Note: I mistakenly loaded 9 rds in the 8 rd magazine during my entire range testing. The Ronin had no malfunctions with the overloaded mags but was slow to go over the first round when racking the slide the first couple of times. You'll notice at.22 secs that the slide hesitated and didn't quite seat the round. That was user error and not the Ronin.

Haha I was JUST going to the comments section to point that out. Thought it was a nosedive with those HPs. My Colt HATES Sig V-Crowns, which is weird because it's a pretty rounded hollow point. Nice catch.

I love the disassemble and reassemble of the 1911. Your demo is better than many you tube videos dedicated to that alone. Very nice.

I have the Ronin .45 and have been shooting the hell out of it due to .45 being just about the only ammo I find on the shelves. The Ronin is Badass and has eaten everything that I have fed it with no hiccups. I think Springfield knocked it out of the park with this model.
Glad to see the 10mm continue to grow. Just wish S&W would bring back their 10xx series pistols.
It's the only round i can buy anymore, and it hasn't even gone up in price. Good for me and my Witness Hunter 10mm i guess.

A ronin is a samurai without a master, like a knight without a lord, hence the “wanderer” translation. Great video sootch.

@@biggunshandguns3687 10mm is a great round. A lever or carbine would tame the round yet bring out its full potential when loaded to true specs not these mild factory loads. You really had to ask?
@@rickrivers2909 Why is a valid question when you can already get 357 loaded to the same or higher power than 10mm; and if that's not enough, you can always get lever actions in 44 magnum which dwarf 10mm. So, why?

I own a Kimber and a Glock model 40 in 10 mm this looks like Kimber quality. I too am hooked on 10 mm
Hadn't considered 10mm until now. That pistol is amazing, I simply must possess it.
The only thing it’s missing is the front checkering, for me it’s not a deal breaker, it’s one of the most beautiful 1911, I loved the quality, and the slide bluing awesome pistol
I agree about the checkering. However the frame is stainless steel, so you don't need to pay extra to get it refinished like a carbon steel frame.
I would switch out the grips and switch out the plastic trugger for a steel trigger.
I love 10mm. I first shot one back in 1988-a colt delta elite
1 magazine? come on Springfield. Glock and many others come with 3 magazines, at least 2 mags would have been fair.
1 mag is unfortunate. I picked up a Springfield XDM 5.25 in 9mm earlier this year for a price I couldn't pass up and it came in a hard plastic case and 3 mags.
These magazines only run $28 directly from SA. I'm disappointed they don't include 3 magazines and just bump the MSRP to $900.
I guess this way SA can entice people to visit their online store and maybe buy other stuff. Marketing 🤷♂️
@@Uberragen21 Springfield is still an awesome American company, the single mag is not a deal breaker considering this fine 1911 Ronin.

Good review. I love Springfield 1911's but would prefer an all-stainless model for heavy outdoor use. Other then that, it seems like a good value.
Then look at Ruger's SR1911.
I love all my 10mm’s. Great caliber.
I have owned a Springfield custom full race weapon since the mid 1980’s. It’s a very comfortable & well made weapon. Yes there custom shop is second to none.

A Ronin is a Samurai without a master. Who becomes a drifter. But most did not. It’s was common for the Ronin to commit Seppuku (suicide) to follow their master/ lord to the afterlife. Or if they became out of favor would do it to to regain their honor. Either way. A badass name for a 10mm 1911.
I got my most wanted 10mm, Sig Sauer P220 Elite Stainless, my second instead of the ronin or Ruger, I just bought for my anniversary gift to myself is the Big Rock Pro Match Ultra 6” Double Stack 10mm!
Love the outtakes, good gun. Sad i live in a de-militarized country, at least in Germany no one is hit by the ammo shortage.

I field stripped 1991s so many times in the military, I can do it blindfolded. Not that is such a great accomplishment. The pistol is extremely well designed.
What a Cannon, I remember when the Ronin series came out November 1st 21, the 3 inch 9rds and 4-in 10rds model have the thick Bull barrel, the 4.25 inch 9rds is a standard barrel thickness with a barrel shim. A thicker grip is easier on the hand that's why Beretta's are so comfortable to shoot , or any double stack , 2011's.Double stacks Are the RAGE NOW ❤

I've owned two 1911s, including a Rock Island 10mm. It's one of my more heartbreaking losses because I sold it before I ever got to shoot it. I'd like to get one for keeps at some point, and I'm wanting the railed version this time.

I picked up a Ronin in 9mm with the 4.25 barrel...absolutely love it. Had I known a 10mm was coming I would have waited...now it looks like I will have to buy another gun! I hate it when that happens! ;-)

I have the Glock 40 MOS , it shoots like a freaking dream with high power 180gr 10mm ammo , but somehow I feel the need for a 1911 in my life 😜🇺🇸
Great Vid. Love your stuff. Also Ronin = Master-less Warrior. Samurais without a Lord were called Ronin. They were expected to die with their lords or die trying.
I own a stainless mil spec 1911 it barely turned a year this year with me it was my first hand gun and gun all together and man i love it have no issues with it just a nice hunk of steel that shoots bowling balls.
I'm actually placing my order for one of these today. I've been waiting on them to come back in stock.

I've been in the market for a 10mm and was going with the XD-10, I don't have a polymer frame pistol and love the capacity.
Now this comes along and now makes me rethink my selection because I am not hunting, just going to range and home protection.
I might have to flip a coin on this, either way I don't think I can go wrong.

