There are multiple examples in history of people getting something shot through their head and surviving just fine. Phineas Gage is the most famous example. Theres also tons of people who failed trying to self delete and end up just living with it. It wasnt anything to do with Rex's powers, which are basically just Gambit's powers. No healing factor or electricity involved.
I think in the comics it had a little bit to do with his physiology since he was experimented on when he was young, so he's a little tougher than the usual human. But yeah, regular people have survived headshots before.
@@bleepy013I don’t think he had powers that made him more durable. He has implants in his hands that allow him to destabilize atoms but I don’t think he was given any other powers. He had training to make him more acrobatic and agile but Idk, I could be wrong. It’s been so long since I read the comics
@zimvader25 My point being, to be as casual about having a bullet go through your head as it seems you are posing it leads to the all important question would YOU want to be shot in the head? Kind of rhetorical, but that's my point.
Rex although some people find his power underwhelming he is still super human. Though not super powerful or anything he is stronger and more resilient then humans. An example is getting beaten the crap out of by monster girl she wasn’t letting up but he survived and came out fine
Man idk if I’m the only one who noticed but it looked like the bullet was off to the side and not directly through the center of Rex’s brain, which is something historically some people have survived
Maybe there’s more drama to farm out them, but considering the amount of other stuff all these characters are going through I’d be fine just ending their threat here 🤷♂️
@@hellfish2309 I'm really just hoping that they actually do some permanent damage this time. Considering they're back on earth now, where the gang has an abundance of Rudy's tech that disrupts their nervous systems and not just a single suit, I don't see how they're be more of (or even as much of) a threat as they were in the beginning of this episode.
@exposureeee not gonna spoil anything, but It doesn't take much thought to realize why they'd be more of a threat on earth. If I remember events correctly, the next episode is gonna go crazy.
the kate and immortal relationship connective tissue you guys are talking about is mentioned in the first half when kate and rex are talking about their relationship
the bullet either skimmed the brain or missed it all together, could be that it was partially deflected off the skull and didn't touch the brain with only bone fragments hitting the brain, which is still bad but far more livable then a bullet going through even a portion of the brain.
Not possible since the bullet went in and out on the right side of his head. It was just a stroke of good luck that Rex survived. Not to mention that there's countless examples of people surviving injuries that should've killed them.
S1E3: Monster Girl punched him and fell down like 20 metres. Normal human would have died, but he was just hurt and got up quickly. Hence proved, he has some superhuman durability. Plus, people sometimes do survive headshots. Him getting up and beating KIng Lizard to death was the super part.
It's just"loony toons physics"bull. Humans in animated shows are always WAY stronger and more durable than an actual real person. We ignore how EVERYBODY always has an endless ungodly supply of stamina also.

You guys sadly didnt show it but in that coffee scene, the coffee art for their coffee is two broken hearts and only shows for a few seconds. Bit of a hint to Amber and Marks relationship.
When i watched this episode i thought going into it that Rex would die, but when i saw where in the head he was shot i went "oh he can survive that" just by virtue of real life examples and him being a fictional superhero in a narrative where every choice has a purpose. What was LESS believable to me was how long he was up and walking around with his injuries unaddressed considering how much head wounds tend to bleed😭
Am I alone in thinking that Shapesmith isn't the only Martian to blame for this mess with the Sequids? If the Martians had just wiped them out in the beginning, a lot of this could have been avoided.
Something like that crossed my mind as well. I wondered why they hadn't gotten rid of them. At the very least the show should have said that there's some sort of symbiotic relationship. But they haven't said that's the case.
@@smashbrandiscootch719 Because clearly they *did* pose a danger to the Martians, albeit contingent on a rather unlikely scenario. A ticking time-bomb. The probability was low, but the cost is massive.
Unfortunately the tech we currently know of does not help Rexplode if he were shot in the head. Cecil said Donald's brain was mostly in tact, which is how he survived. Even if they grabbed Rex's DNA and had the Maulers clone him, they still need a viable brain to copy from.
The blender wouldn't cut it. What they mean by “couldn't break down food” is “they don't have amylase to break down nutriment to be assimilated”. Agreed, they could find a substitute. But honestly, it isn't unheard in human culture, a popular myth is that it's how the French kiss evolved in humans: it would've been a way to feed infants
I think nows as good as time as any to ask: Whats Bulletproofs purpose in this show? They introduced him in the beginning of the season, but so far he has neither done nor said anything that would justify him being part of the team. Just like Shrinking Rae and Dupli-Kate (outside like one scene) he has basically no personality
To be fair, the lizard league is still alive and free after multiple run ins with the guardians of the globe both past and present, so they have always been resourceful and despite maybe not accomplishing much, they have remained at large and dangerous.
/spoilers/ Idk if they will do a Rex splode episode dedicated to his backstory in the future but the comics cover that he’s a result of government experimentation
THANK YOU! I feel like I’m the only one who remembers that whole thing! I learned about it as a kid! Granted it was like a super improbable incident and it did have some negative effect, but still
Yeah there's some amazing cases where people will have a brain injury (Shot or stabbed in the head) and usually adrenaline or shock kicks in and they survive/begin doing tasks. I remember one case where a woman got stabbed in the head with a butcher knife, when the cops arrived they are greeted by the woman, butcher-knife sticking out of her head preparing them tea. Sadly in this show the paramedics are just as careless as I've seen IRL letting someone fall, like, catch him, don't let him hit his head on the ground, like, poor dude's injured/in shock. I feel like taking back the Shrinking Ray death kind of cheapens that really gnarly grim way to go, like, it feels like Glen & The Dumpster fiasco in Walking Dead, everything narratively showed she died, including him sputtering up her blood & going "Yum". I think it should have swapped, Ray gone & Dupli-Kate surviving (Like, one of her clones only lost 1 leg, her brain would be fine, like, they brought back Donald but couldn't bring back Kate?) I hope they don't fall into the "Shock & Awe then Takeback" stunts that ultimately lead to the downfall of Walking Dead.
He’s not the bitch he’s frequently portrayed as, but I’m not sure you can say he’s as terrifying as a guy who can have a bad day and crack the planet along its axis
Correct! he may be the most overpowered on the Team: -Strong as base Hulk out of the water, -Strong as base Superman in water -He has hydrokenesis -He has super speed -He has super senses -Can survive in the vacuum of space -Poseidon is the god of storms, the oceans and earthquakes: - So Aquaman can create lightning and storms like Thor- - Can cause earthquakes - and can create tsunamis with the trident of poseidon. -Can fly with the trident -Can teleport to any water source in the universe that has life -Is a homo-magi so with training, he can become as powerful as Dr Strange and Zatanna if he wants. -Can create a huge water avatar of himself. -Can control sea life and give them super strength when he controls them. -AND he is the wealthiest person on the League, not Batman, being worth 150 Trillion dollars.
@@SylverQrow I think people who read comics understand he's elite and people who don't only assume he can talk to fish. That's not me throwing shade on non comic readers, I just figure that's the reason.

Why would they wipe them out? They're of no danger to the Martians. That's like asking why we don't wipe out dogs or seagulls.
