    Had to save this! I went to my first Muay Thai class, and though I loved it, my lower body wasn't getting any attention when it came to my form (and after watching this video, I see why my hooks were so bad...) I'm continuing to look for the right place for me, but this is so helpful. Thank you!

    That would be 1,2,3, 6 in my gym in terms of names of punches. Great technique practice. I needed this video!

    Thansk for sharing this video. I like it because you show the difference between Muay Thai and Boxing technics. Because sometimes I use Boxing technics if I know I don't want to kick after the punch. Normally it's also possible to combine it. But good to see that someone shows the difference and explain why.
    The only thing I would like to note is: You show very nicely how the feet have to turn when you punsh. But if you do fast shadow boxing, for example, your feet will not work as for slow punshes. The punshes will than come more from hips
    Thanks

    What a great introduction to Muay Thai. Power coming from the hips reminds me of how I’ve been able to develop more power in golf, at my advanced age, by using my hips.
    The similarities of the two sports , for developing a power swing without overextending myself and leaving me wide-open, has been most beneficial in my training.

    Love this video, been in Muay Thai for a few months and had been so focused on getting solid kicks that I neglected my punches

    Great video! Could you make one about what a Muay Thai class warmup might be like (stretches, drills, conditioning, etc.)? It would really help! Thanks!

    I don’t understand why you step in. When I trained in thailand the first thing they pointed out was not to step in, of course it makes complete sense to step in to shorten the distance to reach the opponent and the step out of that zone when you’re done. Still which one is it? Maybe or most likely it depends on the situation?

    • @Kirklue_
      @Kirklue_ Рік тому +4

      Simple answer. There’s different kinds of jabs, if your intitiating contact, step in… if your tryna stick pressure, learn how to throw that shit quick asf even slightly moving backward… it could stick someone that is pressuring you and coming forward, and since they’re moving forward, you don’t have to throw hard, just quick enough and they’ll rethink

    • @Kirklue_
      @Kirklue_ Рік тому

      Always be ready to move your head after you stick em even a little cuz they will try and throw cuz it’s it’ll make ‘em mad,, and that’s when you counter when they throw and miss

    Thanks a lot!! Awesome video. One question: how to throw the ✊ individually . ? For example to perform a Hook? You have to do the others punch first? I mean the jab and the Cross? Or directly from the stance you can make a hook? I am new in this . THANKS

    • @silvatown7824
      @silvatown7824 2 роки тому +3

      Here's an automatic rule of thumb for you hooks and uppercuts as well as kicks you can never throw naked meaning you never throw those first always hide it behind a jab or a straight

      Try it out for a month. It’s normal to feel that way before starting, but Muay Thai gyms are typically welcoming. Good luck!

    Why is the student wearing rings and a watch, the first rule of 'real muay' thai is that you clip your nails hands&feet ever training session and remove all 'street metal'