If I’m getting a 1911 one day it’ll be this one for sure. I love my XDM OSP in 10mm, with a Vortex Venom on top and a Streamlight TLR8-G under the barrel. Not to mention the 15 + 1 capacity, it’s the better choice imo in every way. Still I like the all metal frame construction of a 1911 vs the polymer framed guns, but hey the XD series is nice and light but when fully loaded the weight is perfect I think. Either way another 10mm is a welcome addition to the safe no matter what.
I wanted this in. 45, couldn't find it last year, Got desperate and got Glock 30 instead 😎😎

I own this pistol, and fully agree. Very nice. It is the only 10mm I own but it is saweeeet.
Bought G20 years ago and 500 tounds of Underwood, before Underwood became popular and expensive. Grains 135 to 200. 135 ballistics is crazy; 1600 fps and about 700 lbs muzzle energy. Will.not go into.the woods without it.

I just hope that Springfield will make a good looking, quality, functional, anti-jamming, extended mag.

Next firearm I'm getting is a 10mm...wanted one for years. Can't decide between the Ronin or Delta Elite. Love the 1911 platform, but you gave me something to think about with the XD-10. That 15-round capacity is a big thing to consider. Very nice review!
I had a Sig 1911 in 10mm, sold it. My Glock G29SF shoots softer, has better capacity, is lighter & is easier to carry.

Glock definitely were the first to really build good polymer lower pistols...at least that I’m aware of...but I don’t hate them. I would, however prefer that the aftermarket would throw as much love at M&P’s as it does at Glock’s.

I've been a fan and owner of 10mm since it came out years ago. I own a hand gun and pcc in this outstanding cartridge. Seriously considering adding another 10mm handgun to my collection if I can come up with the cash.

So. I have had several Springfield 1911's they have always been good guns. I love my Professional. That being said, I have always had to make corrections (yes the Professional too) to get them where they should have been from the factory. The fit and finish should be better (except the professional). I picked up my first RIA the other day, never owned one before, the fit and finish is superb. The magazine was trash. Step up the game for the price Springfield

Great offering at a great price, however, it's too bad the Springfield Range Officer Elite Operator 10mm has been discontinued. More expensive but so are all the Elite Operators from Springfield, in the looks department they are tough to beat and highly functional. The 1911 platform is outstanding.
Since you’re a Hi-Power Practical owner, I’m sure the SS lower with a blued slide is right up your alley. I have a full SS Springfield 1911 .45 and I really enjoy it. They make a good solid pistol. Thanks for the review.
I love that someone is offering an actual blued slide and I love the retro two tone look, which is completed by the wood grips. It’s a beautiful pistol. Lack of front checkering is disappointing. The plastic trigger is an insult to the platform. Fiber optic front sights and 10mm are not a great match.
I like to buy one just because I think its a great weapon . No idea of a good dealer .

Watching the review, I was expecting the MSRP to be something ridiculous like $2k. Pleasantly surprised. Under $900 puts it in the ballpark.

This seems to be a great value 10mm. Not quite Dan Wesson level, but the features are there. I was very pleased with the trigger weight/pull measurement. Now, if Springfield will come out with a 2011 in 10mm ...

My first/so-far-only 1911 is a .45ACP Ronin. I haven't gotten to shoot it much, thanks 'rona, but I absolutely love the experiences I've had so far. Very interested in the "big brother" though.

Frame not being cast, is that a dig at Ruger? Ruger makes a very well built 1911. Mine in 10mm is well built and sold, the bull barrel locks up like a bank vault.

1911, Prue Truth, LOVE them, have a few, favorite carry gun (Armscor 3.1, 10 round) the Ruger SR1911 (SS) is my go to 10 mm to go with my Glock 20. That’s the match you want, Trust me 🥴. Really anything in 10mm is going to be the sh*t. 👍🏼❤️🇺🇸🤠
Did Springfield just rename the entire “Ronin Operator” lineup to “Ronin” without telling anyone? I noticed on their website that they removed every trace of the word “Operator” from their Ronin page, and the slides just say Ronin now.
They should have because Operator means Accessory rail in the 1911 line up I have the MC Operator 1911
Looks like a pretty nice piece of kit. I've got a Springfield GI 1911a1 style with the arched mainspring housing. It's one of my favorite handguns.

Was there a Musquito on his hand in the beginning, holding on for dear life! Glock 20 was my 1st pistol I bought myself , and I've loved the gun and the round ever since 2012 . 10MM was a lil bit of a pain getting at the shops back then and they used to be so over priced but now I get 10mm for the same price as 9mm or cheaper . Oh how the times have changed hahaha. Love your channel , always look forward to your videos.
Underwood has been hands down my favorite ammo for the 10mm . I love them. I got 135 gr nosler pushing 1600 fps ahhhh yeah . Highly recommend any and all underwood 10mm rounds

Great review. I really like ramped barrels in 1911's. It has been my experience that ramped barrels are stronger and more reliable. I would like to see Springfield Armory use ramped barrels on their 45 caliber 1911's as well.
Is this one without a ramped barrel?
Debating between this or the kimber camp gaurd for hunting. Any suggestions?

Very good presentation. My only complaint is that as a left handed shooter it is not easy to use so many of the good quality 1911s . I don't think a low profile ambi safety is something that gets in the way.....after all when I shoot with my left hand I have no problem with the regular safety. This is one of the many reasons I love shooting CZ handguns, they take lefties into consideration.
This is why I'd rather have the Springfield Range Officer Elite. I'm a lefty but even if I weren't I'd require an ambi-safety on all my 1911's.
@@Claimjumper55 I just picked up a used Springfield Operator in 45 acp. great price, has a rail and best of all it has an ambi-safety. I am tired of being ignored as a lefty.
I have the ronin but it is chambered in .45 love the 1911 god made man colt made them equal
