
Talking about the testicules of other men...You must be such a sweet heart.
Can’t believe how glued in the bow of the boat is.
Yes! along as you have some good throttle on there is lots of grip. It is when you are slowing down with low throttle they get a bit slippery
Ohhhhhh God! Simply amazing! I will even pay to drive at that speed! Truly, truly outstanding!!!
Jet boat racing = Living life at the edge awesome show!
Nice Run and Good Speed 2 !! I like these Jet Boats ! U Guys have a Safe Race and lots of Fun !!
for the people in the US top speed at 205 kph is 125 mph and that is fast on water
More intense than F1. Great stuff
that bloke in the truck on the bridge would've been like WHAT THE FUCK!!!!
Just watching has me exhausted!
“Honey, just gonna hit the river, see what we can catch. Might never come back. Luv ya.”
Definitely In Whitecourt they know what there doing they do this race allmost every year in the same spot that beige really isn't as scary as it looks there just going really fast. excellent event it's usually talk of the town used to go every year
Yo, i've never seen this before. This looks like an absolute riot, GOOD GRAVY
You guys are fearless of death and I love it 👍👍
Open throttle on Covid-19 empty roads.
Looks like a lot more fun than power-washing the bottom of the boat at the end of the season!
The SOB infront of U was Fast . U took some faster lines . Gr8 Driving
I want that boat for fishing!!! Imagine, trolling with this boat would allow you to catch your limit within 50 or 60 seconds!
one hell of a ride dude.
200 kmh on the water. Insane!
Good run fellas!
I never thought that counter steering is a thing in boat racing!!!!
got more in common with planes than with boats. crazy fast !
F'n crazy. Especially under the bridges. 😳
Totally awesome.
Scary and super impressive, the motorcyclist in me especially loves the acceleration from 50 - 150 km/h!
things got three speeds here there and gone
Running hard, this time! Damn!
The 1st boat was just too fast..good stuff!!
Fish just sitting there chillin', till they're not.
Damn how do you guys sit on those brass ones? Man, those bridges come up fast.
This looks awesome 👌
Now this is what insanity looks like... Amazing shots ! At these speeds the water is more harsh than concrete. On concrete you don't sink when you've ejected and eventually came to a halt.
Nuckin futs! Some of them turns look sketchy AF. Looks fun
Such a rush :D Powerrrrr!!
Amazing the speed with which these boats travel but one placed rock or stump brings it all to a halt.
Great driving seems other boat is faster looks amazing adrenaline rush watch those bridge column....😳
I’m not sure if it’s the potential of having a blow over or the accidental wake bouncing the boat into the pillars that’d be worse. Honestly, I’d say it’s not if it’s going to happen, it’s just a matter of when!
you guys have balls of fricken steel man holy cow
1:16 this moment under the bridge scared the shit outta me
That was a Rushhhh!!👌
Courage.
how does the paint manage to stay on the bottom of the hull??? crazy
The Holden sticker on the dash definitely an Aussie....
Won't see those stickers anymore sad sad day for Australia that was.. 😔😥
Where was this bass tournament held at?
Yeah they wanted to get to the fish first.
Ahahahahahahahah
Sick 👍👍👍
So getting some air just before one of those bridges would be bad?
F , , K THAT…it only takes a log in the water and you’ll be chewing the fat with The Grim Reaper…respect bro!
@CleetusMcfarland heres you a new version of jetboat racing haha
man o man, you have to work so much harder to keep up to the lead boat let alone pass him...pummeled by the lead boat's rooster tail, poor visibility, and taking whatever line the lead boat leaves you to name a few, makes for a busy and challenging day...it would be cool to see heart rates...I know mine is higher from just watching...
4:27 yikes! Not a good place to lose control!
That looks like a really good time !!!
Seems like the heart rate is pretty high most of the ride, all the drift wood and/or logs on the shore line is a bit concerning !
185 KPH !!!!!
Are you blind?
What ?!!!
