I was just painting my stormwatcher chapter captain when I saw this, finally I have an idea for the basing for them, who doesn't love a few dead necrons so now I have a great colour scheme in mind for them
I really like your take on Mephrit. I start mine with Death World Forest too, the wash the entire model with Seraphim Sepia and then drybrush with the edges with Necron Compound to make them all scuffed and battered looking.
First time I've seen the new necrons I do love the paint scheme colours especially the Szarekhan and Novokh but there's something too human about the helmet stripe and shoulders, sort of makes them look less alien. Can't really think how to do the accents and make them look more xeno's though?
Thanks Roger! If you wanted to keep the colour accents but keep the armour looking metallic only, maybe use the accent colour as the main colour on the weapons?
Just bought the Necron half of Indomitus box, Should be here Friday! Trying to decide if I should just go to my local game shop and grab the colors I need, or grab one of those Necron paint kits with like 8-12 colors off the rip. Any suggestions?
I was looking at a video where someone does a necron dynasty where the necrons where the skin of the enemies they kill, it was kinda cool can't remember which dynasty
painting to represent specific dynasties is fine, but i also think simply having your own scheme is fine too "till GW steals it for their own lore BS"... besides, when one has played Necrons since before they wrote dynasties into the lore, one is bound to already NOT match the lore color schemes

I want to make a custom color scheme;
Mostly metallic similar to Nihilak but with a greenish ouroboros on some parts.
This is all well and good, but we need more Bluecrons :P
