Tunisian people are very happy : your video was NECESSARY ! Since 2011, TUNISAIR is getting a very bad reputation, but tunisian (and french) complaints are ignored with contempt and arrogance. Thank you for your video ! And do it again, and again, and again, because tunisian customers just NEED YOU !!! When a tunisian customer complains, who cares ? And, if a french customer complains, they send him to Hell : "you are a f..king colonialist" is the best polite answer a french complainer can hope.

@@everythingisawesome2903 : France has nothing to do in that precise case !
      (1) Tunisair has been founded in 1948. It got zero casualty in 72 years ! My first flights on Tunisair took place in the fifties. It has always been a "super OK air company", always on schedule, always clean, with fantastic cabin service from 1948 to 2010.
      (2) After the independence of Tunisia in 1956, Tunisair became entirely tunisian. In the sixties, even the pilots were tunisian.
      (3) Tunisair was a top quality air company from 1948 to 2011 ; one of the few companies with absolutely NO CASUALTY (I mean zero killed under Tunisair flag, it is a fantastic performance ! ). The casualty number, zero, is better than those of Luftansa, Air France, Swissair, aso. A few casualties occured on Tuninter, another tunisian company.
      (4) Since 2011, Tunisair has been compelled to recruit hundreds of incompetent persons for political reasons : that is the only cause of the bl..dy mess.

It‘s not only about local currency. Even if you are „(re) exporting“ $, €, etc. you are limited to a maximum of ~1500€ (as a foreigner). So if you are carrying more, you have to prove where that money came from. If you imported (at arrival) more money and wish to re-export it, you need to declare the amount at the customs on arrival. Then you are free to re-export your money.

First of all thank you for this Review, Tunisair most definitely deserves being scolded.
Secondly, as both a Tunisian and a professional musician, the background music is both irritating and completely irrelevant to Tunisian music and culture. It would have been better to search for actual tunisian music and not put the first “oriental-sounding” shit (for lack of a better word) you found on the net OR not put any music at all. While sadly there were no staff or personnel in the lounge, there definitely weren’t any Camels or sand dunes there either to put that cheesy “Prince of Persia” kind of music.

So it's clearly not the golden age of the company right now.

Hi! So first, welcome to Tunisia. Hope you liked your stay at least!. So, friends of mine have been sharing this on FB and shaming Tunisair for their indifference. Now that I've watched the video, I can tell that you're 100% right. There's a cleanliness issue in the airport lounge, as well as on the plane; food leftovers, cigarettes, magazines, etc, should be gotten rid of. The breakfast box issue is to be reconsidered thoroughly as well (Cheese and muffin? they DEFINITELY don't mix XD). I am also astonished of the fact that they didn't provide you with an English questionnaire. That's really awkward. Still, I like the fact that you stressed the crew's welcoming attitude and showed the bright details of the flight as well. Thank you for your integrity.

I’m guessing, since the aviation industry had been hit hard by the pandemic, some airlines do need to marry safety and hygiene with cost cutting. Nice video! To answer your question about why customs asked you if you're carrying any money (local or foreign) is because it is part of the country's effort to limit and regulate the outflow of foreign and local currency. You see, many countries have currencies that are not tradeable (unlike the UK or USA), so they rely heavily on their reserves of foreign currency to import goods (US Dollars to pay US suppliers, Euros to pay European suppliers, etc) . Therefore, in an effort to control this outflow and maintain a healthy economic balance, every resident of Tunisia (Citizen and residents) has a set hard limit per year of how much foreign currency they can take out of the country. Limit is set depending on your specific status or situation in the country, and purpose of travel. Many countries like Morocco or Algeria have these measures in place. It's called "Currency Allocation". A set amount is defined depending on your purpose of travel abroad, it being Medical, Tourism, Studies, etc... Morocco for example has a limit of 45,000 MAD (around 4000€... Or 4500US$ depending on the currency you're getting) for tourism, Tunisia has a limit of 6000TDN (Around 2000€ I believe) . The Confusion is totally understandable, since many people from Western countries never had to deal with these restrictions. If you're from Germany, your precious Euros in cash or in bank card works with no issues in any country you visit because the Euro is a traded currency so its valuable and is stored in reserve and used to pay for imports. Tunisian Dinar or Moroccan Dirham on the other hand, are worthless outside their own countries. Basically Tunisia cannot use their local currency to pay a German company... They need Euros, and they need to protect how much they have of it so that they can keep importing stuff. There you go :). Cheers!

So here's the deal with Airline Food:
The danger with coronavirus is contact between people. I do not believe there have been any proven cases of spread through food.
Generally, they should serve the entire meal in one course to minimize the contact between cabin crew and passengers. This will require a tray rather than plates and the what not. This may require some compromises in food (particularly presentation) but not like this.
That said, one issue airlines are having is sourcing food. Industrial kitchens are a good vector for spreading covid. Lots of close in work in rooms with poor ventilation. With social distancing, I imagine caterers are moving much, much slower, which may require compromises (like packaged food) to get it out. Airlines that serve full meals may come from countries either with little concern about worker safety or with low rates of covid.