Did I miss something ?
Please tell me.
@@denislemelin7653 Yes, you did and it's obvious.
This requires Spheres of Pure 440 Stainless.
ОХРЕНЕТЬ КАК КРУТО !
WOW!
Looks like you are in Peace River, beautiful area.
Boat still has better steering control than a 1970 Roadrunner I used to have.
Windsurfing at 40knots is fast enough for me. Especially when your head is 2 ft above the water.
The best thing about wind power is no noise except for the board planes .
Imagine toobin down the river when these 2 things rocket past. 🤣
Круто вот это мастерство!!!
Makes the Isle of Man tt look safe!😳
Wait is he flying that jet boat like literally is it flying or on the water that’s wild. 80/20 flying while wet
Ballz of steel
This is the craziest ride I've ever been on without leaving the house... wonder what the fish see when it goes by...👍
Mashaallah,,laju nya,,jantung buleh letak kt luar😀
How much fuel are in these things? And are they sucking in water and blowing it out the back?
The wind sounds fkn amazing.... ????
Hitting 190 kph or 118 mph on water would be like driving on the surface of speed bumps with limited steering at 60mph really cool
We need real 1000 mile endurance races. Yukon, Lena, Irtysch, Danube...
What planet was this on? I didnt see the guage go over 1g like on earth
I thought we were a goner when he got busy hands starting at about :55...
What is the job of the second person on board?
120 isn’t crazy fast on land but int the water is wild
Sorry guys, but what means KPH, is it the rotation of the turbine ?
That other boat must have 2,000hp
Что за материал? из чего сделаны яйца этих ребят?
that bridge made the whole thing alot scarier there
De locos
More gods of speed
insane ...
Bill Hamilton would approve, I think.
I don't want to die alone. Will you join me on this trip up the river? Great!
🤘🏻
You're losing that other guys leaving you and its roostertail
Are those winglets fixed position or does it have active aero to keep the bow from flying up if it gets out of hand
We run lift wings so mainly trying to keep the front of the boat up, but not too high!. Constantly adjusting them with buttons on the wheel depending on the wind and trim of the boat
That bridge though 😬
Ehm… I believe (hope) that that telemetry shows km/h and not knots!? 😬
I've done about 140 kts (~260 kph) on water. It was aboard (LOL) the neighbour's float plane (a good one, with a big engine). He took me for a flight, and he did a very high speed, very long duration extended touch-and-go, skipping across a nearby lake at an indicated 140 kts. Then, for the icing on the cake, he slammed the throttles forward, yanked the stick back, and took off near-vertical up to 1000-feet before leveling off. Yeah, float planes are very very very fast boats.
No.
Couldn’t catch the Chevy sprint boat, should’ve changed the speedometer to miles per hour and would’ve gone faster lol. Awesome video!
that is so freaking dangerous going under those bridges.
The speed display is in kph. It only got up to about 20 mph. Anyone can do that.
Yes, the speedo is in metric. It got up to 205 KPH in spots. That's around 125 MPH. You try that in your boat...
Tell me How do you damp all distructive vibration to protect your split shaft engine? And is it affecting your clearance from blades tips to the inside cowling walls? Does your labyrinth seals wear more? How's your engine thrust bearing and radial bearing?
Wow you know some difficult words!
Hey mate! we have the engine mounted on nylon bushes at the back and also on a hanging mount at the front which allows the engine to grow and shrink with the temperature it produces. But at the sometime it is resonably solid so we don't have any issues with blade clearances, bushes or bearings. Unless something else goes wrong which puts pressure on the bearings.
1st place prize. Two maple syrups...one moose.
Jealous, Drew?
Damn.
At 0:39 I was ducking watching this. Lol 😆
Needs more power Scottie
I don't know how they fit in that boat with balls that big. Awesome
That looks dangerous.......
Those things look like they're going faster than they actually are. Somebody needs to show Cleetus this video
@ 1:20 he was close close to that bridge support lol
