@@PentagonMMA🗣‼Muay thai is very similar to kickboxing e.g. kicks punches footwork head movement ect but with elbows knees and clinches in my opinion muay thai is better💪💯
I have been watching alot of rodtang can u please make a vid of how he gets power when he throws his left hooks and can u show how to maintain good balance when throwing left hook then the right hook
@@eastside_king9892 Of course you can! Your hands has to be little bit higher in guard position for Muay Thai because of Elbow strikes of your opponent.
The punches are from boxing, you can incorporate some technique such as the slip but don't try floyd may weather style, that is just asking for kicks in the legs and ribs
@@PentagonMMA thanks for your vids. Seem really good. You seem a good teacher. I have subscribed. I am turning 36 and hoping to start MY training for fitness and just to become better at fighting.
JnM I would say there’s more so a difference in each Art’s stance. Boxers perform with a more narrow stature (less surface area exposed) while Muy Thai fighters are more linear with all limbs kind of facing forward to either block or perform kicks on your opponent.
While that is a combo, the numbers seem wrong to me as far Muay Thai punches... 4 should be a right hook not an uppercut, uppercut is 5 & 6. 1: jab 2: cross 3: hook (lead hand) 4: hook (back hand) 5: uppercut (lead) 6: uppercut (back) 7: body (lead) 8: body (back) 9: overhand (lead) 10: overhand (back)
Different gyms have their own combo numbered differently so that your opponent cannot understand/ predict what you are going to throw in the ring. Your combo numbers are correct as well.
It’s very different from regular boxing, I’m 1 month into Muay Thai right now and having to re learn all of the things my dad taught me (my dad was a boxer) everything he taught me is wrong for Muay Thai
@@PentagonMMA ahhh thank you! Ya I have been doing a mauy Thai stance and really working on the footwork, but when I’m boxing I use a wider more front foot heavy stance, I guess I gotta work to create my own style and mold the two arts together as best I can
I like the production value. It oculd be improved if the punches hit with the first two knuckles, the elbow didn't flare out, the elbow was behind the fist on the hook, and if the upper cut did't drop before it was thrown. Also, you'd get a lot more poer if you bent your front knee as you strike -- in the video you extend your front leg as you twist and punch. Keep worling hard, man!
@@firstname3352 that attitude is what's wrong with a vocal minority of previously bullied MA students. You think that constructive criticism is an adversarial proposition. So you get all triggered like you're being bullied as you out yourself into someone else's identity. Grown ups don't solve confrontations with fists; and they don't mistake opinions and criticism for confrontation. Grow up.
Maverick wow, what are you going on about? You come out here giving ridiculous advice as though how you were taught, is the only way that techniques should be executed. And then you go on about bullying and confrontation, not solving problems with fists etc? You must get a fantastic workout with all that jumping to conclusions that you seem to do.

Real recognize real my dude. You should step into a gym. You already have good tastes in gritty shows. You definitely have enough gusto to train .
Wow. In just a few minutes I feel more comfortable throwing some punches. The footwork is tough. Way harder cardio work than I thought.
Glad this helped

If I want to start, where can I start to watch?
You can start anywhere... you just have to start....
I have a question please help me, which is during the punch (Jab) should you push the basin a little forward? Or just turn around stationary?
I have bn training boxing for over a decade is it possible for me to self learn Muay Thai already having a boxing foundation?
Of course you can. You will have to adjust something to make it work for Muay Thai.
what are the differences with the western boxing?
Can you incorporate Western Boxing punches in Muay Thai ?
I'm wondering the same thing!!

🤣🤣🤣 thank you.
Shouldn't you put the back further shoulder back when you jab?
@Be n. Not understanding your question.
If you threw a hook like that wound t ur leg get chopped up?
If you lead leg is out side of your opponents leg it will be very difficult to chop for them. Great observation @Daniel Rios
Music is probably not necessary. Just a bit of feedback. Can't hear properly. Otherwise thanks for the video.

Narcizeus Edamame At my Gym, odd’s and evens usually match. Ex: 3’s and 6’s are a right or left hook for me. Idk I guess every trainer is different
Different gyms have their own combo numbered differently so that your opponent cannot understand/ predict what you are going to throw in the ring. Your combo numbers are correct as well.
It all depends on your system.

Is Thai boxing the same as regular boxing? Just wondering, I have very basic boxing training and I wonder if I’m doing the Thai boxing correctly
Muay thai stance is more frontal, and the footwork for the punches are different, but I think you can do it correctly if you get lessons and practice.
It’s very different from regular boxing, I’m 1 month into Muay Thai right now and having to re learn all of the things my dad taught me (my dad was a boxer) everything he taught me is wrong for Muay Thai

The punches are the same. The stance, footwork and everything else is different.
It's just like boxing.