Hi Josh, greetings from Toronto, Canada. I think the main issue that most of your critics are trying to put across (which they are unable to do properly) is that you are strategically picking airlines that you may be aware are struggling and will naturally give you great trending content which eventually will grow your audience for the wrong reasons. While I am sure you have your own strategy and road map for your channel, not everyone will be able to look at things from your altitude. Keep doing what you do. Your true fans will always be on your side. All the best!

He has plenty of positive reviews, if the airline were better this wouldn't be an issue. It seems like you are misunderstanding the concept of UA-cam, views are a good thing and listening to your viewers requests is a form of positive customer service, perhaps lessons can be learned from that. The irony is not missed here though, you are moaning at someone being negative, yet that is the purpose of your comment, at least he is being paid for what he is doing. How can people see bad service and blame the reviewer? This isn't even a terrible review, it shows lax attitude and in aviation, that is a choice that should be challenged.

You will find the lack of English language announcements to be not uncommon on all North African airlines on domestic flights and flights to French speaking countries or countries where |French is the second language.
The comfort aboard this aircraft was excellent for a short flight; you were lucky not to be on a narrow body aircraft with a European business class configuration (ie. 3 abreast Y seating with the centre seat empty).
The lack of IFE could be due to the short duration of the flight. Perhaps they simply don't turn it on for short haul flights. Were headsets distributed?
I agree that the catering provided was a disgrace for business class on this route. The cheese and muffin is very strange. Not something I would associate with Tunisia and certainly not a traditional French breakfast either. I can't help wondering if proper catering was not available for some reason; could they have closed the kitchen due to Covid? I suppose we will never know.

We Tunisians are really struggling with their bad service and corruption.
I invite you to do it again well-done.

In Tunisia when there's no bread we just eat cheese by itself it's no big deal
+ the muffin was served to be eaten with the yogurt or by itself
I see no harm in the food, most of it is packed up which is a good thing especially with COVID-19, the only harm is the dirty surfaces
Since we were colonised by France, most of our signs, books.... Are in French/arabic, however we are trying to change this and use English like the rest of the world.

I fley a lot with Tunisair when I was a kid, something I allways looked forward to was their food. Used to traditional tunesian food served onboard. Was allways delicious, I hope next time I will not be served muffins and cheese :)

Thanks for your review. No one can deny how Tunisair has a bad reputation and maybe corruption concerning their services. However, I feel like you already have a stereotype about it and you are doing everything to confirm that!!! Otherwise, who can laugh so hard for some cheese with muffin? Or some yogurt and muffin? That’s weird of you more than the cheese itself.
The staff was kind and helpful, I see the lady coming to help you with the table, no one is ignoring you. Greetings and smiles all time. That’s positive and reflects how warm and kind the Tunisians are. Again, thank you for your review, Tunisair needs to improve the service anyway.
    Sending you love from 🇹🇳

Dude, French is also the international language for IATA as well. Pilots flying into France, generally communicate with Air Traffic in French only.
Remember most of North Africa and parts of Middle East like Lebanon, were previously French colonies, hence why they speak French.

Dear Josh, First I would love to thank you for the initiative of visiting my country Tunisia, and on behalf of people of Tunisia I apologize for any inconvenience caused, not because I belong there, but really Tunisia is an iconic beautiful country with much of diversity (beaches, mountains, forest, snow and desert at the same land) and Tunisair was one of the leading airlines in the region and Africa well known for the great service and especially the well-trained pilot's reputations, I wish if you had conducted this visit before 2011 so you will experience and see what I already mentioned. As since that date the country faces a lot of political issues and dramatically got corrupted... again please accept our apologies.

      Don’t apologize ? It’s not like it’s our fault!
Don’t you think we go through hell living in our country because of our corrupted responsables ??
I’m ever so grateful he didn’t try Tunis Gabes train , because that would be an even BIGGER disaster than this .
And yet we citizens still bare with it !
Responsibles should fking apologize , politicians , not us , a permanent victim of their negligence and egotistical selves

Noureddine Rezgui No we’re not , try speaking , try action , it will lead to nothing , nothing changes unfortunately.
When it comes to corruption you cant do anything , unless some powerful party applies laws and does it the hard way .
      These people are unstoppable.
Imagine the last head government is corrupted ( he has only been a few months in , and he already spread his corruption) , and he fired the head of the association of anti corruption, because he himself , the very one who should be fighting corruption , is accused of corruption.
How the hell are you going to eradicated this ?

A lot of stuff are being said here in Tunisia regarding this review. Tunisians hate when someone from outside comes to point the real problems they are refusing so hardly to see.
Being a frequent user of Tunisiair and OACA Airports (Nationals airport Management Authority) passing by is always a bad experience, now Ture COVID Crisis didn't make things easier for both, but still all what you pointed out is ture and accurate.
Regarding your question on minute 8:20 it is strictly forbidden to take out any kind of national currency, the fine for doing so is quite severe.
    Cheers mate, job well done

The fact u just focused on the muffin-cheese part only to criticize and make your comment about a constructive review, shows that u r Tunisian who's trying to defend the HORRIBLE service done by the airport and the airline. It explains the lazy attitude and work ethic of both smh. Maybe he focused on the muffin joke because he LITERALLY had nothing else good to say about the whole situation!!
