I ended up getting a 9mm version of this gun, mainly cause a seller was offering the gun, brand new, with three spare magazines, a full carry case bag, all for $800. Taken it to the range a few times, put 300 rounds through it so far.

Love this video-excellent camera work; makes it very easy to understand and follow exactly what you’re doing with the gun.
That malfunction was caused by Young Beretta pushing in on the slide stop pin with his support hand while firing. Thats why the slide was stuck part way back. If you look close you can see the slide stop was trying to come out of the frame slightly until he smacked it back in place.
From re-watching the video it looks like you are correct! The funny thing is I've only ever done this with the Full size Ronin's... I have never had this problem occur with any other 1911's I've ever shot. I think we are going to have someone recontour the slide stop to be flush. - Young Beretta

It looks to me like operator error. It appeared like Young Berretta short stroked the slide. Love the the pistol I'm sold.
Nice work guys! Springfield is one of my favorite 1911 makers. I use the Wilson Combat Elite magazines in all 1911s. (WC 47DE were hit or miss for me)

Been carrying a first gen defender as my primary for almost 25 years, it's been a very dependable pistol for me. Been looking for a new addition to my collection, but very little has jumped out at me. Thinking the Ronin may be the ticket. Great vid, guys. 👍
Brought a Springfield 1911 in 10mm ROE 5"...amazingly accurate, built to last. The machining is outstanding...love it
Unless you get a batch on the 10mm they screwed up. Then you won't be able to even chamber a round

I’ve had my eyes on this 1911, had a feeling this was gonna be a good one from SA specially for the price range & all that I’ve read about it, you can see the accuracy is great specially on that first mag from Sr. From that distance free standing, the one weird malfunction could have been due to the slide stop just slightly being bumped out, i mean Jr. Was manipulating it very quick as he tends to do & he is left hander, also the Ronin is not ambi & he may have pushed slightly on the pin with his right thumb, but regardless it seemed all good after the fact, as a suggestion Talon Grips offer these strips of their product cut for 1911 front straps that don’t have checkering, I’ve used them on some of my 1911’s that have smooth front strap & i must say they work very well & fit great, you apply them the usual way by cleaning the surface & use a blow drier & the edges fit under the grip panels, it’s an inexpensive big improvement, I’ve never had one come off at all just follow exactly the directions, i use the ones that are a little more rubbery type, but they have various textures, thanks for the videos guys, big fan of your channel & 1911’s always look forward when a new video comes out.

I had some feeding issues when I got my Ronin. I sent it to Springfield and it's been perfect ever since. It is amazingly accurate. I almost traded it for a Colt chambered in 38 super at a local gun shop when I was having problems with it. The owner of the shop really wanted to make the deal. I'm glad I didn't!

@@TheRealZJE313 Yep. I tried every mag known to man. According to the paperwork, they polished the feed ramp and throat. They also replaced and tuned the extractor.

Bought one last October 2021. This week I sent it to a local gunsmith who did magic in the trigger taking it down to 3 pounds keeping the factor 23 pound main hammer spring. Shot hundreds of rounds without a problem. I also replaced the factor recoil spring with a 17 pound recoil spring. Because this is not checked on the front strap I used a Pachamry Diamond Pro grips. SA uses thin bushings as noted so screwing thr Diamond Pro grips in was a bit of a pain. When it was at the Smith fir a trigger job, I also asked to change the bushing screws to regular size bushing screws and now it works great.
Works very well so now It's my truck/beater 1911.

Up date: I've sent it out to have the slide Cerakoted for corrosion resistance. I chose a dark gray metallic color called Sniper Grey. Looks smashing.

Glocks are nice for 9mm. 45 and 10mm I think you need a 1911 steel frame.
Sweet looking 1911. I have SA range officer 1911 in 45, the fit and finish on it is amazing. BUT as much as I love it, right out the box I was having Horrible failure to eject problems. No matter what ammo I ran or the grain. I had to polish the slides just to be able to get through a magazine which made it better not perfect. tried a different lube and I think it might be running good now. only went through 3 mags since all that, but the gun finally had no issues. if ammo wasnt so hard to come buy I would be pumping rounds through it but, i have to conserve it. as of now, I still love how accurate it is and well made it is, but I would not trust my life with it. in an emergency situation , im grabbing one of my polymer pistols (CZ p10c)
Copy all that Sir. If I was you, I would send it back to Springfield Armory and have them make it reliable. I have read 4 or 5 of these same type issues and all 4 or 5 said Springfield fixed it and returned the 1911 to the owner with no cost to the owner..... they paid for shipping both ways and got the pistol back in less then 30 days. I trust my Subscribers in telling the truth, and let Springfield put 100 rounds through it after they do a “tune up” on the 1911. 😎🥳👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I recently tried to pick up one of these awesome looking 1911's for myself. No luck. One of my local dealers told me he hadn't seen any of these 1911's Ronin's for six months. It isn't only these 45's. Handguns, rifles, etc are basically sold out everywhere at every dealer in my state. This is the first time I've ever seen shit like this.
Give it a another year or two (as long as more doo doo doesn't hit the fan) everyone who panic bought will be off loading their guns that most likely won't be shot much since ammo was so hard to get...
Glad to see they eliminated that lock in the mainspring housing used in previous models. The trigger can be upgraded and the frontstrap stippled or checkered or sticky tape installed. Home run. Take it to war.
Used Pachamyr Diamond Pro wrap around grips with low profile finger grooves. Works just fine.

It has a pretty good “feel” to it, even with no front strap checkering. I don’t say that all the time, as I am a fan of Front Checkering. For the money it is hard to beat this 1911. Take care Sir!

Cool. Looks like my Colt Combat Elite that I purchased in the 1987 and the Next Generation Colt Combat Elite I purchased in 2018.
Does it still have plastic on it?got rid of al my colts and switch to Springfield

The only things plastic on Colts are the mainspring housing (Kimbers have always used plastic mainspring housing). This is easily replaced with a steel or aluminum one in minutes.
The trigger on my Combat Elites are aluminum.
As per this video the trigger on this new Springfield is plastic.
My Wiley Clapp Colt Government is really nice. The.Perfect Combat Pistol. It even has 25 lpi hand checking by Pete Single. He worked for the Wayne Novak Custom shop.
Colts are made in the USA with forged Frames and Slides since 1911. While Springfield Armory 1911s have always been made in Brazil.
I have a Springfield Armory 1911 TRP in 1911 in 10 mm that I like very much.
It's the only Springfield I have as I've traded all the others away.

The malfunction might have been caused by your support hand pushing the slide stop pin slightly out of alignment.
That might have been the case... If so, that is very surprising because I’ve never done that before on a 1911. - YB
@@BERETTA9mmUSA I've done it a few times. I have a gunsmith cut my slide stops flush with the frame on the ejection side. Flush with a reverse crown is good too. Happy shooting

Yeah I tried the Rock Island Armory for a first 1911 45. ACP, and I didn't even get 100 rounds before it started to hiccup with dirty rounds. It was an okay gun for the price, until I bought my first Springfield Loaded. Sofar my Loaded, has fired anything I put through it. Amazing accuracy, and has not had one failure. I now have a Range Officer and and Ronin. The Rock Island, sold it.

This pistol would be flawless if only Springfield kept their old rollmarks. Not a fan of the new style marks. However this gun is so nice that I plan on getting one when they become more available.

So your saying that if one wanted to change the grips on this they would need to be thin grips like the stock ones? Or could you just buy bigger bushings to pull thicker grips on?
