Kelly is a very unique drummer. Style is very different. I seen him play and he plays perfect for the music he performs. Bottom line is when Kelly plays, you know it's Kelly. Thanks for all the great music.
Kelly is an excellent drummer, no doubt... but even if you don't take his drumming into account, he is a phenomenal vocalist!! Listen to "Restless Kind". He's gifted.

Great show-man/singing drummer, very talented! Saw Night Ranger on tour, in San Antonio 1982, got an autographed album, all band members, great bunch!
I played in many a top 40 and original band in the mid 1980's Los Angeles and while I was not a singing drummer, I played with my kit to the side just because of Kelly.. NR was and is my favorite band and to quote Rick Springfield as I heard once on a CNN interview, I wanted to be like NR and write songs about girls to get girls. Sadly, come '84 and '85 every guitar player suddenly wanted to be metallica and slayer (I am from Long Beach too) and they weren't drawing the chicks in like a NR or Poison was.
"Goodbye" was their best song, and Kelly at his best.

Agree 100%. Goodbye is one of, if not my favorite song, of all time. I think it's one of the t beautiful songs, and one of the best songs, ever written. When Kelly sings it, I get goose-bumps. Still.... after all these years when I hear him sing the song live. And then he walks over to the kit, and they kick into full gear with it. Man - what a song. What a band! And Kelly is my all-time favorite singing drummer. Heck - he'd be one off my all-time favorite drummers -and singers, independently of one another. One of the all-time greats for sure. The not so secret Night Ranger secret weapon.
